This is a fun dollhouse and although the wood is not that great, it's thinner and it makes it much easier to modify if you want. I've built this house 4 times now, so if you decide to go for it, and you have questions, feel free to reach out. :)

I love so many different looks and styles that I just decided to make this dollhouse a little bit of many things I love..so every room has a different vibe as you can tell....but OMG..that office is hands down one of my favorite all time rooms...It's rare that you can look at a room and know exactly what it smells like! lol...it reminds me so much of my grandma and grandpas house.

This is AMAZING! I am so impressed. is it easy for you to make decisions regarding design and finishing a space? I sold an unfinished dollhouse for $25 because I just couldn't decide what to do with it once I was done building, shingling and adding the floors. You're like an interior designer for dollhouses 😆 I love how full it is and how you added some finishing touches. Also love the mugs! Very funny 👏
I worked as a "designer" in the furniture industry for many years. I put designer in quotes because I am not degreed in it, I was only certified. A part of my job was also to design the floor vignettes for privately owned furniture stores. Then I had a very cool opportunity to be in a position to train real designers in furniture ordering, fabrics etc...but I actually learned a ton from them. That knowledge certainly transfers to this craft. The mugs! lol they make me laugh too!

I'm thrilled you love the house and its so wonderful to hear that you are giving new life to old dollhouses! I know what you mean about being at a certain level, there are miniaturist out there that create such realistic miniatures they make meI want to throw out my stuff cause it feels like garbage! But I realize that some of those things require a patience I will never have and so I've decided I'm just going to do my best and have a blast while doing it!

I do walk by it a lot and I'm always drawn to it, looking in the windows, taking it in at different view points. It's been a great time! I'm so happy you love your mug, I was worried about shipping it. But I worry about everything I ship!
I just recently purchased a finished Garfield at an Antique store. It looks like it was built by two people. The base and bottom two floors are beautifully and solidly built, but the attic and roof were hot-glued in place and were all coming loose. Also the porch was off in pieces. I got a box of misc. bits off the house as well. I have been looking at You Tube videos of folks who have made this dollhouse and yours id wonderful. I will be looking at all your offerings.

That made me laugh when I realized that I had no English food in my English Pub and everything I had was Mexican food..oh and the Arbys! But you know..it made sense! lol
Breathtaking! One thing that intrigues me about the Garfield is the room on the second floor that’s not visible from the open back, the one that’s behind your office and next to your bathroom. How did you use this space? Heck, how did you even DO this space, lol
that is the hallway, I did have to preplan the room quite a bit and add wall paper etc before putting the walls up because it is quite a tight squeeze in that space.
In the 70s everyhouse had a pencil sharpener like that mounted on a wall somewhere. Ours was in out garage for some reason. What do you use to hang your artwork. Im so indecisive that i need something temporary but strong.
There's a sticky wax that most people use. I don't have my package in front of me to give you an exact name (and it depends on what part of the world you're in), but it's something like 'Artists' or 'Tacky' wax.
You are so right! My grandpa had one in the garage too and I believe my parents had one on their wall in the office when I was a kid. I tend to use museum wax. I like it because it's clear and then when I remove the item I can just easily slide a razor blade over the wall and remove any left on the wall very easily with no damage to the paper.

Yes finding houses this size to restore is challenging for sure! I bought the washer and dryer many years ago. All the extras that I have are part of my collection that I have been adding to for many years. I have purchased them for all over place. It's an addiction for sure! Thank you! She is a sweet little doll! She is not posable, I found her at an estate sale several years ago. There was a time when I never bought dolls cause I felt they often made the room look unrealistic, but I have slowly pulled back from that as I have found some cool dolls. :)

My standards are high and unless they are very detailed and of true scale ( I've not found as of yet) then, I won't use them. I'm actually considering a felted mouse family living in my house. Some of the mice from ETSY are adorable.

