I ordered one in mid-February during his introductory drop in the Buck Brown color. It's the "Goldilocks" of his lineup. Perfectly sized right in between the Finnigan and the Big Finn without the thickness.
I’ve got eight credit cards and 12 bills in mine right now and it holds them all like a champ. It’s honestly not all that much bigger than my ridge carbon fiber. I think this is the Goldilocks of all my wallets.
Great video and review as always! I was definitely interested in this wallet when Nate dropped it. Looks super functional and I like that it’s stitchless. Thanks! 👍
the wallet design is fine and it is reasonably priced. but I was sent a wallet with major defects, terrible scars on the leather, and overall just a bad piece that Nate chose to use for my wallet. Kind of a head scratcher. I emailed him twice about it and he never responded. So I gave him notice that I would not be doing business with him anymore...at that point he did respond with "okay." So I can't give anything more than a 2/5 just for the service. Sorry!
I will say that I hope my wallet comes nice because I have had similar customer experience as you. The seller is terrible when it comes to responding. I have emailed him twice without response. I ordered mine two weeks ago. After a week, I emailed asking about the status. I then noticed the next day a ticket was made with UPS to start shipping. However, nothing more happened for 5 more days when I received a message that shipping has received product. Hope the product is better than the customer service.
Tough call man really. The Houbei 2.0 is one of my favorite wallets out right now and that’s part of the Topsider series. But this Franklin has its advantages too
Love this one. It reminds me also of the stitchless, Loyal Stricklin “Johnny” wallet. That one doesn’t have the cash wrap option, and side access to the cash (where I think you could put a credit card for quick access, too, if you wanted). I love that one, too. Not sure but I think the Franklin is slightly bigger, but really the same capacity.
I have both the loyal Johnny and the Dutchman Franklin. The Franklin is smaller and holds more while having more pockets and I don’t have to fold my cash. I’ll be giving my Johnny away to a buddy as unfortunately I don’t use it anymore after getting the Franklin. Don’t get me wrong the Johnny is a good wallet but the folded cash functionality makes it a deal breaker for me when the Franklin gives a quick draw option for both cards and cash.
@@leetmango thanks for your comment - I really don’t much care about the cash-wrap feature, would likely fold cash in half with both wallets. This is an individual thing, obviously! But I do care about quick access to one or two cards. So wondering if the Johnny would have a problem with retention if putting both folded cash and a card in the “cash pocket”. They’re both really nice looking wallets!
Love my Franklin. Got the russet color.. it really is the perfect wallet. Love that it’s stitchless and will last forever!

I ordered my Franklin from Lost Dutchman the day he released it and it’s been nothing but amazing ever since I’ve received it!
I also have the big fin but like the Franklin much better.

I picked one up also during the launch and I have three of the Big Finns. All are great.
I’m really digging this wallet. Thanks for the review

Thanks for the review brother!!
Nice looking wallet. I like the no stitching. I just bought the Finnigan, otherwise I would definitely consider this.

Scarring on full grain leather is normal. In fact the more scars the better in my opinion. How bad was it?

I did receive the wallet and it is a new favorite for sure.
Just got one of these in shell cordovan, it’s absolutely awesome!!! A different maker made it but the design is identical
You sold me brother ! Hey support my fellow leatherworkers what the Heck !
got mine and I love it
Great job my brother that’s wonderful
Can’t understand comment about well finished edges. They look fuzzy and unfinished. Certainly wouldn’t be happy to receive in that condition
The edges looked nice. But the fuzzy edges were coming from the inside that were sort of poking out from what I saw on the wallet
I like the look of it. I'd be curious to see what the wallet looks like after a year of wear, in and out of the pocket....
It’s made of full grain leather so this wallet will look better after a year of use and wear. It’s guaranteed for life as well 👍🏻
I wish it was smaller and not as wide. I carry 5-6 cards and even with cash...the cards move around quite a bit.
They do have a mini one, but you have to fold cash more.
@@Pokeonrocks5 check how long ago I commented lol I’m well aware now
Nice Review! Amazing I have made no stitch wallet with snaps but only folds I would have to see the pattern !
Nice love the wallet. Btw what watch are you wearing, that looks amazing too!
A Timex Chronograph Standard. The band is from Popov Leather
It is good one
Would you check out the Gondek leather envelope wallet
There is no burnishing on those edges. If there was they wouldn't be fuzzy
👍🏻
Would you got this wallet or Reform RE02 if I really only carry 4-5 cards?
I’m trying to decide between the Franklin and the topsider. Which do you prefer or recommend more. Thanks

@@ChrispyThings out of the two you mentioned what would be better carried with 9 cards and cash
Loved the review of the Franklin! What knives are you displaying during the review?
That’s a Vero Neuron in brass.

the problem i see is this stretching over time and getting too loose if you want to carry or need to carry less one day.
That’s a concern with all leather wallets.
Absolutely something to always consider and mention with leather wallets
@@thisgustinjust buy the Franklin and then the mini Franklin for when you want to carry less lol
@@WesternRAM lol, naw that's too much. Less is better for me/my use.
Skin cuts are not processed. An inconvenient thing. Barely shoved banknotes
