What is your impression of Libya? Would you visit? Also feel free to follow me on instagram.com/gotravelyourway for daily updates :)
I'm not surprised at the state of Libya or any other similar country. Look at what's happening to the West when we import them here. Just terrible. Keep these stone age thugs out
I surely would..
My impression of Libya: Failed state that's ripe for takeover by ISIS or another radical Islamic group and well on its way to being the next Yemen.
Would I visit: FUCK NO. My principles AND MY SAFETY are too important to me.

felt like a stone stuck in my throat watching this episode... im not Libyan but i was born in Tripoli, Libya... i only lived there for 5 years but my memory of Tripoli is still good. Imho it was a great country when I left and im sad seeing how terrible looking it is ... im seriously teary eyed writing this. Thanks to Drew Binsky and You, Josh Cahill for showing me the current state of my beloved Libya
The West destroyed that beautiful country
It’s interesting tho from all the conversations I had with locals that they are extremely grateful to the west and NATO especially for helping them get rid of Gaddafi.
Nato made the country like hell
@@JoshCahillBrainwashed locals or paid libtards. Gaddafi was great. Look at the country now. It's a total mess.
Libya was a thiriving country with free healthcare, education and other benefita. Thanks to USA and NATO it became most dangerous places.
I visited the cities of eastern Libya, which are called Cyrenaica. It was amazing and beautiful. It has a stunning nature and the people are very kind. It is somewhat oppressed in terms of tourism and media. I saw the shrine of Omar Al-Mukhtar and the beauty of the cities there.
❤❤
Actually. Cyrenaica is more beautiful than Tripoli, especially the mountain and the green, specifically the ancient city of Cyrene and the rural city of Marj. Fezzan is also wonderful, especially the volcanic mountain, Waw al-Namous. There you feel that you are not on planet Earth, you feel that you are on Mars, and you can watch that on the Internet.
But in terms of urban development, Tripoli, the capital, is more beautiful.
Benghazi in Cyrenaica is also excellent in terms of urban development.
As a 15 year old Libyan living in the UK, as my parents moved here for work in the 90s, I frequently visit Libya every year for 2 months in the summer, and really, its a safe place. I'm also into aviation a lot and airlines in Libya are not affected by the civil war in terms of safety. They are affected financially, like all other sectors in Libya, and the main instigator of destruction to Libyan based airlines was the battle of Tripoli airport in 2014, before then aviation was great in Libya, however the airport hasn't been operable since then, and destroyed many aircraft in the process. I heard that the airport is being rebuilt now, and will likely reopen in the next year or 2 if things go to plan. Afriqiya in particular is not a dangerous airline, and the crash that occurred on the Johannesburg-Tripoli flight was due to fatigue, bad conditions and pilot error. It was also in 2010, before the war, so it's not related to the war in any way. There have also been no emergencies involving Libyan aircraft since 2010. So don't be worried when flying with a Libyan airline.
Also, personally I fly with Libyan Airlines, Libyan Wings, and Berniq Airways for the best experience. What you got there with Afriqiyah has been something I've never seen as a passenger flying that route regularly. Berniq Airways however is a brand new, and growing airline based in Benghazi. They seem to have pretty nice planes, much better condition than the dated Libyan Wings, Libyan Airlines, and Afriqiyah products. Crown airlines is also a brand new airline, with 2 in its fleet, aiming to provide premium experiences for passengers, and it flies the same route as well.
@@Inevitably_Gaming Thank you for the report. I only visit Tunisia before. Maybe some day I go Libya..
Inshallah one day we see Libya flourish and thrive
I am somali born in the uk, would i be able to come to libaya
@@Inevitably_Gaming why do people suffer in 🇱🇾 especially the African migrant 😢😢 in you are saying libya is safe country 🤔
Well that's the first and must probably only review of Afriqiyah I will ever see. Good work Josh.
Libya is a hidden gem. I visited recently and it was an incredibly unique experience.
Travelled through Libya in 2009 with a friend. A beautiful country with beautiful, kind people.
Lived in Libya pre Arab Spring was such an awesome experience and made many good friends ,Crazy how things changed since consuderijg Libya is so blessed with natural resources and shouod be easily one of the highest per capita rich countries of the world
I'm an American from Oklahoma, and I lived in Tripoli for 11 years before the Arab Spring. I had to leave due to the security situation, and I miss the country and its wonderful people every single day! I really want to return, but my friends there are telling me to wait a little longer. I flew in and out of Tripoli international mostly on BA and Lufthansa, and occasionally on Air Malta when I had to go to our office there. I flew Lib Air twice, and one of those times was on a super-old 747 from Casablanca to Tripoli. A fight broke out on that flight also, and it wasn't pretty. There wasn't enough crew to control all of the passengers and got dangerous. The crew finally wrestled the trouble-makers to the ground (with the help of the first officer) and the flight was great other than that one issue. Thanks for the great video, and Hello Libya!
As a Libyan-Canadian who was there from 2019 to 2023, theres nothing to wait for, if a fight ever flares out just walk the opposite direction like you would in mexico. One year back in Canada and I'm already planning to go back