In fact, I'm doing a mini painting for the house and I used a picture of a felted mouse from Etsy as my inspiration! They are really cute and perfect scales for the dollhouse! I see you sell dollhouse furniture but do you sell dollhouses with the furniture already inside? If you do, where to buy? Also, what is the tower room? I've never heard of that before. There's two? One in the raggedy Ann room and then another one that's for painting???
I have an eBay store where I sell furniture and sometimes small dollhouses. People do hire me to build dollhouses for them also, Im finishing one now actually. Super fun. This dollhouse has a tower on one side of the house and so all three floors have a little tower area, but the raggedy Ann room is the only roominthe house where the tower has an actual door to the room.
Hey, Whitney! Me again! Can't remember if I commented on this post or not! We have so much the same taste! I almost fell out when I saw the grandfather clock! Nice but I thought it was like the 1 I just got in a lot sale off Marketplace but not quite! I believe it is a Fantastic Merchandise clock and I can't find 1 anywhere like it! It does say "Fantastic" on the face and recently I was told that Bespaq kinda took over FM? Is that correct or do you know? She said FM was the early Bespaq, not sure exactly how she explained it but they do look very much alike as far as coloring, detail, quality, etc... If I send you some pics would you mind giving me your input? I tend to buy these things that I can never find after searching high and low, site after site! Used to Worthpoint usually had most items but lately they don't even show up as having a sold price or anything like that! Actually I'm gonna send another pic of these Bespaq corner units I got. Bid on them and shockingly later found out I won them! Nice!! Anyway, you know once I start rambling it's just on!! I'll stop and get the pics sent! I ask you because you're the only one who seems to know anything! Even the lady who bought out all Bespaq's inventory only had to say "they discontinued them or they're no longer available" something like that! No info! From early 90's is all I've obtained! I know you've seen them! I have but can't remember where! Oh, it was the ladies mother I was buying some stuff from and we got into conversation and she asked her daughter (Bespaq inventory lady) about them. I'm confusing myself so I'm stopping now!! sorry for the late reply, I was at the airport for much of the day yesterday trying to fly from Texas back home to California, and it was crazy at the airport. I will look at the pictures and see what I can figure out. I also have a friend who has owned a dollhouse shop for about 50 years. Yes so what happened was this...I have built this house about 4 times, each time making it all Victorian and staying true to the house itself..but this last time I just chose to think of the house as several room boxes put together and made each one a different style and in most cases from different periods. This was mainly because I just love so many different looks and had so many different collections of furniture and accessories that it felt great putting it all in one place. I don't know if you subscribe but I'm currently working on a huge 15 room dollhouse and each room is a different movie or tv theme! hope you enjoy!

HI Julie, great question. Each room in this particular house is designed from different eras and styles. It is the 4th time I have built this house and I just wanted to create in as though it were several room boxes put together. So the dining room is a different era than the 70's office! Great observation :) I'm also currently working on a 15 room dollhouse and each room is designed based on a movie or television show.
@@WhitneyLaBrie I would have never thought to mix things up like that, it's kind of like snapshots of the same house over the decades.....very interesting concept. And I like the idea of doing another one with different movies and shows. I'm just wondering how the architecture of the house itself will lend itself to that. Shows and movies are from such varied and wildly different eras and styles, making them fit together and still be recognisable as the original sounds like quite a challenge.

IT is fascinating how the same kit can have a totally different feel. Mine is The night before Christmas theme. Victorian house with modern family living in it.

I do walk by it a lot and I'm always drawn to it, looking in the windows, taking it in at different view points. It's been a great time! I'm so happy you love your mug, I was worried about shipping it. But I worry about everything I ship!
I just recently purchased a finished Garfield at an Antique store. It looks like it was built by two people. The base and bottom two floors are beautifully and solidly built, but the attic and roof were hot-glued in place and were all coming loose. Also the porch was off in pieces. I got a box of misc. bits off the house as well. I have been looking at You Tube videos of folks who have made this dollhouse and yours id wonderful. I will be looking at all your offerings.

When can I move in?! Such a beautiful dollhouse. Every room, the details, the accessories are all amazing. I really enjoy watching you put everything together. The pub table and stools are great! I'll order a beer to go with the chips and salsa.
That made me laugh when I realized that I had no English food in my English Pub and everything I had was Mexican food..oh and the Arbys! But you know..it made sense! lol
Breathtaking! One thing that intrigues me about the Garfield is the room on the second floor that’s not visible from the open back, the one that’s behind your office and next to your bathroom. How did you use this space? Heck, how did you even DO this space, lol
that is the hallway, I did have to preplan the room quite a bit and add wall paper etc before putting the walls up because it is quite a tight squeeze in that space.

