DIY Stainless Steel Exhaust tip Make an exhaust tip like this at home, without any special tools. All you need from tools are a welder and an angle grinder.
Great job... however, in the first part of the laying out process, he need not take the trouble to calculate all those "pies" etc.... just take a piece of paper and wrap it around the pipe and mark the circumferemce. Then just divide it by the number you want.
Another approach could have been using a cone of cardboard, like kids have on their head on their birthday. Using the larger diameter as the base and the smaller one up as high as the length you want between the 2 pipes. Cut it at that point horizontally and use the lower part on the stainless steel. Only welds will be on each end and the closing. Less welding, less polishing.
Thanks, for cleaning the welds I use Pferd Polifan A40 SG, after that sanding discs p80, p150 and p240 than polishing with some "no name" stainless polishing kit (polishing pad and blue compound)
Of course, there is an easier way to do this, but this is a DIY project that anyone with a welder can do. Also in this case the difference in pipe diameter is 30mm, so cheap pipe expanders would hardly do the job.

Good info!
Easier: just fold the paper 3 times in half to get the 8 stripes!! 2/2, 4/4 and 8/8!
No calculation at all!
You are a wizard 🧙🏻♂ This is a good lesson of mechanical handicraft! Thank you friend!
Ну что я могу сказать? Ахуенно! Надо попробовать так же. А то я постоянно пытаюсь найти переходники для трубы в нужный мне размер!

A cheap pipe expander is easier and doesn't take 8 hours of Fab and you don't need a welder.

Ebay $5
Красиво. Но почему без поддува?
In the time it took you just to do the math I ordered two for $9 each stainless steel. My labor loans worth more than that
So what.
It's about using tools and fabrication. There's going to be a time when the part you want isn't available on line, what do you do now?
