Really enjoyed the video! Yeah, I stopped listening to TDG stuff after Adam left. I only listen to their first four records, and I have seen Saint Asonia 3 times now. Even did a meet and greet with Adam and the band. Adam is a legendary vocalist, and when you see him live, it is a very emotional experience. I just don’t have the same feeling towards Matt, and no hate, just wish Adam would tour with TDG and sing the old songs and let Matt sing the newer ones. That would be legendary.
Here watching after TDG announced that Adam is back! Unbelievable! ❤🎉 And a good Chance to Matt to find its own strenghts instead of replacing Adam. Matt is fine. But Adam is Adam. Same like Chester and Emily. From one one you get a deep view into personal experiences and emotions, the other person is just singing it well like in a better karaoke bar. But the songs that aren't ballads feel like og 3DG
Was gonna say,it grew on me but even when I didn't initially like it there were some top tier tracks on it,along with that it's the band at their most technical and experimental in terms of creativity and not every track is good but most really have a good sense of identity

Even thou Adam left the band, the band and him both acted like mature adult and just do what they thought was best. Usually band split ups end up really bad with hatred woth each other but these guys didn't.
Matt does a fantastic job. I saw them live and realized they were still great, and you can get your Adam fix with Saint Asonia, which is an amazing band.
The One X album is still the only band album from any band where I love every song . I wish they could continue to throw out hits like it was 2006 but those days are long gone .
You forgot to mention TDG actually had some more hits that made it to radio (at least in Canada) in 2018, with songs like “the mountain” I actually really like both eras of the band! But I have one x on CD from when I was younger and it’s always gunna be one of my favourite albums of all time
I don't hate the "new" Three Days Grace" but it just simply can't compare to the old band. Adam is kinda what defined that band to me. I'll admit the earlier albums with Adam were better than the later albums with album and it was just different but I still really like each album. I think it would've been better if they had chosen a new band name with Matt on vocals. They might not garner as much attention with a new band name but I don't think the hate would be thrown their way as much.
Wow. I listened to TDG a lot when I was a teenager (late 20s now) and this video really opened my eyes on the changes. I remember when I first heard Saint Asonia I was like "why did Adam leave TDG if he's going to continue to make music?" This explains it.

In 2004, I met Adam by chance in a food court across the street from where 3DG was playing that night. Funny story, I asked him if any of the tracks were covers (on the self titled album). He almost seemed annoyed by the question... fast forward and the band is putting out covers without him, lol
Most hated? I thought that was Nickleback, Limp Bizkit, and Dave Mathews band catching all the hate. I like albums with both vocalists, same with Van Halen, Alice In Chains, Killswitch Engage, Saliva, AC/DC, and Escape the Fate.
TDG first album was one of the first rock albums I ever owned when I got into the music when I was 11 years old in 03’. I quickly got into heavier music but I still remember draining that album to death when it first released. I had an ex gf who’s older brother worked at a venue they played at early in their career and apparently Adam was a real doosh. Amazing video really, I loved yours word you said at the ending "throw some love at Saint Asonia instead of hating on Matt" Personally I'm a big Adam fan but I still enjoy TDG music, what you said about Transit of Venus is true, it was basically Adam's personal f#ck you note on their record label and the band at the time. Unfortunately this trend of making record labels happy continues with Matt, but I must say Human was actually an good album in my opinion but yeah.. then came Outsider and this album was like an transition period for the band between actually making good music and just making radio friendly songs, and Explosions was just the confirmation on what path they decided to take, don't get me wrong Explosions was far better than Outsider but both of these albums are soulless, and I don't even see any blink of hope for things to change because both Outsider and Explosions were produced by the same team producers even the same studio except for the fact that all of band members had to record their parts at their own houses because covid, and Neil [drummer of TDG] created his own record label with these producers so I guess their music will just stay the same. PS. Only thing you got wrong in your video is the fact you said Adam hated Life Starts Now, that's not true Adam hated Transit Of Venus, the reason their debut album and One-X were so good was the raw, unfiltered emotions Adam put into his lyrics on these albums, debut album was about their lives, growing up in a small town, 1X was mostly written by Adam when he was on his rehab, co he wrote about all the things that haunted him during that time, but LSN didn't had any drama behind it. Long time ago I saw a comment on the internet that LSN is just a clean version of 1X and I couldn't agree more with that statement, but still it wasn't that bad.
