This allows us to catch suspects committing criminal activities over 90% of the time. over 70% off these times we have first responders waiting for hours to collect suspects caught in the act. should SAPS not get a warning for poor service delivery instead?

What i do recall is what prompted this action to be taken - few years ago at a police station, in an urban area - there was a break in, and firearms were stolen...

We had a loud bang and our electricity went off..they turned of electricity from the electricity box outside the house, which was near to the window of one student. He thought they were holding guns...so we called the police telling them that there are to house breakers outside with a gun. Did your police not arrive an hour later? The Security guards arrived there first and the university security arrived minutes after them. SAPS fail us sometimes shem

My aunt lives in SA, when she first moved there, she was car jacked at gun point in her driveway. She did what you do in most countries, called the police. After a hour they finally showed up and took a report and left. Her Neighbour told her to contact the security company she hired. The police appear to me to be poorly trained, their personnel drawn not from the finest sort. And the police minister comes across to me as an undisciplined (and uncouth) individual who serves to inflame passions rather than to instil discipline. After the way the police have treated the public (with an overbearing and heavy hand) with these ludicrous lock down regulations, I have lost whatever residual trust there may have been towards them.

The tax we pay every month goes towards paying their salaries, but if you see the level of service one gets from SAPS in the event of an incident or crisis, it leaves a lot to be desired. There are a dedicated few but the majority of them are useless, laid back and just too blasé. If police did their jobs we wouldn't need private security.
I'm pretty sure all these companies are aware of an unlawful arrest and that will cost their companies once the lawsuit comes across if someone is unlawfully arrested. I think SAPS needs these companies, look at NOJACk they'll get out of their way to help attack crime.
I have seen it coming for a long time
Let me tell you that we were in trouble more than once where the SAPS didn't even come out and once didn't even answer their phones. But then they want to warn security companies about the law. Security companies protect us where SAPS fail us. Why should a thief or a killer deserve any respect in the first place. How is it fine for them to come into our houses that we work very hard for and threaten our lives and you expect people to treat them like humans??
