I wish i knew there weren't any water monsters. I was so afraid to go into the dark blue water fearing something might devour me. I blame subnautica for this fear.
.pro tip about the explosives ... when you put more than one together .. there is a delay time between each explosive device ... so when the first on explode it take down the other exploseves before they blow up ... so you only have damage effect for the first device only. better use it one by one . cheers
It works perfectly with multiple explosives, i was check it 100% with slowing down the speed of game by 20. When 1st charge explode, it deals DMG to block 100%, then 2nd charge do the same and so on, but if you curious and suspicious try to test it again :D
Addition to the rock Mining ability, the Drill works underwater and you can do a easier start by gather basics underwater on Omicron without attacks and heat strokes.
Great tips Spanj. Bro, at the small arms explosives part, when you didn't shoot that spawner and was just standing over it, I was pulling my hair out. lol
@@jay1185 I too was muttering "spawner... SPAWNER... SPAWNER!!!!!!!" all the way through that bit... :o)

Took me a while to notice that I dont have to run circles between my base and my ship! Just step on the floor of the base aside my ship than look at the base hit P and transfer all stuff in the boxes and constructors I want to and stuff from the base to the ship by only looking at it and hitting P again.
@@Spanj You can even do this with your Drone if you're not close enough to the ship\HV... fly the drone up to it, hit F5 and you can move stuff to your heart's content... remotely... great if it's raining outside and you don't want to get the mullet wet!! ;o)
advanced recon and retrieving your backpack are wonderful uses for the drone in early game. also, mining so you do not get stuck in a deep hole is good. looting bodies without getting off of your HV where the other raptors can get you is also handy.
I remember having to try and rotate textures in my builds and them not matching up, i spent weeks removing and rotating blocks until they lined up, then one day i found the rotation function in the multitool, it was a game changer i was getting really bored with building until i found that one...the cut and paste reduced build time from weeks to days...and even hours in some cases.
The biggest thing I wish I knew was that there are different generators for different types of vessels. Once I realized there was a CV,SV,HV, BA designation I had a big "aha!" moment.
The ability to remove/harvest stones wasn't there until very recently. Alpha 6 I think but I could be wrong. There wasn't even a "Remove Stone" function on the T2 until A5.5 I think.
Really enjoy your channel BTW. You build very cool ships. I ripped of your Pioneer design and built something similar. Bigger. I think it's the only ship I have that's not a feature-less brick. Thanks!
The thing I wish I had known before playing Empyrion - Like Space Engineers, there's no such thing as Compound Blocks. (My friend, who was playing it first, told me there was in order to get me to play it with him, knowing that I wasn't going to buy/play it if it didn't have the ability to place multiple blocks with a single block space.)
Do not know what I would like to know. The game is evolving since is an EA, so changes all the time. I also watched YT's before started playing, so already learned some stuff that way. The tutorials and such also keep getting better I suppose. One test of you own knowledge can be to play D.M. Sienna Hard (maybe change a couple of things, like spawn in HV before base, ore plenty - poor) and not allow yourself deaths. There are some building knowledge that you have to try out or learn from others. Like I recently found out how to create a very compact and cheap HV with space to use the drone from, by placing functional blocks in a certain way. The one I use now (on Sienna) is a previous version and have more limitations. One mistake I did at first, was not to check one certain block for air-tightness, it changed from 0.7.5 (true) to 0.7.6 (false) - the mobile constructor.
Ten things I wish I knew... 1. USE Personal Drone [F5] (esp. for Mining, so you don't get stuck in a hole!) 2. That tick box in map thing that puts on the Alien Zones on the map. (Zyrax HATE me) :o( 3. Everything about building. Play with build mode to understand how things work. Create stuff in there to save as Blueprints and Rez in-game to save building - AND get around my not being able to find a constructor that will create turrets (yet) by adding them in build mode as a "work-around" [yes, I am SURE they are unlocked] 4. retrieving from Fuel Tanks (to get PROMETHIUM) 5. Leaving hole in base floor to place portable constructor (safe & accessible) 6. How to fly properly Q/E & Shift 7.' V' to 3rd person view THEN Alt button to detach view altogether (great for recording videos & tutorials + inspecting stuff). 8. Watch Spanj videos. 9. Re-watch Spanj Videos again (later). 10. Wait till they finished the damned game before I got involved. (but - I'm back and enjoying it much more - largely thanks to seeing the tutorials by Spanj and the amazing builds and action he shows us.) 11. Survival Tool is NOT a multitool. :o( ... Dang! Where'd ma constructor go?!?!?!?!? Whoops!!! Ten things I still don't get... (1.) Those missions involving Zyrax, Talon and them other guys. (are we friends - or what? How do I get my money?) (2.) Signal logic (need to bone up on that so I can open all my shutter doors and set traps) (I'm wondering if I can 'catch' drones inside my base and shoot them at my leisure) (3.) need to practice symmetry, copy & select (as shown here) (4.) 7 other things I haven't realised yet. (5.) How to utilise a CV as a Base. (properly) (6.) Why you only get one steak from a Brontosaurus (7.) Where the Garden Centre is - to buy seeds (8.) Where he got that machine gun (9.) Can I dig up Honey Trees and reposition them by mining under them and building a vessel underneath?. (need to experiment with this) (10.) How to position the big 5x5 sliding doors (in opposing pairs) without having to build a flaming wall first. Thanks Spanj :o)11.
About rocks count of rerources it random but type of resources not. Rocks with white bearing give u silicon blue ones iron and red Cooper theres also rocks with other metals. If u target the rock game also show u name of bearing i right bottom corner
I missed this one when you published it... chuckle worthy, to say the least... and you're a wuss for not opening the Signal Logic can-o'-worms dude... ;o)
Is this game worth getting.Does it compare to space engineers. It looks to me more pvp oriented and I like that but I don't like waking up every morning to find out everything I have built is destroyed by some numskull that was playing while I sept. Is it a persistent world? How does that all work?
7:56 How odd. Just before I alt+tabbed out of my game I added a new structure to my world. Villa Ocaso. Then I decided to watch some clips on RUclips about the game for the very first time and saw the exact same structure I just inserted in my game in your clip. In fact, my toon is currently in the villa awaiting my return to the game. Destiny. lol
1 Thing I wish I knew before playing Empyrion: the game uses bloody spiders terrifying as hell as a basic starting mob. I'm not even arachnophobic, but the way these guys scuttle in groups still gives me major creeps and I'd prefer if we could have cute wolves or panthers or whatever instead. Plus the game is literally unplayable for any friend of mine who is actually arachnophobic.
I learned some of this by experimenting especially watching your latest alpha 8 play through and wondering, "Why does he keep hitting Custom 1 when he stops along with Thrusters???" when you would stop the Scarab (excellent starting HV, by the way!).
Aaaaaaah... JRandall's Scarab-HST - I think that was the first HV I brought into my first game... still love it, though now I use it as a benchmark to measure my own builds against... I also used a couple of JRandall's other designs until I built my own to match my game needs... eben now I still spawn his builds in creative and take them apart to see how he put them together... another Builder I do this with is XCaliber - and I also used some of his builds in game too... there are some amazing builds out there on the workshop, and I often ask myself why I bother to build my own stuff to use when there are such amazing things there already... but I guess I get a kick out of making something myself for me to use just the way I like it... :o)
bought this game a week ago and decided to go into it completely blind, only watched 1 trailer, recently designed my first base in creative, I wish I knew about the copy paste and rotate feature LOL, I spent so long trying to make different wings to my base all the same XD