Yeah this gives a lot of good context for why they sorta fell off before Adam left and explains why it happened. I’ll always cherish the one time I was able to see them live before Adam left. They were so good that they almost outshined A7X that night. Good times.
I’ve been a long time fan of Three Days Grace, with that being said it’s just not the same without Adam as the lead vocalist, I’m not bashing the band currently by any means but it’s truly just not the same without him in my opinion.
really cant hate matt for stepping in tho.. he's been helping the band since their debut, its at least nice to see the band in a family bond ya know? . Matt and the band are really good with the music they created with Matt. but agreed the old songs don't hit the same without Adams voice and emotion. people still bring up One-X and how they aren't the same after and that's all because Adams rehab and the journey of a restart after it. its nice the band didn't recycle noises.
I don't know about hated but they aren't the same without Adam. Nothing against their current vocalist, but the raw power of Adams vocals really pushed the overall sound of 3DG.
I don't hate on the current TDG, but I will just never feel the same love and warmth to it as I did for the OG band. The band is basically its own thing that started riding off of TDG's fame, that's how I feel. Matt singing Adam's songs is fanservice, but I personally can never enjoy him performing them as I did Adam and that further takes away from the experience
The only people I've seen hate 3DG are the music critic hipsters. Sites like RYM. But thats to be espected from those people. Just like movie critics. They think they're above anything that they percieve as simple and not overly complex. Nothing new. Ignore.
Not exactly sure how the label wanted them to get any more radio friendly than they already were lol while their first 2 albums were certainly good, they were already basically tailor made for mainstream radio play.
Three Days Grace became one of those bands like Dragonforce and Escape The Fate where every time they drop new music, I’ll poke my head in the room and go, “…nah, they still haven’t figured it out. I’ll catch you guys on the next album I guess” and go back to listening to the golden era
Sure We all know TDG because of Adam, but I really like Matt. I like just as much songs from Matt as Adam. There is like not one song from Matt I dislike.
фанаты всегда будут требовать реюньон. в нашей стране есть группа Ария,где оригинальный вокалист Валерий Кипелов ушел в 2002м году,но поклонники все ещё надеются на его возвращение, несмотря на успешную сольную карьеру.
I don’t see a lot of people hate on Three Days Grace to be honest. They hate on the Matt era but those first 3 albums don’t get a lot of hate from a bunch of people. I can honestly see why they do though. Matt’s songs are all really edgy for the sake of being edgy. They have really generic and corny lyrics especially being written by dudes in their 40s. I’m not saying they were lyrically groundbreaking with Adam but they weren’t as painfully generic. I like some of Matt’s songs from Human but Outsider and Explosions are terrible.
'I am machine' is killer... but that cover of 'somebody that i used to know' can go to the lowest circle of hell. Most of the new guys vocals are a bit lack luster. The instruments still sound good and the distortion still sounds good. Quite frankly adam is on the same level as manard and reznor. new guy isn't particularly bad i mean c teir is still above average.
No controversy, Adam clearly was 3dg... so we have 2 great 3dg albums and Adam's other projects. No need to see the radio sellouts and the replacement. Let the Posers be Posers.
Three Days Grace is hated? Since when? An all honesty peoples only reason for not liking it now is "Adam left". I love Adam Gontier, i do like his songs more than Matts but Matt is good as well hes kept Three Days Grace afloat this long. They both do a damn good job with TDG. Matt was good with TDG an My Darkest Days. Adam is good with TDG an Saint Asonia now.
Can't say they suck, cause they clearly have a healthy following, but I could never get into them. They haven't released a single thing I've ever enjoyed. There's something disingenuous about their sound - like they produce a product similar to music that has heart.
Idk… break was a good song. It sounded less radio friendly to me than their previous singles. It was more creative. Their earlier singles are very meat and potatoes rock. I didn’t really become a fan until I heard “break”. Same goes for “Chalk Outline”. Matt is a good singer. But I feel like they lost their uniqueness. They sound more like a really good local band. Or a kind of generic band you hear on satellite radio or something. They don’t have the same impact without Adam.
I've never seen hate for Three Days Grace except my own. I hate the direction Matt took the band in. The sound is awful now. I'm glad Adam made Saint Asonia, I just wish he was more active with it!

They’re really not
From all the radio butt rock/post grunge that I grew up around, 3 Days Grace was one of those bands that turned out to be pretty solid
Yeah this gives a lot of good context for why they sorta fell off before Adam left and explains why it happened.
