So as as the 12800 ISO is you need to be very careful when shooting with highly resolving cameras like Sony FX3 and A7S3 as they do not have OLPF and that can cause some LED lighting go funky.
One way to avoid it is to use a very weak diffusion filter like 1/8th (or weaker) Tiffen ProMist.
I still would rather deal with that than the noise of the Blackmagic Full Frame haha although need to do more testing to be sure...

Honestly it’s mindblowing to me that nobody really talks about this. Every single Sony camera I’ve used except the Venice has this problem with hard contrast edges. FX6/FX3/a7sIII/a7sII/FS7/FX9… yet they have the biggest fanboy community and nobody seems to care. This stuff can make a shot absolutely unusable and there’s no way to fix it in post. The thing is, I really want to love Sony cameras, the FX6 is such a joy to use with its lightweight boxy body and phenomenal internal NDs… but the fact that this could happen anytime makes me so nervous…

My friend you think Sony fanboys are bad - try Blackmagic - it’s a whole new level. Any fanboys make so fucking sick glad there are few like yourself who can see things for what they are. But you know… the fanboys usually are people who either keep their cameras locked up and barely use them or worse - people who don’t even own one and just talk shit online as if they do.

That flickering at the 1:25 looks like a combination of chromatic aberration + miore but I hadn't noticed how bad the moire is on my fx3 until I went wide and sharp on a skyline the buildings in the distance flickering beyond anything I've ever seen.

@@CINENIMUS It's not just Sonys Canons do it too since the DSLR days I have plenty of examples on my old 5D MKII - I think the Sony has actually improved a bit but not much. I keep a shallow depth of field and don't go past a certain stop otherwise it's too sharp and it really shows bad

What's even worse than the Moiré is that nasty pixelated mess at hard contrast edges that you can see in the gas station at 1:25 - I can't believe Sony still has these problems...

Considering. I like their menus and the fact that they innovate the most
