I have a salt water pool. And when I heard that we did I was SOOOOO happy because I don’t have to worry a lot of chlorine damage.😅
Trends&Challenges luckyyyyyy!!!
Adison._.Bangtan is that at apartment where you live or something
ARMY!! lol im late
Salt water dries your hair
@@krazykera9420 better than chlorine though
Love it,
1. Wet hair
2. Condition hair or Use coconut oil
3. Wash hair after
i’m a lifeguard so I HAVE to get in the pool pretty much everyday for 2 months straight and what’s been helping me is putting in leave-in-conditioner before i get in. Also, i’ve been using coconut oil to protect it also
Thanks so much I was so nervous about tomorrow because me and my bestie are going swimming when I finally got nice smooth hair and I don’t wanna kill it again 😂😂😓
Aww glad I can be of some help! Hope you had funn!! 😊💕
Anasophia kittlitz i have swimming at my school the first day tomorrow and i don’t have a swim cap😭
same here but my hair is finally healthy and i’m getting my curls back (5 years heat damage)
Same, every summer my hair gets massively damaged 😔
I feel you on that
I’m testing this today !!! I just started working as a swim instructor and I need to keep my hair protected but don’t want to look like a dork everyday with a swim cap lol
did it work?:)
Did it work :D
I messed up my curls so bad and I’m a swim instructor, im quitting soon :(
SAME HERE!! I just started working as a swim instructor and I'm in the water for 4 hours a day.... I'm looking forward for cap or some oils, conditioners to protect my hair. I have really long hair... to my butt!
The little mermaid hair flip at the end 😂🙌
Haha, you spotted that 👏🏽😝
i like that you are so simple and you dont use too many products
This video helped my hair SO MUCH after the first go. Thankyou!
I’m visiting my dad for a month and he’s got a pool in his complex that I’ve been doing laps in everyday. In just two weeks my hair became so dry and brittle. All the good products I use weren’t helping. I tried a swimming cap, it was useless, then I tried using leave in conditioners and oils. Still didn’t help.
So this morning I wet my hair. Added conditioner, then coiled my hair in a bun. Then did a light wash when I got out of the pool.
My hair feels so soft!
What a game changer. I’ll do this everyday for the rest of my holiday.
But I have a question. Even when you do apply the conditioner isn't it still going to come out when your swimming? Just like if you are in the shower. So how is the conditioner protecting the hair from chlorine?
The conditioner stops the CHLORINE from getting to the hair. It will most likely wash out but at least it stops most of the chlorine
@@miah2907 doesn’t the conditioner going to get out when your in the water ?
@@darlinekajoanus8353 Yeh It does. Its best to put a swimming cap on if you use conditioner. Also, its not good for the pool to have conditioner through the water.
@@katrinamareen I've read this in several articles about pool maintenance, as well as hair protection. According to my research (and as advised in the video), soaking the hair in non- chlorinated water and/or using a generous coating of coconut oil (which will absorb into the hair and prevent hydrating fatigue) works well.
It doesn’t as long as you can leave it in for a bit and it’ll protect just put it on before you change your clothes
You will not beleve how much this helped me I grew up in a apartment with a pool and chlorine in it and I was going inside the pool EVERY. SINGLE. DAY And it was really damage in my hair so when we moved I started taking care of my hair but still went to pools often and my hair would still be damaged even if I tried taking care of it. After I saw this video my problems where solved. No more dry hair after the pool. This really he,led me. Make sure to sub to her
Awww I’m so happy to hear I helped!!! 🙏🏼❤️🥰 thank you!!!
i’d love to soak my hair before getting into the pool...but then my hair disappears...
I-
shrinkage😭😭😭✋🏾✋🏾✋🏾
SAMEEE I have crazy shrinkage my family b askin me if I cut my hair🤦🏾♀️that shit makes me so mad
Niabi Robinson the pool is the reason why it shrinks-
@@SukiiiSuxx oh just re read the comment soz
Your hair is the most beautiful hair I’ve ever seen!😍😍
My daughter has blonde hair so of course she gets the green ends after swimming. Stumbled upon your video and you are gorgeous💜 love love love your natural hair😍 Thanks for uploading!
Vaseline is helpful too..i've been using vaseline in my hair when i go swimming for about 2 years now and it prevents my hair from being damaged/dry...btw i have curly hair🙂
omg another sherrese!😂 mine is spelled just a little differently but yours is definitely the closest I’ve found, its so rare to find one of us lol, your hair is so pretty girl!
Omggg!! Double “e’s” instead of “r’s” that’s definitely the closest I’ve found too.. that is so cool, I automatically feel connected LOL. Most definitely rare 😌👊🏽 & aww thanks girl! And thanks for watching 💕
I just spray me hair coated with leave in conditioner then when I’m done swimming first thing I do is get in the shower!
