    J-plugs were a staple on our charter boat. Glow in the dark are awesome. A secret we learned back in the 80’s is on the chrome ones, we’d paint the face diving area bright red. I used my moms fingernail polish on the first one. Every fish the next day came off the red face plug

      @ChiCityYaker  Год назад +1

      Don't even think you can find the red head chrome unless someone custom paints it but I have some other red head ones and they do well.

    I learned a lot from your video. It reinforced what others have said regarding running your stacker presentation behind your bottom rig. Would the j- plug style plug be appropriate for other species of salmon? I fish Lake Huron and we have Atlantics and Cohos.

    • @ChiCityYaker
      @ChiCityYaker  2 месяца назад

      Coho will take plugs for sure. I tend to use the smaller size for them specifically but big Coho will take the bigger plugs too.

    The silver horde plug that slides up the line is simply called a silver horde plug, the fixed style silver horde is called a silver horde ace-hi plug.

    Great video, thanks. I have a question. You mentioned running a stacker with the d/f below the plug. I'm assuming it's two rods with a stacker style release. Isn't there a risk of the two lines tangling if they're running close?

    • @ChiCityYaker
      @ChiCityYaker  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, so I realized after the fact that I used the term “stack” which typically is associated with what you mentioned. What I am referring to in this video is separate lines but you’re placing the plugs near the F/F like within 5/10ft both horizontally and vertically. Hope that makes sense

    Have you ever tryed running the plug behind a flasher? Or would it track all over the place?

    • @ChiCityYaker
      @ChiCityYaker  2 месяца назад

      I haven’t nor would i want to do it. Plug has enough action to draw fish in. I don’t think a flasher is needed plus you’d have to run a long lead so it doesn’t impact the plug action.

      Fall time is one of the best times because you don't necessarily need to go out into open water. But in general its all weather dependent. Try to link up with a more experienced LM kayak angler to go out and learn from

      Yellow cedar.
      But now, the lymans, (which are the best) are plastic.
      But also, the cedar plugs are made using screw-in terminal tackle. 100% their weak-point.
