I’m late, I was so shocked 😂 I wanted to be upset, I was pleased that he showed that much confidence in himself and had a portfolio ready. Cheers to him
What a fantastic message! It's so easy to get down on yourself as an artist when you see these masters at work. So thank you for reminding us that each of us is an artist in progress. And by the way, your list is spot on. I would add Herman Pekel and Dan Marshall.
Ah ah!😄 I agree with you, Liron. I know your favourite painters, but I don't like painting urban landscapes. I love nature, country landscapes, flowers, animals. Nothing uman now. And I love stronger colour! The things that I love most in your style and in Castagnet and Zbukvic are composition and depht, strong contrasts. I try to do this with my favourite subjects.
I agree with your message. At the end of the day we should all strive to become our favorite artist. This will motivate us to continue doing what we love. I love your content because it's always fresh and informative. Keep it up. Sending love from the Philippines.
What sets you apart from others youtuber watercolorist is that you always give us motivation, inspiring encouragement, and that explanation of what learning-artists feel.. This is what we need! Thanks so much for sharing your heart
Liron, this video is won-der-ful for so many reasons!! You show and succinctly describe the eye candy of the artists’ works and then. . . you end with a message that empowers us to love and respect ourselves and our own courage to enter this difficult, challenging and beautiful arena of watercolors. I have watched many, many videos, but with yours I can count on sound information, enthusiasm, humor, honesty, all delivered with respect for your viewer. Thank you for your hard work in making these videos available to us. Okay okay, enough with the kudos, even though they are all TRUE!! Simply put, you are a talented artist and gifted teacher!! Now I gotta go paint. . . 👍🤙
I've watched about 500 hours of your videos and taken your class. I rarely comment but I suppose I will now. I think you're such a sweet guy! I love that you tell people to love their own work. Your happy personality and kindness comes out through your videos and work. I have learned so much from you but you are also really fun to watch. I'm sending you all the good artistic vibes from this architect living in Portland Oregon. You've been a pandemic vid binging life saver
I appreciate your #1 pick! You are so right about needing to like your own art😍 I am not there yet!I just wish you had shown your work- as you did the others.!!! Take care, God has blessed you with some amazing gifts!
I've probably watched hundreds of watercolor tutorials-- and I love yours because it stretches my botanical style. But your advice to be kind to myself as much as others was the best watercolor tip I ever received. I am such a perfectionist doing realistic art that I found you to loosen up. I also took up urban sketching and plein air painting with your inspiration. Thank you!
You always make me smile with your kind and wise lessons 😊 your a great teacher and you really have the gift of inspiring people! And it is trough, we aren't kind enough to ourselfs.
Your descriptions and analyses of the paintings are lessons in themselves. You opened my eyes as you described what you liked about the works. What a gift of inspiration and learning you offer with this video! Thank you, many times.
I know this couple too and follow their work the first ones! I love love how they they choose soft then focus in in certain areas, very talented artists!! I also enjoy watching Gary Tucker's journey I believe is his name. I do the same with my works I enjoy going back to a painting after my first sitting, the first view of something I feel you take in the main areas of interest but when you come back to a scene the initial wow I wanna paint this is gone and that allows you to take in other details of interest that you may not have noticed taking it all in the first time. I feel it gives me another perspective of my same subject. Alvarez's I may have spelled wrong but I enjoy the simplicity of shape and use of color and do see his influence to your work which I always enjoy. I greatly enjoyed this video my xoxo hope you are well and congrats on gallery entrance piece I saw on Instagram I think xo
Thank you for this wonderful message! I've only been watercolor painting a few years and am self-taught so your informational videos are so helpful! Also thank you for introducing me to these other incredible painters.
Artin revisits her landscape scenes the next day at the same time, ‘why don’t I try that?’ My answer, I live in the UK, two days together are ‘Never’ the same 🤔😮😂🤣🤣🤣
What an excellent list! From #5(#6?) to #1! And you're 💯 %, absolutely correct 👏👍!!! We will never be exactly like our heroes, but ,hopefully, ..... we can be the best version of ourselves !
