This is probably one of the first videos of TFS where I don't cringe at my performance at all.
ADDITIONAL: I didn't get the dinner-breakfast portmanteau until like...SIX YEARS LATER...I thought it was just a thing that the boys came up with...and when recording it, I corpsed for TEN MINUTES. Kaiser can attest!
I enjoy how you make Gohan sound extra small and cute.

Grandpa Gohan felt leaving him alone on a mountain could be dangerous, so he should probably have a panic button in case of a significantly strong enemy. Hence, the keyword is "Stranger Danger"

It feels very real, like a family member or roommate could eat something you were looking forward to and you’re just stuck being mad about it.

I love the "Hide yo kids" guy. It got so popular that some people tried to buy it off him. But then he went to those meetings in a nice suit with knowledge on how not to get swindled cause he actually has a business degree. He had to rapidly wake up for an interview about an intruder in his area and they thought he was an easy mark.

I really like how at 28:46 there’s a double joke there, where Kami says, “I swear if I didn’t know you I’d call you a smartass.” One, kami knows Goku is being sincere and not trying to be funny, two, Kami indeed knows Goku and knows that he is certainly not worthy of being called a smartass lol.
For me that's like my favorite dialogue in this movie

I love how Cinnamon is horrified that Gohan got hold of an apple.

I was always really confused by the out of order movies TBH.
I think this series has helped me realize why TeamFourStar was lightning in a bottle, because the TEAM balanced everyone out so perfectly.
I didn’t even realize Kaiser voiced Garlic Jr. It’s pretty cool that he can voice Trunks and Garlic Jr. since the difference is so big between them

The fights in this movie are waaay more varied which actually makes them interesting. All the flexible dodges and non-repetitive attacks are so refreshing from DBZ's general fighting choreography

The whole Garlic Jr knowing who Goku is always makes me smile. If only because Goku's achievements are acknowledged. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the world government goes out of its way to hide Goku and his friends' existence.
It feels that way, since the government DEFINITELY knows.
I would like if the Son family is considered a special asset to the Earth. They don't have to pay taxes and their privacy is protected as long as Goku or one of his kids is around to bail them out when shit hits the fan.

Stand out lines for me are “I think he’s fucking dumb,” “EGGS!” “I swear if I didn’t know you I’d call you a smartass” and best of all, Garlic Jr’s underwhelming grunt as Gohan screams him into the Dead Zone.

That Garlic Jr weak little "ugh" and quickly getting knocked back to his defeat is just so perfect and gets me every time. This movie is easily the DBZA thing I've rewatched the most; it's just so tight and pointing out the plotholes in the original is always fun
I loved what TFS did with Garlic Jr's minions in this movie. The voice performances for Cinnamon and Pepper in particular were great and the delivery on a lot of their lines are super funny. Definitely some of the more memorable DBZ movie minions for me.
My favorite line was Gohan telling one of the goons that he smells like hair spray and Shea butter. And as a black guy that hit a little close to home because i do that lol

Fun fact . The first dub of the this film pioneer dub 2 of the minions shouted “ tuti fruity “ and “ pepperoni”

They’re genuinely just as memorable as the main villain here
Piccolo’s “I don’t need help” line is badass and extremely well delivered, but I personally have always thought that it would’ve been better if he said, “You’re right. Because unlike you, I don’t have friends.” I think the subversion, the inherent humor, and the fact that it’s totally in line with Piccolo’s character would’ve made it work perfectly.
Love it, slight note: "I don't NEED friends" sounds better for his character.

I NEVER noticed two things Kaiser pointed out. One, the fangs making the entrance to the Dead Zone a mouth. And two, the fact that the "It's even sucking up your children." was a reference to that interview. Once he started to explain it, I INSTANTLY remembered that interview if even just barely enough to know what he was referencing it was SO long ago. I LOVE when they point of certain jokes' references cause while I might not have realized it before it was pointed out, a lot of the time when one of them points out what the joke is referencing, I near instantly realize exactly what they're talking about.

There was a viral clip a couple weeks ago where an Indonesian girl and an Austrian girl are meeting irl and she suddenly blurts out "My skin is yellower than yours!"
It was just an observation, neither positive nor negative but you could see the gears in the Austrian girl's head turning. She eventually (carefully) agreed that her skin was pinker. A little later she blew her mind that her eyes weren’t colored contacts.
25:15 I always liked that fluid animation too, I never saw the movie but it was always in the "Rock the Dragon" intro. Also how he switched hands with his blades while running towards Goku was damn fine animation.

The whole "Oh my shit" scene is my second favorite scene from this, taka's "fucking amber sorry up in here!" is my favorite. Remix was hilarious especially when they announce their name and he goes eggggggsss lol. And agreed WHEN GARLIC THE OLD?

@@Shift_Salt hahaha yeah, my head canon with Krillin is it was that knock on the head and/or him blocking it all out due to the memory of getting pissed on haha. (But yeah, slightly more serious, I think the whole framing device of it being a movie he's pitching to Nappa is what explains it all. Especially since Garlic Jr only ever interacts with Mr. Popo in the non-Kai DBZA canon.)

12:57 "I will slap FIAH FROM YEW!" Is one of my all time favorite line deliveries in all of DBZA. Antfish absolutely killed it as Cinnamon in this movie. All of the villains are great here, particularly Scott as Garlic Jr., but Cinnamon has some amazing lines and deliveries that sell harder than a sale at a dollar store.
Honestly, I didn't even know it was Antfish until the credits the first time I watched it. The man who voices Barrett and Captain Ginyu all of a sudden has this voice as well? Surprising as hell, and I'm 100% for it. He nailed it for sure.

It's definitely in the castle when Garlick finds out that they kidnapped Goku's son and that they beat up his wife, it's so beautiful. Let me tell you that Abridged Dragon Ball is the best thing that has happened to youtube. There is literally nothing better. I thank you with all my heart.

I love the DBZA Dead Zone, it's utterly hilarious from start to finish and when I reach for DBZA because I want something to make me laugh, Dead Zone is a favourite.
20:02 - it's this reason. I remember it being a big revelation in the manga that Kami dying neutralizes the dragon balls. Kami even tries to play off this ignorance in order to try and get Goku to kill Piccolo. Everyone even agrees with him until Goku reveals that Mr. Popo told him what would happen if Piccolo or Kami died.

My fav bit of all the commentaries is when Lani decides to just fuckin do the voice acting for the scene live. It makes me so happy.

I love how much this feels like OG DragonBall, with the power pole and choreography and such- it all feels a bit more...grounded, I guess than most Frieza Saga stuff. Your guys' humor really helps this movie shine so well.
