      @@GoCarolinaWild If you have not gone yet, Flagpole Knob is a fun trip. There are several spots where you can disperse camp. The balsam forest made the air smell so good! The stone house on Union Springs is a neat thing to see too. We did those in our suburban.

      It's funny you say that. We are actually headed there as we speak for our second visit in the last 2 months! 🤣 Go check out our "Pushing the limits" video of our last visit!
      We are hoping to see some snow this weekend!

    Great video! We've done the Bald Mountain 4x4 trail 8-10 times in our stock suburban with 31" AT tires with no issues. We loved seeing some of our favorite camping places in your video.

      @@GoCarolinaWild Not too bad. We were able to buff most of them out. We'll head back up there for an overnight on the mountain soon. It's about three hours from our home so it's a nice getaway without a long drive. If you return, there is a family who sells firewood nearby. It's close to the Sherando Lake entrance to Big Levels. The country store near that entrance is a pretty neat stop too.

    You have the exact same set up we do, down to the Opus w/ annex and a white Rubicon Gladdy…Irony. We were up on Big Levels 2 weeks ago and I was unsure if the jeep and trailer would make it around those tight switch backs on the first part of the trail. Good to see that it can, there is a great spot up after the Laurel tunnels. As far as your gasket leaking on your trailer, clean them and apply dielectric grease on the gaskets. And those compression latches are adjustable to tighten up the seal.

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад +1

      That's amazing! Best setup ever! We were a little hesitant about the trail at first, but then we just decided to go for it, lol. The only place that doesn't have a proper seal is the door. This is due to the gasket being aged and loose, and the door latches not tigtening enough, we believe. Maybe one day we will meet each other out on the trail and the Opus' and Glady's can have a play date😆😆

    Big Levels is my single-favorite Virginia trail. I've run it dozens of times, and have seen those water pits almost 3 feet deep, and seen them bone dry. It's truly a great trail!

      We really loved this trail! We wish it wasn't as tight in some areas, but other than that, a great trail! Thank you for the comment!

    Hey, we made the video! It was great to meet you guys. And yes, we stopped to make sure you got through that water crossing ok. It shorted out my alternator, but thankfully once it dried out it started working again.
    Good times! Love your videos, keep up the good work.

      Hey! It was so great meeting yall as well! We can definitely say that we underestimated the depth of that water crossing. We thought we had already passed the deep one, and bot were we wrong, haha! The whole family has been sick for the last month, but hoping to get back out soon! Thanks for the reply, and hope to meet on the trails again!

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад +1

      I believe the exhaustion on our faces is more from a child who enjoys keeping us up at night 😆. I think anyone who wakes up and starts filming themselves is going to look "like they just woke up" 🤣🤣. We sleep better out there than we do at home!

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад +1

    If there is an issues with the fridge. Dometic has a great 3 year replacement warranty. I have a CFX3 75 that I purchased back in 2020. And this thermostat messed up to the point it was running all the time and they sent me a brand new one at no cost, Just had to ship the original back to them, They paid for freight on the return shipment also.

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад +2

      I wonder if that could work for us. We bought the Opus used, and the fridge came with it. We are definitely going to give it a try! Thanks for the heads up, Plonk!!

    excellent video with beautiful views.
    one advantage to having a White Jeep is pinstriping doesn't show up as bad as darker colored vehicles do.

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад +1

      Thank you for the compliment and reply! You are 100% right about pinstripes not showing up as bad on a white vehicle. The Opus definitely got it a lot worse the the Jeep 🫣

    what kind of tires on the jeep?

      Have you considered an axle flip that could solve your problem of water in the camper I have one on my boat trailer adds a few inches of clearance

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад

      @trumantolleson6641 the Opus camper sits on two independent gas shocks so that unfortunately wouldn't work, and I would have to get an actual suspension lift. The good news is that the puddles didn't flood the Opus. The rain flooded my fridge compartment because I forgot to close it, lol.

    How long does it take u to deploy your tent?

    • @GoCarolinaWild
      @GoCarolinaWild  Год назад

      Without the Annex, about 5 minutes. With the Annex, about 12-15 minutes. With the Annex + Annex floor and apron, about 25-30 minutes.
      Time can be factored differently when there is more than one person - aka- it is so much easier with help!