Beautiful video! Angela Fehr always stresses this idea. She encourages her students by teaching "How to become your own favourite artist". A fantastic message. You have to learn to love your own work and express your vision, or there's not much point in continuing (I still struggle with this, by the way, but that's what we all must strive for). Thank you for the words of encouragement, Liron!
I love Angela's content, and she really nails this point! Once you learn what you enjoy, and the skills for conveying it, it's a snowball of painting, enjoying and improving! Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼
That is my saying too. I always say. It is really important to appreciate the art/work of others but you also need to appreciate your own work. I had a boss once who had another phenomenal saying, which is "always remember you are the greatest person that you know." The more I think about that the more I see the depth in that saying. I'll not tell you what I have learned because it is important for each person to individually take on what that means. Many people are our teachers, I'm sure they don't always know what they give us. Those few words for me were phenomenal and I forever learn from that. Than you for your video and reminding me of who I am.
"8:43" -- That got a big chuckle out of me! 😀 Yeah, as long as it is a healthy confidence & not arrogance, then that is a good mindset to have. If we are to get really technical, though, the #1 is definitely the Creator of the Universe! But, yes, you are right, He did say, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you." And, yes, you are right that there are people who are at times kinder to others than they are to themselves, albeit, eventually, sooner or later, animosity gets directed at the other, too. Interesting choices!
Thank you have been quietly watching for years! This vid was incredible..for the exposure to styles and posibility.....are you still in Paris? Props for your consistanty and admirable effort...💋
Thanks for the positive message. I am my harshest critic. I will try to be a bit more forgiving. I do love your choices of other artists. I love them all but I also have a love for Seago, Wesson, and Homer too. all are great and very inspiring. As are you my friend!
Hi Liron, I agree with your choice, these are also my favorites, somewhere in that list I would also mention Gary Tucker who has a similar style and sensitivity
Thanks for the pep talk, buddy. I can't quite wrap my head around all the techniques that those guys have. It's like they're playing a kind of chess where you have to figure out every move you are going to make before you move the first piece. Awesome!
That’s a great message! Everyone should absolutely be their number one fan, it’s not a selfish, pompous, or egotistical thing. It’s healthy and POSITIVE!! And thank you for reminding us of that, also thank you for introducing me to wendy. Her style and talent are phenomenal! I can’t believe she paints like that without a pencil draft!? Thanks for all of your work, YOU’RE in MY top favorites!!
Wow! I was just educating myself for art styles and techniques in the middle of my watercolor painting, and while I'm at it lots of thoughts kept running, questions like does making this really matter or what differene does it make, AND do I really know what I'm doing??? and surprisingly heard your message in the end! Just WOW! Thank you! ❤ small instaces that stirs me up to continue what I am doing ❤
I'm not even surprised at the first place spot, I mean look at this guy, he doesn't even have a symmetric face... He ought to be one hell of an artist... No doubt
Liron! Loved your list here, and your positive message. Thanks for the inspiration. That something I want to do with my channel and my art is to encourage people to see the creativity and value in themselves and in using their creative voice. I see you as a strong warrior in that effort. Keep up the great work friend!
I was hoping that you would say that! Great teaching! Love love love this! I am hard on myself but often celebrate the small successes in each painting. The proof is in the action of continuing to pick up that brush and paint!
Hi Liron, very nice video! Those artists are very popular now on social media and with their APV videos. I have been painting watercolors for quite some time and after a few years I started looking for something more than the Australian school of watercolor (Zbukvic, Castagnet, Pekel, Hyatt...) and I would like to share with you some of the masters who are currently rocking the scene but don't have such a social media exposure: Dusan Djukaric - Serbia Marc Folly - France Ping Long - China Lars Lerin - Sweden Arthur Melville - Scotland (deceased) Eugen Chisnicean - Moldova Hope I got you inspired a little bit, have a nice day!
This is a great video Liron. We share a lot in common in regards to those people who we admire as artists. And 100%, I agree with your assessment for #1! We are here to paint paintings that we can paint. Not to simply duplicate and worship the art of those people who we admire. Keep up the good work!
