In my humble opinion Chien is the finest watercolorist on the planet.
For me Chien is the most stimulating water-colourist I have ever studied. He is able to generate a plethora of aesthetic interests within his compositions which elevates his work to new evocative realms of visual pleasure. He is without doubt one of the worlds finest living painters who I absolutely love - admire and have great respect for ! If your serious about watercolour then this is the master of masters who's work you must study 🙏

Watching Chen paint and expecting to do it is like watching Tiger Wood hit a ball and expecting to do it.
45 minutes of basically useless theory. A picture says a thousand words, and a demo says a million. I hate this money culture, there's no artistic value in it anymore, art is not just what you paint, it is also the person who paints it.