Yeah Subnautica will do that to you. Never going in the sea again for sure!
My first way on Akua is always under water (Omicron too of course)
There will be water monsters in alpha 8.5 (next patch)
Been there
Mining with drone #1, So you do not get stuck in a hole. Wish I knew that when I started!

Yes! This! I don't know how long I spent trying to tunnel back up out of holes in the ground until I discovered the drone
Absolutely

I will need to double check this as i'm sure it does work with all 5 but maybe there is reduced damage or something.
It works perfectly with multiple explosives, i was check it 100% with slowing down the speed of game by 20. When 1st charge explode, it deals DMG to block 100%, then 2nd charge do the same and so on, but if you curious and suspicious try to test it again :D

omg same lol. until the core was destroyed all i could think of was respawns tearing him to shreds! 0__0 nerve racking!

i ,personally, would have put the build drone [F5] as #1
Yes, the drone is a big one. It nearly made the list but i remember not really needing it (although it would have been useful) at the beginning.
advanced recon and retrieving your backpack are wonderful uses for the drone in early game. also, mining so you do not get stuck in a deep hole is good. looting bodies without getting off of your HV where the other raptors can get you is also handy.

Empyrion is a target rich environment with a topic like this, trying to pick just 10 things was hard, but that was definitely up there.
Dated but still noob handy - me - straight to the basics. Thanks Spanj! Peace all :)
Creative tools look really cool, kinda odd that the paste and symmetry mode don't see to work together though.
Always a pleasure to view your vidz Spanj. Thanks for taking the time to share your tips. :o)

"this block represents a group of blocks" LOL
for longest time didn't know you could right click and get different blacks :P
Glad u posted this. I am new playing and could figure out how to power the ships up. Thanks a million love your vids keep up the great work

Putting more than one explosive on the block will do no additional damage at the time of build 7.6.