Yess!! 🙌🏽
I have natural hair and I don’t want to have to wash it every other day because it heard it dries your hair out, is there anything else I can do after swimming?
Ok see I unknowingly did this the other day and my hair was fine and then yesterday I went swimming again but I didn’t do what I did before and my hair was so dry and tangled after 😭😭 so now I know to keep doing that and I’ll be fine lol thanks!!!
Love this! I have yellow hair at the tips and it’s so hard protecting it.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful 😊
thx so much my parents signed me up for a swimming class right when i’m trying to grow out my hair (it’s everyday for 2 weeks) hopefully these tips work
Did they work for you?
@@oreoloversavage1181 they made it so the chlorine didn’t completely damage my hair so it’s easier to bounce back. but i did get a trim at the end of summer which helped a lot! my hair was able to go back to normal in like a week
i also put coconut oil in my hair now and it helps a little more
Thanks! I guess I was already using some of those tips without realizing it and that is why I never had any issues with my hair due to swimming...
I Can't Put Up My Hair Because I Have Scoliose 😓
I love the video. Great tips and not 10 minutes of talk before getting the information. Subbie here!!
Thank you! ❤️
If you have bleached hair and want to get your hair wet but is afraid the chlorine molecules will turn your hair green will these tips help as well for that situation?
Will the products mess up the pool at all? Or does the chlorine just kill it?
No they don’t! You won’t notice it at all. I assume the chlorine just deals with it lol
YES. It will wreck the pool. People who say it doesn’t aren’t financially responsible for the pool.
Thank you thank you thank you. I’ve taken up swimming for health, my hair however is so unhappy. I appreciate you! X
Thank you so much for this! I just moved back to Florida and I LOVE to swim! I can’t wait to use these tips!!
Nicely done video. Very professional and clean 1 piece. (For younger viewers) Thanks for the information. My daughter is on a swim team and practices 5x a week for 1 1/2 hours. Recently she pulled out some hair when taking off swim cap😣. I REALLY appreciate this video, and some of the comments!
This is so thankful because I go to a water park tomorrow and my mom always says if you get your hair wet we’re gonna have to wash it and it takes like 45 min to wash my hair
Won’t the conditioner go into the pool?
Wouldn't the conditioner make the water soapy??
CoCo J not necessarily, when I use it it doesn’t make the water soapy at all. I also don’t put tooo much into my hair just enough to coat my hair once and I recommend putting your hair up into a bun. If you are hesitant about the conditioner making the water soapy, the easiest solution is what I mentioned in the video - just soaking your hair throughly with water to fill up your hair cuticles.
Nope!
CoCo J
Since when does conditioner lather? Shampoo, yes! But conditioner doesn't. 🙄
CoCo J
If you are asking if the conditioner would leave a cloudy film in the pool, then the answer is yes. But that is no big issue at all
Dumb ass lol
Can i simply add coconut oil to dry hair before jumping into the pool without soaking hair with fresh water?
Im a swimmer with curly hair and have practice 6 times a week i needed this gideo cuz i dont eant to go bald by the age of 25😂
Thx very much
And thanks for the tips!!
Thank you so much! I love swimming and have an annual ticket for all the public pools in my town, but my hair is damaged from a perm and that got me worried. Now I know what to do! Greetings and many thanks from Vienna
Does anyone know if aqua guard works for 4c hair/black hair
I would use conditioner and then coat with Vaseline. Water beads up on Vaseline. After wash and do a moisture mask. Rinse, then oils and a leave in conditioner last.
Does this work If you have box braids
I’m getting my hair done in braids tomorrow for my birthday, and we are going to the beach on Sunday. Will the salt water damage the braids?
Gosh you’re gorgeous!!!! I’m a huge fan of women who swim!!!!
Do you know if we can use hair grease?
is leave in conditioner okay?
i have swim class at school that’s dumped with chemicals as you can imagine, thanks!
Will putting castor oil after swimming helps? Instead of doing this?
No not really, your hair will already be saturated with chemicals
Thank you for tip bro. I am using *Pashator* swimming cap and goggle set. It is easy fit and high quality. I bought from amazon just 9 usd.
Thank you! This is so helpful because I’m going to my friends pool party today! :>
My hair isn't as long as yours it's like neck length when it's allowed dried will it work still?
Thanks so much!! Hadn't went swimming now I can yass😍
WHAT I NEVER WHERE A CAP IN THE POOL I NEVER NEW IT COULD DAMAGE MY HAIR
Lucky Arts i’m dedddd
Hilarious
Such simple yet effective tips. Thanks!
i searched this up because me and my friends are going to a water park. we hate going to a pool because of the products they use in the pool
I got my hair dyed blonde and forgot I had a pool pass and go almost everyday to the pool I’m worried it could ruin my hair what should I do?
