I LOVE your Daddy’s reaction. When he’s tickled, his whole face lights up with pleasure. He thinks you are amazing! You are, of course, but you are also a blessed woman to have these guys as parents.
"I think you have a whole new career ahead of you, kiddo!" 😭💕 Your parents are the sweetest. They seemed so tickled by this. And your design was STUNNING. I could've easily watched 10 more minutes of you making the christmas decorations and everything else.
As a miniature maker who does this for a living, I was so happy to see this! It also shows just how much work goes into making minis. And…WHY minis are so expensive. 😂
Love this! I have to say that as a 60ish person I sometimes don’t totally understand what you are doing some of the time but this I can totally get into. Our kitchen is under going a renovation and I’m seriously thinking of leaving a mouse house hole in one wall now! My grandson would adore it and I may be ready to embrace my inner eccentric old lady now!
Making miniatures is pretty traditional in some cultures! Based on the book “the borrowers” and various mythologies, it’s often believed that little people live in the walls and take what they think is not needed! Hence why things go missing a lot, because little people have been taking them to make furniture and such 😊
Yhea I might be tempted to go for that look and feel using normal household items to create the scene rather than the obviously specially created furniture and stuff but I guess that personal choice and what story you want to tell with the creation.
OK honestly, I have to comment for the algorithm. This is so NOT typical Sorry Girls content, but I LOVE IT. I think it's so great when you guys go out of the typical formula and try something new! We love your regular videos too obvi, but fun little videos like this are such a surprising and refreshing treat! Thank you Kelsey for showing your 'weird' and allowing us to explore this neat little world with you. ❤🙌
Kelsey, you have outdone yourself!! This is SO amazing, you did such a fantastic job! The little fireplace, the mezzanine, the little faux fur rug, the art you framed and printed off, omg, this is sooo sweet! I would NEVER have the patience to do something like this, I would end up poking my eyes out with the scalpel. I agree with the others, I'd love to see an episode where you switch out the decor for spring, etc. Wow... and yes.. your Dad's reaction was the icing on the cake!!!
I love miniatures because they're so warm and inviting, and there's always some sort of little story that makes you wonder about the little person who lives there. I try to bring this feeling of warmth and magic into my own interior decor, in a world that's so minimalist and cold
I love this idea. If you ever sell your home, you could count it as an extra room. 🤣😂🤣😂 Your parents are so sweet. I love how Mom is on the floor looking in.
As I sit on my bed assembling my miniature dollhouse while watching this video, my heart sank @6:36-6:52 when you started ripping apart the dollhouse. 😯 😂
Lol. Same. I personalize the colors of my DIY dollhouse kits, which takes longer than actually building them and can be expensive because I have to print out the posters for the floor/walls, and buy new fabrics. Just the thought of ripping one kit apart is sad to me, plus the kits are just too cute. I would've just bought a new DIY dollhouse kit for the parts and worked from there putting the pieces to the hole, but that's just me. 😁
Same. I was into the creation of this until she mangles a beautiful miniature only to just ‘use parts’ that are literally part of the process of the build. Basically just destroyed something beautiful to relocate it. --also led lights aren’t that expensive. To be so overwhelmed that you’ve got LED lights as you rip apart someone else’s creation-go to the dollar store
Me too. She could have bought a kit at hobby lobby or some other craft store and used those parts. It would have cost her the same. And she wouldn't have destroyed somebody else's work. I don't know why RUclips recommended this video to me. But it does not recommend her channel
Same! That part was very painful to watch for me.... Why buy that beautiful house only to destroy it? It doesn't make any sense. It just means that she has no respect for the og creator's work.
My granddaughter and I just watched your video…now I have to watch her so she doesn’t put a hole in the wall 🤷🏼♀️. I’ve convinced her that we’ll work on a dollhouse!!! Thank you ☺️. Love your Mom and Dad’s reactions 🥰🥰🥰
I was so delighted when you said your dad was going to come react, I was just thinking how hilariously proud of you he’d be, and indeed he rightly was! So stinkin’ cute, maybe I’ll finally get around to making a book book before I’m tempted to punch holes in my walls 😂
What fun! I love miniatures and you did a great job. This makes me think of "The Borrowers" a book written in 1952 by Mary Norton. The borrowers are a family of tiny people that live in English houses and they borrow things from the big people to survive. I can just imagine they would love your room, having things that actually fit them.
