This coffee talk is going to be an interview. If you are following my RUclips channel, you might have seen the recent video when I interviewed several watercolor masters I admire. I mainly ask them about their views on personal style. Because of this rare opportunity, I thought to do a full interview with every master.
The first watercolor master in this interview is Chien Chong Wei. He needs no introduction. I started to follow him in 2013. I liked his work back at that time. Throughout the years, he has become an international master who won numerous awards and has given workshops all over the world. So it is a great honor to have a conversation with this master.
The whole interview is in Mandarin. Remember to turn on captions!
"You tend to like something that you lack." So true!
His attitude towards art contest is well balanced and mature.
Congrat Erick, excelent interviw especially because you were very wise to let Chen express his thoughts and not yours
Thank you so much Eric. This interview was of very high standard
thank you Eric... very inspiring!
Excelente entrevista! muito obrigado !
So inspirational! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Great interview thanks
Thank you! Awesome! I also think you have to have fun and like painting, but I have that when I have planned the painting really well and it came up as I wanted it. I have similar view on painting as master Chien Chong Wei I guess. So thank you very much for the interview
A very very interesting insight to a master watercolour's visioni and mind set. Thankyou both
Great interview. I am a fan of CCW and his work. This video is a true gem and packed with wealth of information. Thank you Eric, I appreciate you reaching out to these amazing artists and translate their thoughts in English for us, who do not know Mandarin. Great job ❤
As you might expect I got a lot more the second time viewing. CCW is tough. I admire that in an artist. Thank you, Eric. So much to absorb. I’ll be watching again. This video is a treasure.
¡Tremendamente inspirador! Muchas gracias por la entrevista.
Wow, definitely one of my favourite painters. Thanks for this, and especially for the CC, as it is usually absent from videos featuring him.
GRACIAS
He has done great demos on yt. Love how confident he is with his brush handling
That's real artists stuff. Reflexions on perfection and imperfections. Search for better. For higher. Search of ourself. Thank you Eric to share your journey with us all.
My number one favorite artist. Thank you for interviewing and providing subtitles. Greatly appreciated! Now we can understand why he can create masterpieces!
Amaziiiiiing interview Eric
I really enjoyed this interview with it’s wonderful insight into the mind of Master Chien! Thank you both.
Admirable Maestro Chien Chong Wei. Gracias por compartir entrevista.
Loved this interview ... lots to think about and thanks for all the work it took to get it to RUclips ...
Thanks Eric. What an amazing person and an incredibly talented artist. I’m not surprised you were drained! I was ready for a lie down afterwards. Anyway he was interesting and fun. Thanks again

Please do interview with master Z also. Very informative and useful thank.
I asked, and he is not taking interview requests. He wants to focus on painting and I respect that =)
@@Cafewatercolor okay sir thanks for reply.
His wife Jasmine is also a great artist. Are you going to interview her well? please do so
It's coming :)
Should we expect to hear a translation soon? I am an admirer of this painter and would love to hear what he has to say. I congratulate you for this interview if only I could understand.

Beautiful insights. Thank you so much!❤
nah, perfection is a waste of time, Joseph already understood that
Chien art is really good, but Zbukvic is the king
Thank you for the interview. He is a great artist, however, his passion for perfection sounds rather unhealthy. I can understand how you would feel drained.
Thank you Eric🙏🏼🤍 there was so much to learn
Merhaba . Is your Instagram account closed? I can't reach you. My brushes have arrived. I wanted to send your photo. Loves from Turkey. I hope my paintings are made with love.