Best way to understand what a particular persons culture is all about, is observing them in a normal environment. And a fight starts...
Thank you for your interesting video and I loved to see Tripoli live again after so many years. I worked in Libya fro r two years when i was very young. it is a very beautiful country and i have beautiful memories, Nalut, Gadames, Benghazi, Seba,Sirte, Waddan, Tripoli and Sabrata and Leptis Mania!
Thanks very much for this Josh - Libya has been on my list for years for Roman sites. I hope to get there some day, but I'm 66, and running out of time.
I'm Libyan and I'll be happy if you visit our country
I used to work on the contracted ticket desk for Afriqiyah in LGW, didn't know they were still around. They used to operate their A330 to Tripoli but most of the traffic would connect to Ghana or Nigeria.
as a Libyan I am so happy you had kind of good experience, more bizarre fights and loud voices you are going to experience in Tripoli but trust me it's a nice country and they are hospitable to foreigners... enjoy and welcome.
Thank you for visiting us, and thank you for showing people that Libya is safe ✨

@@Behemoth29
On May 12, 2010, Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771, originating from Johannesburg, crashed just before landing in Tripoli. 103 people were killed. 1 person survived the crash, 9 year old Ruben from the Netherlands. Ruben's parents, brother and sister also died in the crash 😢
@@Behemoth29Yes but cars can't take a nosedive from thousands of feet. Unless they drive off a very high cliff. It's not necessarily about the probability of risk, it's about what the risk entails.
@@peregrino9154 Again, there is way less risk of that happening than having a fatal accident on the way to work.

THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊😊😊
@hamedabasher316 your welcome this my pleasure(☞͡͡°͜ʖ͡͡°)☞❤🖤
This made me remember 2009-2011. I used to fly with Libyan Air or Buraq whenever I came to Tripoli. I was working in Benghazi that time for a hospital. Libyans are really kind and hospitable. So sad their country was destroyed. I wasn't planning to go home that time but the war started so i had to go back my country.
The fight in the airplane is one of the prime examples of lawlesness caused by the ouster of gaddafi. With him,Libya was a country offering so many benefits to its citizens. Once he went,it has been chaos ever since.
Exactly. My doctors told me that if one Libyan get married they get 40,000 Libyan Dinnar from government and free house. Also all persons of household get 500 dinars monthly for each one. If one wants to study the government will pay full whether it be in USA UK etc. During Ghadaffi everything was peaceful and Libya was in bliss. Now it's just a chaotic country struggling to make things normal again but we don't know when
Great to see things are on the up with Libya. My one and only experience was in March 1991 flying from Athens to Benghazi on a Boeing that was the worse for wear, as there was a US embargo on aircraft parts in place for years. I made the wise decision to fly back to Athens with Malta Air.
I lived in Tripoli, Libya in 2011. Great country with friendly people

Love you bro from Gambia 🇬🇲 ❤️ take care, u really doing great stuffs 👍
Such an interesting video. Thanks!!
I like sturdy carry-on luggage, but they weigh too much. If the maximum allowed weight of a carry-on on an airline is 8kg for example, but the carry-on when empty weighs 4 or 5 kg, you can't put very much in it.
Same, I’m all down for a premium fabric carry on bag
Great video! There's always something about the 319, engine looks so huge on that one

Libyan here, welcome to our country. Although I am a little embarrassed by what happened on the plane, government-owned airlines like afriqiyah and Libyan airlines have been struggling these days in Libya, and were overtaken by private airlines. I am happy to see more people from the western world visiting my country. Libya is not as dangerous as most people think, at least currently the situation is stable. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Amazing flight review as always.
As a Libyan person I am saddened by the loss of more than 12 plane in the war, which led to the weakness of aviation in Libya
Libya is an oil producer and the people running the aviation sector could buy what ever they want , so the war isnt a reason for the chaotic state of the aviation in Libya , where is the oil money ?
@@mouradel6432 The war was destroyed 12 Libyan Airlines plane After that, it did not buy any new planes, and no one knows why. They have a contract with Airbus to purchase A350-900 But it was never completed I don't know where all the oil money goes
