  • Two nights at Glendalough State Park and a rainy hike up Inspiration Peak. Having the whole campground to myself with lots of hiking, cooking, wind, deer, and some rain. Did I mention the dog cemetery? Camper cabin in the prairie. #camping #hiking #minnesota #statepark

Thanks for another great video. Glendalough is truly an another gem (nice thought about Sid Hartman). No RV or trailer sites is especially nice and the trails are great. I hope the park can remain minimally developed for many years to come. I've been there a couple of times - late April and late October - and both times were quiet (lucked out I guess). November might be the optimal time; another trip/date to put on the list. It's nice to see the view from Inspiration Peak remains unspoiled. It was a regular stop when visiting family in Battle Lake back in the day. A year end review and/or thoughts on RUclips would be interesting. Happy camping! P.S. The bench/boxes at the campsites are for marauding raccoons - they're clever little critters, hence the ability to lock them.. 🙂

Those pesky raccoons, pretty sure that was what I was seeing just outside the campsite the second night. I really like that area, I stayed there the first time three years ago. The mill to the north and the town of Battle Lake were both huge highlights, just not enough time to document it this time around. Inspiration Peak was great. Thanks so much Peggy!

You can actually rent the host site in the off season. It has electricity. Just call the park office to rent it. I stayed there in my Scamp last February.

Wasn't sure anyone would make it to the end, but stuck it in there. So thank you for watching and watching until the end!

I stayed in that same cabin a couple of years ago! It was winter and I was able to ski out literally from my front door. :) Love that park!

That would be wonderful! At this point I'm actually wanting some snow. Where I go next will probably be wherever I can find some. Thanks so much!

Another fun adventure! You can't have alcohol in Minnesota state parks? Nah lol I thought this was America! Lol I say the state owes you a beer or two for all the great videos showing off the parks. Cool park either way! Thanks for sharing brother.

Yeah (in my opinion) it's an outdated law. All of the states around it's legal, but not in Minnesota. I understand why, because people get crazy and there are few park rangers to keep the the peace, but even without the alcohol, people get out of control. Maybe that's why I like camping in Iowa sometimes! Thanks Cheffen!

well, I admit I will indulge in an adult beverage when I camp in my home state. Do not believe it is a problem, as long as a person behaves.

You crammed alot of hiking on this one man!!! Glendalough is a jewel but very popular, you picked a good time to go as it can get really crowded with people and barking dogs. I actually stayed and parked right by you at site 9 back in September so it is awesome to see you there and reminisce (a little starstruck too!)! Inspiration peak in November was beautiful so thank you for the tour!!! Happy winter camping and see you soon!

I came home with about 2 hours of footage, which is alot for me, lot's of editing, but the hiking was just really enjoyable and when there's nobody around, it just makes it easier to record. Inspiration peak was something I've seen on a map and really wanted to check out, I was impressed. Thanks so much Cipher!

Love this park. I stayed there a few years ago to do a photo shoot at the nearby golf course, Balmoral which I did some paintings of which I think they still have. Love that area.

Most of my life I've done my camping mostly in the north, but the last couple of years while exploring these areas on the west side of the state, I've really been impressed. I think alot of people are missing out on these less known state parks. Thanks so much for watching!