That book is great! Kelsey you out did yourself! You put so much thought into this project as you do with regular projects. That’s understanding coming from an overthinker like myself ☺️
Absolutely I thought about the borrowers as well !! Studio Ghibli made an animated movie based on the novel, you might enjoy the watch if you haven't already !
Oh wow, that's so wholesome!😍 In Spain, instead of the Tooth Fairy we have the Ratoncito Pérez ( Perez Mouse) and I think this little house will be definitely worthy of him.
I love the different flooring elevation, it's like a conversation pit with a loft.... it's soooo cute and adorable and awesome! I also love the details you've put into it!
Your dad's reaction was priceless! 😂 He is so much fun. The little house is so beautiful and the Christmas decorations are cherry on the cake 😍 your videos brighten my day.
As a miniature maker and lifelong miniature lover, I thoroughly enjoyed this project. I especially loved that your parents got down on the floor to have a good look! Awesome! ❤ Shirley
The fact that you got your mom and dad crawling down on the floor like that is amazing an awesome in and of itself. You did a fantastically awesome job on this. And I’m about to kick a hole somewhere in the bottom of my sheet rock so I can make my own mouse house.
I love this so much! I found out about these tiny DIY houses a few weeks ago and was obsessed immediately! Here in Atlanta, GA, TinyDoorsATL makes these miniature doors all throughout the city and it's such a fun scavenger hunt to find them all
that's something i never knew i could do and i now wanna grind a hole into my wall just to do that😔 kelsey, you did an amazing job and i would love to see more of these miniature contents in the future!
That is so cute! Your dad's reaction was priceless! "Now I know why you bought this house." Too bad you didn't think of this sooner you could of done the wall full of tiny mouse rooms instead of fixing the wall. Lol Now instead of using your "mood" boards you can build actual mini rooms to show of your designs. 🤣
IT IS PERFECT Mole house from the wonderful book "The Wind in the Willows"! Now you need to get Mole and Ratty and put them it in the house with two cups of English tea :)
I just loved the little house, I'm about to make a hole in my own wall!!!! HAHA, but what I loved the most, is thinking about everyone who will arrive and need to bend down to see the house, it's going to be amazing, HAHAHA I loved it!!
This is absolutely amazing! Kind of makes me wish I had a hole in the wall of my house, lol. Also, can we just recognize what a typical Dad Response we just witnessed. "It was worth you buying this house."
I've been into miniatures for years and love watching videos of others work for inspiration. I watched this, and called my friend who has done all of my home repair/renovation projects for me, and I told him: "I want to knock a hole in one of my walls" and explained why. He told me I need to stop watching RUclips videos and getting these crazy ideas. He didn't come right out and say it, but I think it's a "no" to knocking a hole in my wall. Darn.
The most pivotal Making Home episode to date! I love this as I love crafts and it felt super fun to see how you tied together all these elements ot make a beautiful little mouse house. And the Christmas decor?! it was perfect!
I literally had the biggest smile on my face watching this entire video and I gasped when you turned on the light in the fireplace 😲 this video made my day!! Hope to see more miniature makeovers
I wish my grandmother was alive so I could show her this. She hand built me a dollhouse when I was little and I think she would enjoy this!! What a cool idea!
Supportive and encouraging parents are the greatest gift any creator could hope for. You are truly blessed! Great project too, I’m fascinated by all things miniature and have been for too many years to count. You’ve really done a great job here!
That kit you showed first is the same one I made when I started my dolls house making about 4 years ago. I really enjoyed making it and gave it to a child I know when it was finished. I then went on to make my own houses from scratch and even made a model of my own house. It’s a fun hobby indeed. Amazon was really handy for art bits and pieces like fabric etc.