Many years ago I sat on a panel of Architects in Chelsea London. Each member of the panel was asked to select two architectural works for an exhibition of local architect's work. Naturally, I selected myself. I was a young graduate setting out in the world. My selections were not accepted as the rest of the selection committee thought me arrogant and egotistic. That was many years ago and the world has changed much since. Art and Architecture has become far too technical with all manner of committees and focus groups having their heads planted firmly up their arse. The joy of Art and Architecture has become lost, except for those wonderful souls who manage to break on through to the other side (Thanks Doors). Like Liron, I was not being conceited, I was just high on life and what I could do. After all, if I did not believe in my ability then I was not worthy of a commission. Thank you Liron for a wonderful video. I cannot place any of the five Artists into a listing according to ability as each one has their own vision through their eyes and composition. I love Alvaro's work for the insane use of red. How he makes his colour selection work is wonderful to behold and he does it time after time. All of the featured artists are wonderful; along with everyone who picks up a brush. Remember, as soon as one puts anything down on paper, be prepared to get critically hammered whether you are good or bad, it makes no difference.
Yeah, you are right...at the end its the same what Joesph Zbukvic said, dont copy me , create your own work, with that said: Lets go ahead ! A propos: I decided to reinstall me in Greece, after my summer in the Baltics, friend of mine invited me to live with her in Naxos....and I asked myself what trace I am following as artist: Its definetly the LIGHT, these long mystical WHITE summerninghts at the Baltic sea and these Blues, Whites and deep shadows produced by the hard greek sunlight...on marvelous architecture.... thank you again...your input is very worthful.
I have to admit, I didn't know any of those artists. I have only enjoyed those on youtube - Garry Tucker, James Gurney, Tim Wilmott, Andrew Pitt. But now you gave me new names to search. So thanks.
Haha happy I could introduce you to new artists! The ones you mentioned are spectacular 😁 I also recommend checking Misulbu (mind blowing technique!): ruclips.net/channel/UCbbwmgnpNyhpulUbqcQckgw
A very beautiful video.. I am happy that I subscribed your channel. I just love your painting and the way you explain. Tks a lot.... Waiting for more from you in future.
Hi Liron, this is a good channel - interesting point of view the yours, which teaches us to pay attention and focus on nice details - often overlooked details - this kind of vids takes us to sharpen our observation skills... sth so important in art. Thanks from Uruguay.
A great video, mindblowing artistic expressions to inspire any artist or hobbyist. Your surprise no. 1 is such a beautiful message, thank you and subscribed ❤
🖒Thanks, Liron. Great choices. Who knows why we connect with another artist? But it's a joyful experience when it happens. As always, informative and enjoyable.
Michael D. Pittman A southern plein aire colorist . Absolutely astonishing and he's just an aspire. Quite the rogue drifter or , " tripping over 3 cousins expressionism" to time travel through mdp's Escapism and thousands of Works affectionately stacked on the floor is era changing!!¡
You should have shown some of the work by your favorite artist - your own work. Really enjoyed this presentation with your reasons for liking certain artists. Thank you for your great tutorials.
You were talking about the opening artists, how one has more detail and sharpness and the others flowed more? In Chinese landscape painting they speak of ‘having brush’ or ‘having ink.’ Having brush is painting the details and whatnot. Having ink is having skill in the washes, etc.
I agree with your feelings about Joseph Zbukvic!
Liron, you are now my #2 favorite watercolor artist ;D Thank you for sharing your positivity and creative spirit with us all!
❤
I almost snorted tea out my nose! I am pleased that you made #1 on this very list! Congrats!
😂😂 Thank you! Was a tough competition but I somehow made it 😛
Great message for all of us even those like me who paint only as a hobby.
Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼
Very happy it connected with you!
This “message” is like a piece of art itself! It gives such great perspective. Thank you!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for sharing your favorite artists with us and for the reminder to be kind to ourselves. You're a ray of sunshine!
i was waiting for #1 and then when you said "me', i nearly fell off the chair.
billy gates Me too! That was funny but indeed, true.
Hahaha....made my fucking day
I’m late, I was so shocked 😂 I wanted to be upset, I was pleased that he showed that much confidence in himself and had a portfolio ready. Cheers to him