Tysm for this video!
Thank you very much. I will use your tips
And also I can’t use conditioner in the school shower until I’m in 8th grade idk why but that’s just their rules so I just go to the bathroom and put the conditioner on?
What type of conditioner
My hair is rebunded icant protect it or not?
Can I replace it with serum
I’m not trying to grow my hair out but I just don’t want to wash it when I get home
I feel you, I get so lazy too. I use to not wash it out but I realized it’s really not good for your hair
YAYY! I needed this video! Thank you! ❤️🍍🌊🏝🤟
Needed for swim qual! Thank you -subbed
So helpful because i was in summer camp and we would go to the pool 2 times a week i wanted to grow my hair out over the summer and it did grow like 2in but if it was not for the chlorine it would probably have grown like 3 or 4 in
THANK YOU THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR TY.
by damage do u mean it stops growing and begins to fall out?
It could get really dry, and the chemicals will strip your hair of its natural oils. Which can eventually lead to a lot of split ends and breakage, which stops growth.
@@SherreseNana thanks for letting me know, most youtubers dnt reply to videos posted a year ago 🤗
Haha I try my best to respond to everyone! & Anytime! Hope I helped! 💕
But my hair is flat ironed and i cant wet it
Ahh than it is best to use a swim cap girl!
Sherrese Slone swim caps don’t keep ur hair dry lol it just reduces drag and makes u go faster
I’m just talking from what Ive heard, 🤷🏽♀️ I haven’t used a swim cap but apparently there are waterproof ones and different types that keep your hair relatively dry. Which I think the best suggestion if your hair is flat ironed and ur desperate to swim. I can’t seem to think of any other solution that might work as best as a cap would. Yes it’s for drag, but that’s the best solution I got for her lol. If you can think of something else that may work for her, I would love to know.
@@lauraroberts4882 they've always kept my hair dry 🤷🏾♂️
Did you know most showers in your house has chlorine in the water
Hey I have a question, would this work on colored hair? (Blue hair)
Yeah for sure! Any of these steps will work for coloured hair- if you opt for the conditioner way, instead of using just a regular conditioner just use one that says it’s for colour treated hair, or protects colour. Other than that, all the solutions mentioned in the video will work. 😊
The conditioner does not bubble so its ok👌👍👳
Ummm I tried putting coconut oil and conditioner in my hair and it was too damn slippery. My cap almost slipped or even after a 25😫😫😤😤
ur hair is so nice x
will this help for dyed hair to?
It should, you can use a colour protector conditioner instead, or something for colour treated hair.
Thank uuuu
Can men use this too pls answer?
Yes they can
helpful!!!
wait...I think I've been there before... ARE YOU IN FLORDA
Any conditioner? Like with sulfates, silicones and parabens? Those are ok too?
Um but my hair is so hard to comb after swimming i think i will upload some thing at October 25 so watch if ill upload and not forget this👍👍
My pool is open from 9am to 11pm I’m happy🙂
The pool will not have a conditioner unless you put the conditioner at the pool haha
Oh so that's why my friends put conditioner in their hair..how do I get cholrine out?
Just washing it will help to get it out. But dont leave it sitting in your hair for long, its a strong chemical
But what about ur at school? Like we have swimming lessons and we can’t take that long rinsing our hair in the shower for 5 min cuz we have class and stuff
I have my hair dyed pink and I don't
Have a swim cap and I don't want
It to fade so ya I have chlorine poll😑😑
I. Ment pool not poll😒
I was gunna do the oil in hair part but I’m going to a dam waterpark shit😐 and it’s gunna be hot
im not doing this every swim practice bruh
as a swimmer all i have to say is that a swim cap does not help you at all from damaged hair trust me.
Am I going to rinse my hair after putting conditioners?
No you swim with it in your hair
wait so the conditioner won’t get into the pool?
eb spivey no so the chlorine wont get into your hair 🤦🏽♀️
x_. miyah ._x oh girl i messed up i mean conditioner😂😂😂
eb spivey ohhh and i don't think it will because it has oils in it and water and oil don't mix 🧐 if it does the chlorine should take care of it
you do realize all that conditioners going to wash out while you swim right? and make the pool gross
No time for this when you’re forced to swim twice a week at school 😭
Where is your swimsuit from!?!?
I mean soapy
I will not mess my pool up putting conditioner in it
Your legs are goals
😆
I like pretending to be a mermaid
I hate when women get hair product in the pool water. Just get a swimming cap.
i’m a lifeguard so I HAVE to get in the pool pretty much everyday for 2 months straight and what’s been helping me is putting in leave-in-conditioner before i get in. Also, i’ve been using coconut oil to protect it also
