      It's been really difficult to fit filming videos in to the schedule lately. In order to keep up with the day to day shop work I've got to have the videos line up with something i can film in the evenings or weekends (and also have the free time).

    • @NigelNaughton
      @NigelNaughton 4 месяца назад +1

      @@OTRAMM I think the majority of people don't understand just how difficult filming is and how time consuming it is. It's almost like you have to have someone dedicated just for filming and the rest of the people taken care of the business side of things.

      @@NigelNaughton yep, back when we were less busy I could just film during the day. We've gotten quite busy and I'm currently the only tech in the shop. Makes it hard to keep up.

    You've enabled me to do so much to my 80 series that even other people recognize.
    Yeah I'm cheap.
    But YOU my friend are magic.
    HIGHLY recommend OTRAMM to ANYONE needing Toyota 80/100/200 series work.

    Great video. How did you extract the broken valve cover bolt? It didn't seem to slow you down at all. Did you use heat and or stud remover?

    • @OTRAMM
      @OTRAMM  2 месяца назад

      I welded a nut to the broken off bolt and pulled it that way. There was a couple of hours wasted removing the broken ones

    • @eliesh11
      @eliesh11 2 месяца назад

      @OTRAMM thanks. I'm doing mine now. Back passenger side, lower back corner by firewall. I have about a cm of stud that I can grip and I estimate only 5 or 6 threads are in the block. Pb blaster, atf+acetone, mini butane torch and I can't get the stud to budge, in either direction. .. I have kroil on order and I'm contemplating an induction bolt buster. What am I missing try to work a handful of threads?

    • @OTRAMM
      @OTRAMM  2 месяца назад

      @@eliesh11 it's just a really crappy design. The bolts go past the head on the bottom. The bolt stickout rusts and then is too big to come out. It just takes a lot of patience to work them free. Occasionally I have to drill and retap the holes

    • @eliesh11
      @eliesh11 2 месяца назад

      @OTRAMM yeah. makes me reluctant to do the driver side. The sparkplug gaskets have also been brutal to remove. I bought your gasket removal tool, but it has not helped. They are the original factory gaskets but it's like they are now melded into the aluminum valve cover...

    Out of curiosity, why label the coils? I've been under the impression that it doesn't matter which coil goes where.
    Great video and information!

    • @OTRAMM
      @OTRAMM  2 месяца назад

      So if an issue should arise I can know it wasn't from swapping coils around. It's redundant, but it helps in diagnosing later on if needed.