Super message to hear! Thanks! I am one of those souls who never feel my work is ‘good’ enough and I needed to hear this today...
Ah ah!😄 I agree with you, Liron. I know your favourite painters, but I don't like painting urban landscapes. I love nature, country landscapes, flowers, animals. Nothing uman now. Liron, yes this is so true, you must LOVE yourself first, before anything. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful video.
What an unexpected and wonderful ending!!!!

Your list was wonderful but intimidating. Thank you for your message at the end! 😁
Liron, you always make everything interesting and "happy". Thank you for the masters' overviews. I really enjoy them. Thank you!

Hey Liron, already you are like a myth about watercolor in the net. For me, kukbick and Castagnet. Liron come on to paint to Buenos Aires Argentina
Haha thank you my friend 😁 Visited Buenoa Aires and other places in Argentina back in 2013-2014, had an AMAZING time. Hope to be back in the future (:
Liron, you are positively delightful!
Thank you liron , it was the best messages that i recieved today , I love your teaching 🙏💙

What a great video, Liron! Thank you for reminding me that I am a great artist!
"8:43" -- That got a big chuckle out of me! 😀 Yeah, as long as it is a healthy confidence & not arrogance, then that is a good mindset to have.

Interesting choices!
You have insightful interpretations of other artists interpretations! Really enjoyed the vid
Superb choices! Thank you, Liron
Haha thank you 😊🙏🏼
Thank you have been quietly watching for years! This vid was incredible..for the exposure to styles and posibility.....are you still in Paris? Props for your consistanty and admirable effort...💋
Thank you so much for watching for so long! 😊🙏🏼
I'm in Tel Aviv! Paris was a (long) vacation (:

He does great videos huh :)
Great video. I agree with you on the artists and styles. Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you my friend 😁🙏🏼
Thanks for the pep talk, buddy. I can't quite wrap my head around all the techniques that those guys have. It's like they're playing a kind of chess where you have to figure out every move you are going to make before you move the first piece. Awesome!
Haha indeed, but it gets much easier with time. You learn the steps and also how to “play around” with them in between 😉
What a wonderful video! Thank you for your great presentation of those
Artists!!!!!!
Thank you, Liron!!
Another video that makes you so unique and beautiful. Thanks Liron
Awesome message Liron! Its why I love your videos so much.

I'm not even surprised at the first place spot, I mean look at this guy, he doesn't even have a symmetric face... He ought to be one hell of an artist... No doubt
😂😂
Yes be your favorite artist!! Nice Liron.🤗
I loved the last couple of minutes in this video....👍
You are so right about #1
That’s great! I agree we need to love our own art!

Such a surprising ending and such an important point ❤️
Thanxxx for this vid!! Love the painters you mentioned AND love the great advise at the end. Hallelujaaaaah!!!👏🏼👏🏼
Hi Liron, very nice video! Those artists are very popular now on social media and with their APV videos. I have been painting watercolors for quite some time and after a few years I started looking for something more than the Australian school of watercolor (Zbukvic, Castagnet, Pekel, Hyatt...) and I would like to share with you some of the masters who are currently rocking the scene but don't have such a social media exposure:
Dusan Djukaric - Serbia
Marc Folly - France
Ping Long - China
Lars Lerin - Sweden
Arthur Melville - Scotland (deceased)
Eugen Chisnicean - Moldova
Hope I got you inspired a little bit, have a nice day!
That’s amazing 😊🙏🏼 Thank you for sharing - will definitely add to my list!
Djukaric is 80% Zbukvic and 20% Castagnet mix! Good list!
Thanks Liron, I like your videos!
A thumbs up for you! Thank you! You inspire this beginner so much.
What a great surprise ending!! Thanks, L.
Haha 😁😂 Happy you enjoyed!

Great video Liron!! Very important message. Love this. And you.
Thank you so much 😊
Great video, it's soo true we have to love our own work!! Do love your selection of artists too! I especially like Joseph's work, he's a true master

Great Video! Loved the artists you picked! I am just learning and had no idea watercolor could be so vibrant! Thank you!
Yeah watercolour can be very vibrant indeed, its a wonderful medium

You were talking about the opening artists, how one has more detail and sharpness and the others flowed more? In Chinese landscape painting they speak of ‘having brush’ or ‘having ink.’ Having brush is painting the details and whatnot. Having ink is having skill in the washes, etc.
Interesting! That's their terminology?
