How do you know how much flow you need? I have a 80ltr with a sponge filter and have quite a lot of flow which I feel is killing my floating plants however, thought I needed high flow for water quality and aeration

I have a 75 and a 35 cube, i grow many floaters great in the 35 but on my 75 they die :/ i had a 6 gallon cube as well and they grew great. My 75 has many plants and has been set up the longest by a couple years. Yet they just die
(Edit) i think its because of the light how u mentioned, those cubes i talked about have a suspended light my 75 is basically right on the surface. I cant raise it since i have my tv on top of it but i think ima lower the water about an inch or 2. That way i could see the floaters as well and the light can spread and not torch my floaters. Thanks man definitely give that a try

Not sure duckweed is something to brag about 😅. I finally juat got mt tank 100% clear of it. Using frogbit for my floater Definitely helps filter a TON!

You need and don’t have azzola!!! It’s my absolute favorite flouting plant behind mosaic Ludwiga witch isn’t a flouting plant per say but by far the prettiest way to take up water surface. Azzola is technically it’s a small fern species. It will turn red on the edges under good lighting like red root floaters and I’d say most similar in size and growing speed to salvinia.
