Wow, the singing is so beautiful, too. It's taken me time to truly hear notes that aren't in the equal-tempered scale I've grown up with. I open my ears and realize how rich music is.

I love this! Niri, you have a great voice for teaching music. Now I keep finding myself thinking “Re, Le, Mi bemol, Fa diez, Sol,,, Sol, Sol, Fa, Mi,, Sol, Faaaaa...” 😁
Hello - lovely stuff! Could you tell me - what is the purpose of the constriction of the bore near the blowing end in Arab and Turkish neys? Kawalas and kavals don't have this constriction. Is it just a difference of timbre? Or does it affect the intonation as well? Thank you.
I love your videos - thank you so much for sharing them! Is it possible to play this on a Turkish sol ney? Just started two days ago and am making first sounds. Love it already❣️
Niri, thank you so much for this beautiful video. You bring such a soulfulness to your music and your teaching, I really appreciate it. Can you tell me which Ney you are playing here? I bought your Arabic Ney D - Dukah #1, but I cannot for the life of me produce the notes on the lowest register that you play here. I don't know whether that is a limitation of the ney I have, or a limitation of its player!
hey niri ! loved this video! i was wondering where you get backtrack music to play along with when improvising ? do they have a name because i cant find anything online
I started to play ney and thaaaank you soooo much for this. Allah bless you….. and please, if you could keep doing it like on 4:56 because it is very easy then and very helpful
