The Home Trilogy is MCU's Spider-Man's origin story. He had mentors, had family, but due to his irresponsible decisions (not hiding his identity that well, giving Beck the glasses, messing up Strange's spell and preventing him from sending the villains back), he hurt not only his friends, but also caused the death of his Aunt May.
The death of a close family member/responsibility speech is an absolute point and cannot be changed. It's a constant in most universes.
Peter learned in this trilogy how to handle his responsibilities as Spider-Man. I'm curious what the College Trilogy will be like.

Seeing Matt Murdock in the MCU just warmed my heart so much. I absolutely love Dare Devils run on Netflix, it made me so sad when it was cancelled right after season 3 released. The Netflix Verse has so much humanity to it, to be fair they have alot more time with these characters to truly develop and take their time but even the types of morals and stories they tell are done so well, so mature like the same Matt that fought Frank Castle on that roof top, and everything is helping Spiderman, I honestly felt like Tom Holland should be bowing to him but of course that's not how it works, hands down the biggest surprise, the theater lit up ! It was so great seeing him and it hasn't been so many years to the point where he looks old or whatnot, him catching the brick absolutely flawless. Season 3 of Daredevil was phenomenal it was completely amazing from start to finish, broke my heart when they cancelled all the shows (expect Iron Fist) but damn this had me smiling from cheek to cheek.

Although it also does maybe prove Tom ain't to be fu**ed with, he got hit full speed with a bullet train at 200 MPH, he stopped a ship from sinking, he has taken unholy amounts of damage and fell through entire floors.. and he absolutely destroyed Green Goblin who essentially was the same age and strength (script wise) as in the first Spider-Man film. Tom wiped the floor with him when Tobey struggled.. is that because Tom in that moment wanted him dead and that was the difference? Possibly. But in terms of feats of strength and durability, I don't think anyone can question Tom has been given those moments more than Tobey and Andrew.
Perhaps his spider that bit him was more potent than even Andrew and Tobey's. Idk.. it would be nice to get some clarification on whether he is actually stronger or if the Nanotech Suit gives him added durability and strength as well.

His defeated nature and low self-esteem felt like a reflection of his franchise ultimately failing on top of being just ripped to shreds over the years. Tom's spiderman is confused like the rest of the world because of the alien threats from outer space and the multidimensional existences. Tobey's spiderman and Tom's spider is allowed to be flawed characters. Andrew's spiderman do not show any understanding about what's right or wrong, he's spiderman and that he is spiderman and is kind of a blank page on a paper. Green Goblin dying from his own glider blade is basically what puts all the events in Spiderman 2 and 3 into motion including Harry's death so for him to have a chance to stop it, again even stopping him from being killed with the glider is like coming full circle for his character. I was touched by the treatment they gave to Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. It brought closure to how they left the character at the end of Amazing Spider-Man 2 but it also felt like it brought closure to Garfield himself, who was fired by Sony. I thought they did a really good job with him. Also, excellent acting from Garfield in the emotional moments. Also great to see Tobey Maguire again, he's still the definitive Spider-Man for me - I think he inhabited the Peter Parker role better than Holland. For me, the best moment of the film was near the beginning when we see Matt Murdock as Parker's lawyer - FINALLY, Disney is recognising the Netflix characters, and Daredevil was mindblowingly brilliant - too good for them to reboot or recast. I'm hoping this leaves the door open to the rest of the Daredevil cast returning, maybe for another series of Daredevil, as well as seeing more from Luke Cage, Iron Fist etc.
I went to see it with a friend who asked me what was going on with the back-cracking scene. My answer to her was two words "Bro moment". That's what it was. It was important to see all these characters who brought something different to the role on screen looking out for each other. Andrew Garfield absolutely stole the show. The meta commentary on how bad his movies were by himself was so great and I’m so happy tobey and him discussed how “amazing” he was. So fucking wholesome. So fucking spiderman.
Edit: I just assume willem dafoe will kill any role he has and of course he was the best, I bring up Andrew because that was the biggest surprise in a movie FULL of characters. Subtle things like throwing his arms up saying “guess I’m spiderman 3🤷‍♂️” was so perfect with his goofy ass face he made.

