    I think what we as women need to really consciously get away from, is what you said in this video. We are not wrong, the clothing is just wrong for us. ❤ I have been reminding myself this when I shop, and it is such a powerful mindset shift. 💥

    I took my "skinny wardrobe and donated a few pieces, sold some to a consignment shop, and a few classic well cut pieces that I loved I put in a box and stored. These will fit me if I loose 10-15 lbs and I am working out again and hopefully can stay on my healthy eating through the holidays. If within a year they still don't fit i have a reminder on my Google calendar to sell or donate them.

    I just am asked for giant bags of clothing between my closet, what was stored in my house, and what was stored in the garage to take to my local clothing reseller… I was so frustrated with the amount I have accumulated that I decided to just stick with the most basic pieces and get rid of most of my patterns and colors. Then I found your channel… I’m going to put a pause on taking those bags in because of the way I felt putting several of those pieces in! I really hesitated, but decided enough was enough so I needed to be more strict with myself. Thank you so much for creating content about personal style that doesn’t just include color, but is color!

    • @PriskaJordan

      WOW, I love this so much! 🙌 The most important thing to remember is that style is personal. If colors & patterns make you feel most like yourself, then try creating new outfits with those pieces before you resell them. Thanks for your comment, Ashlynn!

      I love to hear it! 🙌 As I mentioned in my spring trends video, mixing business & casual wear is a strong trend right now -- and one we can all benefit from, because we'll get more wear out of each piece in our closets.

    As mentioned, one of my tips came from a subscriber: "Put your donations pile in the hallway closet for a month to ensure you aren't tossing something prematurely." If you have tips like this -- for any of my videos -- please share them in the comments! I value them, and I know other people who read them feel the same. ❤

      I must admit that I’ve had donation remorse a couple of times. Not something I took to a charity shop but gave an item to someone who needed it and I had other things to wear. Remorse for two reasons: the person was shorter and more petite than me so it was not a good fit. I didn’t think of it at the time. And it was an item that was very useful in particular circumstances. I realised that in future it would probably be better to buy them something that fitted them well, even in a charity shop that actually fitted better and was to their taste (which they would like wearing and not pass up or pass on at the earliest opportunity)

    I had a skinny wardrobe, lost weight and can enjoy these few pieces now, that I didn't want to give away, so it isn't just an urban myth😂, but it was a conscious decision to lose weight not bad conscience, alrhough to be able to wear the skinny pieces again motivated me a lot

    Hello Priska! I just discovered your channel and i'm so happy i did!!! Every video you post is helping me so much, and it definitely helps me understand myself better. I just lost a lot of weight, and came back to my normal size. A size that i feel happy with, not an "ideal" that is not sustainable. I now love my curvy body! Anyway, when i lost the weight, i "binge bought", feeling the urge to make up for the time i was "bigger". And of course, I'm overwhelmed and i don't feel good at all. I'm lost! So when i stumbled upon your channel, i immediately knew i found what i desperately needed. I used to have a very unique style, and your videos reminded me of that! You're so beautiful, smart and inspiring, thank you for doing such a wonderful job by sharing your personnal experience! ❤😊

I'm so glad you're connecting with my perspective and that this video in particular was helpful to you.

    ❤ loved the video! I did struggle with being sentimental about clothes, I now only have 6 or 7, just kept the most precious ones. I treat them more as just sentimental items though rather than functional clothes, I don’t store them in my wardrobe. Like a top hand made by my great grandmother for my moms prom, or my wedding dress etc…. I liked your point about forwarding your blessings to somebody else it’s a very nice way to think about it. Ps, not sure if a cobbler could fix the loud shoe with a rubber layer maybe but that would make it even taller 🤔

    • @PriskaJordan
      @PriskaJordan  Год назад

      Awww yes, definitely cherish those handmade clothing pieces. There's definitely a distinction between sentimental and family treasures. Treasures aren't clutter. :) Thanks for your suggestion with the boots. They are too tall, but I'm sure someone else will be happy to own them.

    I'm glad you brought up the part about slim line shoes and wide hips. I always wondered why mine looked wrong and never thought about it being my hip size for some reason. Most channels advise against chunky without taking that into consideration. Great food for thought.

    Now being in menopause last summer here in queensland we had burning hot temps even though i wore cotton t shirts i nearly went crazy with hot flashes so i have had to totally replace my wardrobe with bamboo, modal & linen which is very popular here for our upcoming summer even women in their 20s are wearing linen so none of my outfits are old pre menopause me or outdated styles..
    It's been hard to go through menopause but i'm wearing very current clothing styles as long as they are tasteful for my age i'm definitely not 30 anymore ❤ thank you

    That gold/bronze bridesmaid dress doesn’t scream bridesmaid dress on repeat to me, it looks fairly normal, except I personally don’t like the way it plunges so deeply. Not really something I would feel comfortable wearing say to an evening with friends (dinner party) might be ok going to a symphony concert or theatre.
    Then again I would not feel comfortable wearing it as a bridesmaid dress but that’s me.
    It fits you beautifully though
    If it were not for that plunge, it looks fairly normal

    • @PriskaJordan
      @PriskaJordan  Год назад

      Yeah, the plunge sets it off as a formal dress... I've decided to part ways with it. It's a designer dress, so I should be able to resell it on Postmark. Thanks for your analysis. That's helpful to confirm I made the right call. 🙏
