I like it. My back up camera's monitor is way to big to put on my dash & I don't want to put holes in my dash. Right now I have it sitting on my center hump, velco'd to the front of the center console. I can still see it easily and it does not obstruct my view. I have been trying to figure a way that I could hang the monitor in front of my mirror. I like this system. Thanks for sharing! 😀
After some research, last year I finally got a dash camera. Then I got a separate rear view camera and monitor. Now here is what I was hoping I could have. Thanks for another good video.
Just installed this same system...looks good we'll see how it does. Ford has an "external" camera system that plugs at the trailer connector and shows up on the main screen and has a very long cable to reach the back of the RV...but $900 is a bit much!
I agree. Plus it does not allow you to see what's behind you as you drive down the road. You have to be traveling at a very slow speed, below five mile per hour, or backing up. There's a company that makes some sort of wiring harness that allows the Fords to override those dumb feature but it's like another $300 just for that. We had a 2019 F250 Super Duty and we currently have an 2020 F350 Super Duty and that's got to be one of the dumbest features for that big long cable camera
Hey I put one of these dominator systems on my camper but I ran the cord to the transponder under the camper and hooked the transponder to the LP gas cover at the hitch and it works fine and that took up the extra cable that was there in the back I ran the wire down the ladder can hardly see it anyhow it works fine.
Noticed you showed the antenna hitting the overhead and limited the up movement. I checked for a coaxial 90 and it looks like a shorter throw and would work for your situation. Just a thought, and I did enjoy your review. Thanks
Hi Great video. Have you noticed any sort of lag/delay or latency between what's being displayed and what's actually happening? Also, when you were talking about the monitor interfering with the auto bright dim truck feature, are you referring to your trucks feature to autodetect oncoming vehicles and dim your headlights automatically or are you talking about your rear view mirrors ability to auto dim if when someone is following you with their high beams on? Thanks.
For the mirror issue - I believe there are 90 degree adapters for that antennae connection. Or, why not remove the mirror bracket from the windshield and re-glue it down a little bit lower
My wife works in an auto parts store and once that mirror comes off the windshield there is very minimal success getting it back on there again and keeping it there with anything that is store bought especially if you're putting some sort of weighted contraption on there such as this mirror camera setup
You could always replace your original mirror with that mirror that's by buying the accessories to put it on the back of yours that might drop it down so it'll be okay it won't interfere with your console and it's in your ceiling
Great review...I always appreciate your videos. I always learn something new and see RV’s I wouldn’t have seen before. We don’t have as many out here in SoCal and inventory’s down bc of the virus
I think this would work well in my C Class. The mirror in there is the most useless piece of equipment, and my installed rear camera is pointing almost straight down. It is useful for checking the toad, but not much else.
Hey Mike, How about getting that SMC 90 degree and extension cable to move the antenna out of the way like I did with the Halowview rear camera antenna? I think that will work for ya.
I have a class C RV and do not have a prewire for Furrion and I did not see anything in the packaging for hard wiring the back camera for power. Do you know if there is anything in the packaging to perform this?
Just needed 12v power...in one of our previous videos, when we had our Old 92 Terry camper, I patched into the rear upper lights... So, when the lights are on, the camera is on...
@@Rvdaydream The front cap is fiberglass. A signal should have no problem getting through. What the hay, try it and see if it works. Beets drilling a new hole.
Loosen the straps and put a wedge under the bottom of the monitor it will give you the forward vision and it will position it ware the antenna will have clearance. Yes that box at the top of the windshield can be a pain.
Just fyi garmin also has wireless backup cams that works with their GPS units. I was looking into this problem for my new silverado and didn't want the extra monitor taking up space.
Yeah a few years back we ordered a bc30 for the GPS that we had however I didn't really like the quality that we were getting off of the picture so we returned
@@Rvdaydream well thank you! I was still thinking about buying one, my truck was originally a Canadian silverado, apparently they don't have the same safety standards, because the American ones come standard with the reverse cam.
That is pretty cool. Can you rotate the mirror so the antennae is on the bottom and then you could point it upward behind the mirror? That could work if the screen rotates like on your phone or tablet. HUGS~Donna
The company was manufacturing cameras without the booster and on the rare occasion with a traditional travel trailer that was in the 29 ft range, their customers would experience the occasional camera outage for just a few minutes during a trip and they were getting a lot of pushback. The customers were expecting and incredible perfect uninterrupted picture 100% of the time and they were only getting it 98% of the time. So in turn they came up with a booster and provided it with this camera going forward. So I guess, it would depend on the customer and the type of RV and the mounting location and the overall distance as to whether you would need the now included booster or not for your specific installation.
So, I am guessing that you decided not to use this one and didn't install it? I know it isn't ideal but I do appreciate the Furrion camera that I installed in mine. It was easy, the wires fit exactly and I don't have the problem of running a wire across my roof. Here's the thing, why don't the truck manufacturers just put in a receiver in THEIR infotainment systems that will get a signal from a paired camera and then you don't have to have a separate monitor? Does Ford make a back up camera that will pair with their regular back up camera? I just don't get why the auto manufacturers don't get with the RV trailer manufacturers and come up with something better? Rant over. Sorry. Great review, Pat
Were you aware that the front camera attached to the rear view mirror is adjustable up and down and side to side. That should have helped you on aligning the front view
At least it would be nice to know that a particular product is not worthy of a review. It could save us the time of returning a product that is not very good.

You can get an elbow coaxial cable adapter and remote the antenna to another location out of the way 👍

Thanks for the video. What they need to make is this display that interfaces with s backup and two side cameras and makes a single image.
So many videos in one week. AWESOME! Thank you for the review

Wolf box looks like rear view. It
does the same... and a few shims in behind your unit will give you the tilt needed for front cam.

No real latency problems at all. It is very very minor. And I was referring to the mirrors ability to dim when somebody behind you has high beams on.

You can get an antennae on a cable that may help you dodge that mirror housing.

Great video. How does the extender attach to the trailer? Can it be mounted without drilling holes in the roof?
You can run cables externally using eternabond tape to keep in place

They should make that dash cam adjustable. Great review
The extended transmitter can be run inside the rv. In your case you could run the cable inside to a cabinet over your bed.
That extended transmitter doesn't do the best inside of aluminum framed RV such as mine
@@Rvdaydream good thing they don't make trucks out aluminum 😉

I'm interested in seeing how well the rear camera performs without the booster. Is it even needed with a moderate size trailer?

Exactly !
Have a 2019 F250, was able to simply mount my trailer TPMS and Rear Furion camera on the left side of my dash, very clean. Wired to Uplifter switches.
I like this dash cam, it looks great!
I like the extender!

Yes... But it didn't adjust enough
I have been using dash cam for about 10 years I have mines hardwire.
:-)))) :-))))
Thanks David! 😁👍