When your Dad says "this was worth buying this house"....so funny! Your parents are so cute, cherish them. Made me really miss my Dad, he was always proud of my creations just like your father.
Kelsey, I love what you've done with the tiny space, I think it's amazing! However, you should know it was your dad's reaction that gave me the goosebumps! I loved watching this video and I hope to see you redecorating it more often 🤗
Kelsey! I've been catching up on ALL your content over the last year and THIS time I just had to comment! You did SUCH a great job. I know producing this mouse-house from a technical aspect was out of your comfort zone but I LOVED it!!! I actually cried during the reveal with your sweet dad and mom. Thank you for doing this! You inspired me to make a mini house this winter (my mom will be SO pleased that I'm finally making use of the dollhouse furniture she's been storing for me since my childhood haha!)
You have a wonderful father and not just a father a dad; so supportive. You have very good hearted folks. Very loving and supportive. You are very much like your dad. I see both of them in you. I always wanted a doll house. This is incredibly cute.
that was really smart to look for preassembled mini houses to repurpose. I think $40 is a great deal for everything included. this is inspiring me to make a gnome nook in a missing brick in my backyard garden wall
The best of this video are the parents going to floor level, full of childish awe, marveling thought this tiny house. Everybody should feel this sense of genuine wonder once in a while.
This is remind me one of Studio Ghibli's movie: The Secret World of Arriety 💕 if i have this miniature house near me, i would always checking it if there were any mini family reside inside ^^ love this video sm
I absolutely love this video!!! I put a tiny door, steps and window at the base of my tree and my little nieces think fairies live there. 🧚♂️🧚♀️🧚 Magical! 💙
I love this. My neighbours threw out A vintage dollhouse about 2 months before the lockdown so naturally I took it and hoarded it in my craft room. And spent all of both lockdowns working on it and now I’m obsessed I have 3 dollhouses and I sell fairy houses on Etsy. And I am in a constant state of squee
I love your mouse house ! I love miniatures- I have several old newspaper print boxes with miniatures in them hanging on my walls. Some of the mini’s are antiques , some not. I treasure them!
Screamed out loud when I saw the title of this video! DIY-ing miniatures is my favourite hobby besides home decor and I love how this incorporates both
17:17 Pure comedy gold 😂😂 The miniature house was what finally convinced your dad that you did the right thing by signing the papers to the house 😂 I love it!
This came up on suggestions, probably from my interest in dioramas. Normally it's for tips and tricks when experimenting with new tools or materials. The concept and work is just brilliant.
My granddaughter and I watch this together and we have decided to build us a little house for her she is two and she watched the whole show thank you very much love you gals
Would be cool if you also made a little mouse to live in the house. Maybe he/she/+ could sit in one of the chairs reading a book or newspaper or something x) Would be so cute!
Oh my god. I died and went to squee heaven. Look at that!! I grew up loving the book, the Borrower's, and a few other stories about tiny people, and something about the tiny little books made into houses is so comforting and warm to me. I now need a little home nook. 😅🤷🏼♀️
Funny, I was just thinking about the Borrowers when I read your comment. Also, I used to read a children's book about all the critters going to bed, and a mouse slept in a small matchbox.
I really hope we can expect to see this redecorated as many times as your (and Becky’s) real houses 🤣 this content is too cute!!!

That pride in dads voice is what makes it for me ❤ reminds me of my dad!
Delightful! And I love that your parents were there to share.
Oh my god. I died and went to squee heaven. Look at that!! I grew up loving the book, the Borrower's, and a few other stories about tiny people, and something about the tiny little books made into houses is so comforting and warm to me. I now need a little home nook. 😅🤷🏼♀️
I forgot about the Borrowers! Now I wanna watch the movie again
Yes The Borrowers!!
@@JessRodriguez1111 read the books - they’re the best!
Funny, I was just thinking about the Borrowers when I read your comment. Also, I used to read a children's book about all the critters going to bed, and a mouse slept in a small matchbox.
