i have camped there a couple of times and several times right at the pool, where it used to be a big meadow before the forest began it reclamation effort. i've caught natives out of the stream and enjoyed the battle they presented me. one of my favorite experiences while hunting across the creek up on the side was when a flock of turkeys surrounded me as they were on their evening feeding frenzy. i was on the ground in my camo, as I was whitetail hunting, and I had a gobbler step over my extended legs. what a great experience. thanks for the video.
Wow that is incredible!! Thank you for sharing that story.. I could tell the area was recovering. As a hunter myself, that would be some great terrain to hunt! I’m sure there are some brutes back there
Full watch !! Great video ! Beautiful footage ! Great to spend time with your father. Typical Pa. Woods with all the ferns , lol Keep up the good work 👍🏼🏕️
I would deer hunt in this area, so in the winter months. So cool to see the area in the summer and people enjoying hiking and camping there. It is huge and you need to be careful not to get turned around and lost. It goes on for miles.
I did segments of the STS last summer and the summer before with a buddy of mine. Both times, I damn near stepped on a rattler right on the trail. I also camp in that area every summer. Next time it's long pants for me though. I'm just finally recovering from two solid months of inflammation in one knee and both ankles -- tested positive for lyme disease. Those damn ticks are everywhere down there. Great video.
Amazing video! Question : that water bottle you filtered water.. is that like those army ones you basically french press the water.. are they good? How does water taste? Thanks!!
Beautiful video, very well done. Thanks for coming to PA and showing a beautiful section of the PA Wilds. I have been looking at doing this loop for awhile myself. Did you go clockwise or counter clockwise? I see you came upon a few PA rattlers, how about ticks or bugs in general was that an issue? And im curious as to what your overall impression of hiking in Pennsylvania compared to upstate New York?
Thank you very much for the kind words! We did this counter clockwise. The bushwhack was a little intense and hard to follow. Ticks were bad and the bugs were not too bad, but it was manageable! New York has many more rocks and rough terrain!
This was called the twin sisters lake loop, however part of it we cut, and did a bushwhack down a steep hillside where we encountered the first rattlesnake!
I’m sorry you think that.. However I was totally prepared. I had pants, and other layers in my pack just incase. It was 75 degrees and humid hiking. Wearing pants wouldn’t have done anything to improve conditions.

Thank you so much! There definitely were lots and lots of ferns
Very high quality video! Thank you for documenting your trip. I have been on the northern end of the STS.
Except for the music that sucks.I shut it off and didn`t leave a like.
Beautiful area, i haven't been there in years, may have to take a drive up there this spring.
definitely check it out! it is a gorgeous area, recovering from years of logging
Very enjoyable! Nice job filming/editing.
Thank you very much!

Wow that’s incredible.. I would love to get down there and do some backcountry hunting. It is so remote!!
Not sure who did your music but has a Field Tapes vibe. Very nice. Nice video as well.
Much appreciated!
Nice job. Great adventure!
Glad you enjoyed it

Now do the 75 mile quehanna wild area loop! Good vid!
Did part of that a few years back, it was absolutely incredible!
Extra nice video! ❤ Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!!
What a nice trip. I’d freak about the timber rattlers and bushwhacking. LOL.
Hahaha right!! It was scary
Beautiful country down there, I did a 50K ultramarathon race in that area last fall
Oh awesome man!! How did that go?
@@adkandbeyond It was pretty brutal !! 31 miles and 7000 ft elevation gain in 9 hrs in the rain and mud !! But had a blast !!
Charlie Beard planted the chestnut trees along the pipe lines up along montours road / good man !
Love it!
Love this!!! thanks guys!
Thank you!!
Super cool video! Such a majestic place. What caliber do you carry for bear defense?
45 ACP!
@adkandbeyond alright! 👍
Nice Film!
Thank you 😊
Best backpacking in PA for sure! It’s probably a typo, but there’s not an “n” in Hammersley. 😮
Oh my ghost I had no idea I did that!! Thank you so much for pointing that out!!
Amazing video! Question : that water bottle you filtered water.. is that like those army ones you basically french press the water.. are they good? How does water taste? Thanks!!
Thank you!! Yes it’s pretty much like that, the brand is called Grayl. It’s pretty incredible! Water tastes great!!

I love my state but man... I wish I had people to do this with..
Whats your hammock setup?
Reach out if you ever need a hiking partner!! And I just have the ENO doubleness hammock with the ultralight ENO straps
What loop, trails did you do? I'd like to check out that area.
This was called the twin sisters lake loop, however part of it we cut, and did a bushwhack down a steep hillside where we encountered the first rattlesnake!
Not lake sorry, twin sisters trail
Im guessing you guys were loaded with ticks.
No ticks at all!! We made sure to check thoroughly
Doing that kind of hiking in shorts is ridiculous. just sayin'. It's the opposite of being prepared.
