Aw! Didn't want this video to end! So helpful! I thrift shop and therefore usually declutter too much and bring in too much on a too regular basis... time to make some changes in 2024.
I’m am so so glad I found your channel! I’m a bright winter, curvy/busty & tall and I want my style to feel put together with bold color and a vintage nod.
This is a great video! I appreciate how you explain what looks good and what doesn't, particularly with colors. I never paid much attention to which colors look good or bad on me, but it really does make a difference. Thanks for the video!
Great video! ☺ My last closet declutter I realized that most clothes I got rid of were due to my frequent weight fluctuations between sizes XS to XL (much less than due to quality and style issues, there I got a bit better over the years 😅). And I'm really tired of it, I don't want to replace my clothes anymore, whether I'm smaller or bigger, as I still love a lot of those clothes and would totally wear them, if they fit. So this year I'll challenge myself to make size inclusive clothes myself. I'm getting better at sewing and there are a ton of cute wrapped, tied, belted, gathered etc. styles. Especially for the bottoms where I "grow" 🍑😅the most...
Hi, Priska! Amazing video: from you i learnt to choose jeans accordingly to my curves and pay attention to pockets! When i was in highschool (now i am 37), i was wearing all the time flared jeans, but when the skinny trend was arrived i was no longer pleased of my curves...i was struggling to find jeans that really suit me, but now i resolved the problem: flared jeans! Thanks to you!
I like how you compiled all these together. The first jeans looked cute but wow, those pockets on the bottom were really placed unevenly haha. What I am doing lately is trying to declutter when I find something doesn't work out for me. For instance, the other day I wore a crop top in a beautiful coral color, which, while suiting my complexion well and awarding me compliments from co-workers, was so short that made me pull it down every now and then, being concerned how it would show my skin despite having a suuuuper high waisted skirt. So I'd rather declutter pieces that eventually won't work out for me, rather and doing a crazy declutter day when you're all confused and don't really know how the clothes and accessories translate to the "day-to-day life". I hope this tip helps maybe you and others.
That's good! 🙌 And how I declutter, too: piece by piece, as I wear them. This was my final review of my declutter pile that I assembled over the season. Trying on those jeans made it painfully obvious that they were never going to be a valued asset in my closet. 🙈 Haha!
Need to declutter nicer quality size 14- 16P, XL, 1X etc So happy to be smaller, eating only plants does it. But the nice$ clothes are harder to let go of
Congratulations! 😊 I totally agree -- sometimes we hold on for longer than it's helpful, just because of price. That's why I say don't buy the cheapest quality, but don't expect to wear a high quality piece for the rest of your life... it's just not realistic to our habits.
OMG...the first description made my day...so love the humor....how many of us have done that , buying something to wear somewhere else? LOL....I LOVE those emerald cords!!!!
I've definitely experienced all the emotions of decluttering items. Sometimes we keep things for a past, future or fantasy self and it simply doesn't work for our present selves. I'm at the stage now that I get excited, sometimes overexcited to declutter. I recently pulled back on a pr of short rain boots Bec I never found myself reaching for them, they're a shiny patent style, but this season it rained & snowed and I needed them! So they are a keeper...for now. I feel like obtaining and ridding of items is always in process..
Great point! There are different versions of ourselves that don't exist in the present... Yes, it's a process, and I've heard someone else term it the ever-revolving wardrobe. The less stuff that enters, the less stuff we feel pressured to declutter. There's a balance to it, and it sounds like you're getting there. 🙌
Loved this video. I have too many pieces of knitwear that I bought in the last couple of years because I didn’t have enough neutral basics. After watching your videos I no longer feel guilty that wearing loads of grey and white doesn’t bring me joy so the white sweaters are on the way out! So are the expensive jeans I’ve had for ten years but only wear once a year because they’re too long for flats - classic lifestyle misalignment.
I declutter my closet at least twice annually but what I *REALLY* need to do is go through it and put on each and every item and take a pic to see how I not only how i feel about it but how I LOOK in it in reality ;)
Love ❤️ this video I’m already declutter it all my wardrobe and now I can see my clothes and stuff I feel I have my control of my own life 😅 take care ❤
I need to do this and great points. I have some pants that are excellent quality but I have to do the tug, tug tug. I’m not that big back there,…lol. But so many clothes are made for flatter rears. For the hats what are you going to replace your summer hat with? Also I’ve noticed I wear my solid colored tee’s more than a logo or stripped tee. I went through a classic boring color era as I returned to full time working think that was going to be “more versatile” but I find I feel blah, without color. My goal is to invest more in colors.
I'm not sure if you could notice on my wall, but I bought a white straw fedora last year. I wear it to the pool almost daily to cover my face. And it doesn't get caught in the wind like the downward shaped brim of the one I decluttered. Yeah, I went through the same era... 😂 I have helpful videos on colorful outfits on my channel. I hope that inspires you!
Oh I thought it was just a Beige fedora. Yeah I wear a lot of fedoras because of the wide brim but the ones I bought for summer don’t quit work for me.
Quite a few! I have this gorgeous red midi dress and a pearl encrusted bustier, among SEVERAL other items. My body has changed in the past year and a half and I know in my head those items that I love so much will probably never fit me again. I’ve kept them all this time for sentimental reasons 😅 but I’m in a new phase of my life. Maybe it’s time now 🥹
Yesss, lean into that newfound revelation! If you've ever seen Marie Kondo, I find her gratitude practice really works for me. You hug the piece and say thank you for the good times. Then, it feels like a proper send-off. Sounds kooky, but works!
Ooh, let's talk about hats! I'm thinking about growing out my graying hair and there will be a time or two that I will want to cover that transition. Any ideas about indoor hats?
Good for you! If you're in a cooler climate, a beanie is cozy. In a warmer climate, ball caps can be super cute, but you do have to create a real hairstyle. I've recently been pairing ball caps with braids. It's a sporty look. But a smaller fedora works indoors, too.
I have four pairs of high-heeled ankle boots. They are for the woman I was, 15 years ago. I love that woman but I can't wear her shoes. Guess what I'll be doing, next weekend...
Good question! I stopped wearing t-shirts, because I always felt worse about myself in them...even when I was lounging. I wear yoga pants & tank tops, a sweatshirt I cut into cropped length so it's more flattering for my curvy frame and short torso. But often when I work from home, I just wear a stretchy dress. The same ones I would wear out & about. They're comfy to me, but I feel & perform better in them.
One day I was looking at my closet wondering: Why keep my best pieces in there, and live most of my life in my B-team clothes? I haven’t turned back since!
I just declutter yesterday a red real leather jacket that was too tight from the start and the red was too orange for my taste. I tried to sell it two times and no one wanted it maybe because it was an Xs and a crazy color. I was feeling guilty everytime I saw it in my wardrobe and now I feel so releaved.
BTW, Quince has a beautiful washable silk dress to replace your teal dress you said wasn't great quality....it looks like your style....square neck, fitted bodice, bottom gentle ruffle...