I’ll always cherish the one time I was able to see them live before Adam left. They were so good that they almost outshined A7X that night. Good times.
Saint Asonia is what three days grace should have been after 2006
This is literally the first time I hear someone say "THD" and "Hate" in one sentence lol, clicked the video cuz of confusion. Nice clickbait I guess
TBH. I think all of the Albums with Adam are pretty great. Even Life Starts Now and Transit of Venus. I am glad that they have moved on to be better.
I’ve been a long time fan of Three Days Grace, with that being said it’s just not the same without Adam as the lead vocalist, I’m not bashing the band currently by any means but it’s truly just not the same without him in my opinion.
Three days grace was peak when Adam was in the band I still listen to their older tracks more than the newer ones.
really cant hate matt for stepping in tho.. he's been helping the band since their debut, its at least nice to see the band in a family bond ya know?
They were an opener at a show i went to last year and the dude was asking for a pit😂😂😂😂
As much as I love Adam… you have to respect Matt for like you said putting his ego aside. Matt is not bad by any means and I some of the new stuff.
This video didn't age well....hahahaha
I don't hate on the current TDG, but I will just never feel the same love and warmth to it as I did for the OG band.
The band is basically its own thing that started riding off of TDG's fame, that's how I feel.
Matt singing Adam's songs is fanservice, but I personally can never enjoy him performing them as I did Adam and that further takes away from the experience
Always loved both bands, 3dg is definitely watered down but in no means bad.
They aren't. Its just that since Adam left a lot of older fans and critics just aren't into their newer stuff.
The only people I've seen hate 3DG are the music critic hipsters. Sites like RYM. But thats to be espected from those people. Just like movie critics. They think they're above anything that they percieve as simple and not overly complex. Nothing new. Ignore.
I didn’t know they were hated this is the first time I’ve heard it
You know I listened this band way too much because i recognised the song from the intro when it was still muffled.
Not exactly sure how the label wanted them to get any more radio friendly than they already were lol while their first 2 albums were certainly good, they were already basically tailor made for mainstream radio play.
Sick shirt bro
I didn't like them really when they came out, grown to like them after listening to Adam's acoustic shows
I actually really like some of the tracks off transit of Venus…
Adam sucks. Left after signing up for a tour just to start his solo band and lie to the other guys about it.
Also Saint Asonia isn’t as good as original TDG like everyone pretends they are.
@@acceptable1609 I wouldn't know. Ive avoided listening to them because of how he left 3dg lmao
@@korianthos You're doing yourself a favor, I've tried listening to them on numerous occasions and it's just generic and boring.
Because all the song from the time Adam was there the songs were made for his voice
I took the third option, the same as with Linkin park. Only the first 2 albums are cannon. Nothing else exists.
Life Starts Now is such a good Album though
I don’t see a lot of people hate on Three Days Grace to be honest. They hate on the Matt era but those first 3 albums don’t get a lot of hate from a bunch of people.
I can honestly see why they do though. Matt’s songs are all really edgy for the sake of being edgy. They have really generic and corny lyrics especially being written by dudes in their 40s. I’m not saying they were lyrically groundbreaking with Adam but they weren’t as painfully generic. I like some of Matt’s songs from Human but Outsider and Explosions are terrible.
3:32 I! I COULD BE A PAINKILLER! KILLER! KILLER! KILLER!
This insults Matt Walst💀💀
'I am machine' is killer... but that cover of 'somebody that i used to know' can go to the lowest circle of hell.
Most of the new guys vocals are a bit lack luster. The instruments still sound good and the distortion still sounds good. Quite frankly adam is on the same level as manard and reznor. new guy isn't particularly bad i mean c teir is still above average.
No controversy, Adam clearly was 3dg... so we have 2 great 3dg albums and Adam's other projects.
No need to see the radio sellouts and the replacement. Let the Posers be Posers.
They're hated?
i don't hate matt its just him singing older songs just doesn't feel right
Because Adam Is So Loved
Break is my favorite Three Days Grace song 😀
I didn't know they were hated. I loved 3DG
I didn't know people did honestly
Matt is great. Adam is great. They should both do vocals.
They always reminded me of a n/a beer version of Mudvayne
Can't say they suck, cause they clearly have a healthy following, but I could never get into them. They haven't released a single thing I've ever enjoyed. There's something disingenuous about their sound - like they produce a product similar to music that has heart.
are you kidding me i love these guys