One thing I haven't seen anyone address, when Tobey and Andrew were telling Tom about their losses, I really felt the emotion from Andrew Garfield when he was talking about the aftermath of Gwen Stacey's death and how after awhile he was so filled with rage that he stopped pulling his punches. I would love a darker Spiderman story. I know they tried it with Spider Man 3, but I would have loved an entire Spider Man movie dedicated to it and I fee we lost out with Andrew not getting a third movie, because I feel like the emotion he would have brought to that would have been second to none.

It's a very Spider-Man thing to do, but it's also potentially very stupid lol. It's excusable for his character, but if you were to pick a side, you could argue that Doctor Strange's plan was the more sensible one... Then again, he could have probably compromised with Peter and just helped speed up the process while preventing the villains getting so out of hand... I dunno...
But yeah, I don't think they meant it didn't make sense for the character, just that it was generally a bad idea.

@@KitsyX Well it's easy to say oh well I'd side with Strange but if you were actually put in the position of whether someone lived or died it would be alot harder than you seem to think it would be. Again Peter isn't saying this on a whim, he knows he has the techonolgy to help them and prooves as such later. Whenever there's been another choice to subdue a villian peter has always taken that option and never once considered killing them. Beck's death was his own fault Peter had no intention of killing him and likely would've had him arrested like Vulture instead. And remember he's still a high school kid who's been under enormous pressure and now he's being asked to break his moral code and let people he knows can be cured die. One of the core elements to spiderman is that he screws up, but then learns from it and grows from that mistake.

The funny thing is, it fucking works in the end so I don't know what they're complaining about, yeah Aunt May died but her ideology was correct and it ended up working, but of course Alex and AJ will call anything stupid if doesn't coincide with their own morals, good thing this isn't "Angry-Joe: No Way Home."

My favourite sequence in the entire movie was when the Goblin revealed himself. He was so deranged and brutal that it almost seemed like a different movie for a bit and I loved that.
Also, the introduction of Electro is one I really liked as well. The way Peter just freezes when he sees a human shape coming from electricity was so good. It really sold the gravity of the situation.

I believe that after the Loki series happened the universes in the multiverse started to drift closer to each other. A memory wipe spell that earlier was pretty easy/safe to do became very risky.

In his defense, I think strange was kinda like “ you’ve been through enough “ and based on his conversation with Wong, he’s done this before with no problems. So it was light work until Peter kept adding on.

Exactly, maybe it narratively could have been executed just a bit better, but I think they’re a little too ruffled up about it. We understand that to Strange, this isn’t a big deal, and that he DEFINITELY wants to immediately fix the issue as soon as it arises, and we also understand Peter and May’s much more human and mortal perspective on things. I think it’s all fine.

@@adamcameron485 so because Peter kept changing the people he wanted to know it goofed the spell and puts the plot into motion. If you want to have that service as a plot cool, but it’s just bad writing. If this was a younger version of Strange and he didn’t know fully what was going on it works, but holding that Peter messed up the spell is just lazy. If you can look past the multiple amounts of plot holes and writing flaws cool, but don’t act like what’s setting the plot in motion is good writing.

@@corporatestatusbrah I don't think this is a great set up to explain why the multiverse stuff happens, but I totally disagree about strange's motivations not making sense. The dude above reiterated what the movie did. The film was very clear about why he did it. He clearly didn't realize the potential harm that could come with the spell, and it has to do with the lack of existing knowledge on the spell. The film was very clear about that. Using that spell would not need to come from strange's inexperience. Also, strange hasn't been a sorcerer very long. I don't know if you saw dr strange, but he became sorcerer supreme very quickly, lol