It's all a part of the journey, but yes, it's a great time to analyze your habits and change. Take advantage of that natural momentum.
I’m am so so glad I found your channel! I’m a bright winter, curvy/busty & tall and I want my style to feel put together with bold color and a vintage nod.
Groovy! Thanks for being here! 🤗🤗
Perfect timing! not even 2 min into the video this is what i'll be going this weekend! Thank you😊
Lovely! I hope you enjoy the process and learn a ton 🤗

I'm glad to help! 😊
The flared shape really suits you !
Thank you, Debbie! 🥰
This is so helpful! Polyester also makes me sweat 😂 I have basically only natural fibers in my wardrobe now and it’s so much better.
Me too! Good to know I am not alone
Love the helpful list…thank you for the decluttering examples! ❤
I'm happy to showcase my worst to make it painfully obvious 😂
Great video! ☺

That sounds like a great plan! 🙌 I hope you find your rhythm with clothes making, and it's fruitful for you. It sounds like a relaxing hobby, too!

Perfect! 🙌 An easy solution -- it just took a different point of view to realize what you need to wear.

Hi! Maybe you could do valentine's day outfits or generally date night outfits next? 😊
Great idea! I'll try to get that out shortly.

I really have to declutter my jeans and pants now

Yesss! Align your clothes to your lifestyle, and you'll save time in the long run. 🙌
Thank you for another great video! I get so excited when you upload. Keep em coming girl! 😊
Thank youuu! 🥰🙏

Precisely! 👏 This was my final viewing before donating these clothes, and it made it *crystal clear* for me. So, I'm sure it will do the same for you.
Love ❤️ this video I’m already declutter it all my wardrobe and now I can see my clothes and stuff I feel I have my control of my own life 😅 take care ❤
This video had so many great tips and insights. Jam packed!! Your content is top notch!
I watch many videos of this type and you truly had some original ideas and ways of presenting them. Great video!
I appreciate that! 🤗

Question Priska...what do you wear for loungewear? Im curious because you said you no longer wear t-shirts.

I love that! I never lounge around in dresses, but I may have to try it to see if I like it. Thanks! 😊

Yay! Godo for you!! 👏 👏 🙌 What remains is more suited for who you are in 2024.

You know me well. 🥰🥰 I’ll have to look. Thanks!
I'm a new minimalist-ish girl, but I'm searching for a new pair of boots like yours....whats the brand??
Good for you!! These are from Tory Burch, but last winter's boots so likely sold out.