In the 70s everyhouse had a pencil sharpener like that mounted on a wall somewhere. Ours was in out garage for some reason. What do you use to hang your artwork. Im so indecisive that i need something temporary but strong.
There's a sticky wax that most people use. I don't have my package in front of me to give you an exact name (and it depends on what part of the world you're in), but it's something like 'Artists' or 'Tacky' wax.
Our pencil sharpener was in the basement next to the enormous furnace.
You are so right! My grandpa had one in the garage too and I believe my parents had one on their wall in the office when I was a kid. I tend to use museum wax. I like it because it's clear and then when I remove the item I can just easily slide a razor blade over the wall and remove any left on the wall very easily with no damage to the paper.

I'm sorry Its taken so long for me to reply to you, for some reason your comment was put in a held for review section which I don't look at very often! Im so happy you liked the sunroom, it added so much to the overall look of the house and of course more light. The kitchen dimensions are roughly 14 deep, 6 wide and 9 inches tall.

Yes finding houses this size to restore is challenging for sure! I bought the washer and dryer many years ago. All the extras that I have are part of my collection that I have been adding to for many years. I have purchased them for all over place. It's an addiction for sure! Thank you! She is a sweet little doll! She is not posable, I found her at an estate sale several years ago. There was a time when I never bought dolls cause I felt they often made the room look unrealistic, but I have slowly pulled back from that as I have found some cool dolls. :)

My standards are high and unless they are very detailed and of true scale ( I've not found as of yet) then, I won't use them. I'm actually considering a felted mouse family living in my house. Some of the mice from ETSY are adorable.

In fact, I'm doing a mini painting for the house and I used a picture of a felted mouse from Etsy as my inspiration! They are really cute and perfect scales for the dollhouse! I have an eBay store where I sell furniture and sometimes small dollhouses. People do hire me to build dollhouses for them also, Im finishing one now actually. Super fun. This dollhouse has a tower on one side of the house and so all three floors have a little tower area, but the raggedy Ann room is the only roominthe house where the tower has an actual door to the room.

Hey, Whitney! Me again! Can't remember if I commented on this post or not! We have so much the same taste! I almost fell out when I saw the grandfather clock! Nice but I thought it was like the 1 I just got in a lot sale off Marketplace but not quite! I believe it is a Fantastic Merchandise clock and I can't find 1 anywhere like it! It does say "Fantastic" on the face and recently I was told that Bespaq kinda took over FM? Is that correct or do you know? She said FM was the early Bespaq, not sure exactly how she explained it but they do look very much alike as far as coloring, detail, quality, etc... If I send you some pics would you mind giving me your input? I tend to buy these things that I can never find after searching high and low, site after site! Used to Worthpoint usually had most items but lately they don't even show up as having a sold price or anything like that! Actually I'm gonna send another pic of these Bespaq corner units I got. Bid on them and shockingly later found out I won them! Nice!! Anyway, you know once I start rambling it's just on!! I'll stop and get the pics sent! I ask you because you're the only one who seems to know anything! Even the lady who bought out all Bespaq's inventory only had to say "they discontinued them or they're no longer available" something like that! No info! From early 90's is all I've obtained! I know you've seen them! I have but can't remember where! Oh, it was the ladies mother I was buying some stuff from and we got into conversation and she asked her daughter (Bespaq inventory lady) about them. I'm confusing myself so I'm stopping now!! sorry for the late reply, I was at the airport for much of the day yesterday trying to fly from Texas back home to California, and it was crazy at the airport. I will look at the pictures and see what I can figure out. I also have a friend who has owned a dollhouse shop for about 50 years. Yes so what happened was this...I have built this house about 4 times, each time making it all Victorian and staying true to the house itself..but this last time I just chose to think of the house as several room boxes put together and made each one a different style and in most cases from different periods. This was mainly because I just love so many different looks and had so many different collections of furniture and accessories that it felt great putting it all in one place. I don't know if you subscribe but I'm currently working on a huge 15 room dollhouse and each room is a different movie or tv theme! hope you enjoy!

HI Julie, great question. Each room in this particular house is designed from different eras and styles. It is the 4th time I have built this house and I just wanted to create in as though it were several room boxes put together. So the dining room is a different era than the 70's office! Great observation :) I'm also currently working on a 15 room dollhouse and each room is designed based on a movie or television show.
@@WhitneyLaBrie I would have never thought to mix things up like that, it's kind of like snapshots of the same house over the decades.....very interesting concept.
And I like the idea of doing another one with different movies and shows. I'm just wondering how the architecture of the house itself will lend itself to that. Shows and movies are from such varied and wildly different eras and styles, making them fit together and still be recognisable as the original sounds like quite a challenge.
