any ambient sounds that include animals would not be a good choice for the game, as it would be confusing to determine what sound is from a mob and what is just ambience. If we wanted cricket and bird noises why not just add crickets and birds? It would be really strange and honestly immersion breaking if we're walking through some empty land and hear all sorts of non existent animals. however, rustling leaves and wind would be great ambient sound additions!

Redwood forest needs to be in minecraft, it is such a unique atmostphere where trees make you feel like a dwarf. At some point of time, anyone with the knowledge of redwood trees has thought about this. thanks for pointing it out.

Honestly I agree I am planning to go to the redwood national park one day, it be so amazing having them in minecraft, maybe have some same height, Sequoia trees and make the huge ones like 100 blocks tall with massive trucks be rare though. But if you do find them, you can hollow the tree and make your own house within the tree, I think it be awesome.

Redwood definitely needs to be addted some time soon. That is why the Mega Taiga is my favorite biome as it actually feels like you are in that biome. The tall trees gives it such an immersive experience. The rocks and the podzol also gives it a very old and ancient feel, kind of like it has existed for hundreds of years before you created that world.

I feel like caves could use actual ambient sounds instead of just the cave noises. Like rocks falling, the cave settling, and just a general low humming drone in the background. While not exactly scary it would make caves very unsettling and uncomfortable. I think thats something they could use. Also i think a subtle wind sound if the cave you're in has an exit on 2 sides would be sick. Mostly to let you know you aren't walking into a dead end. I have to imagine it would be wierd to code and might not be possible, but it would be sick.

Sadly it wouldn't work without a major rework. You can even get the current cave noises while just inside your base because of the way it is done. So the idea of constant annoying noises in your base is probably one of the reasons they don't consider it.

For the 4-pixel hit box, I think it could cause issues if you want to hit through the block - such as when fighting a mob or something. I think the best solution would honestly be something similar to the create mod, where the same type of block can be placed adjacent to another when clicking on the side or along it. That way a long chain can be made just by clicking on the same chain multiple times!

    • @lygencore
      @lygencore 7 месяцев назад +58

I was thinking exactly about that but came up with the solution of increasing the hitbox only when holding the item in hand, although I don’t think it would be more practical than your idea

For items like chains, it's be nice if they worked like kelp, based on whether you're looking up or down it would place the next chain up or down the stack of chains. Even with the current hitbox that would make them so much easier to use.

I agree with most things, but I strongly disagree with removing cheats at 6:00. I enjoy that they give players absolute freedom to play the game as they desire. This feels more like a personal self control issue. As a workaround, I'm sure there are simple mods out there that can disable the option.
I think adding an official shader pack would be cool, but disagree that it looks out dated. Vanilla is still extremely popular, and allows flexibility on playing through every platform. People enjoy and are very used to the general aesthetic. Forcing any of those changes on the millions of players that love the base game would probably be in poor taste.

There's a very good reason you can choose whether to turn cheats on or off when starting a lan world: if you normally play with cheats on, it allows you to turn them off when someone comes to visit. In the same way, using cheats to give a friend a quick head-start if they're visiting an established world isn't all that ridiculous. Not everyone plays the game the same way, I personally often tend to keep them on and then not use them unless the situation really calls for it

The allow cheats should not be removed. Sure people use it to cheat in hardcore but it comes in handy in the case if your world hardcore or not uses data packs and some datapacks i have used in the past need cheats on for initial setup. Also If you need to change settings incase of an update to a datapack and you again need to make changes. Removing the allow cheats button will lock people completely out of these settings since they are basically command line based. Case in point I had a datapack in a survival world completely break because Minecraft updated from 1.19.1 to 1.19.2 And enabling the cheats was the only way to fix the issue after the datapack it's self was updated to 1.19.2.

    • @evilvixen05
      @evilvixen05 6 месяцев назад +4

yup, especially with some modpacks... Like Medieval Minecraft, given my past issues I always had Allow Cheats on just in case things break or something funky happens. Like ticking issues or for some reason when you spawn into the world the first time, it spawns you into a wall underground. I never typed spectator so fast to prevent myself from dying because of it.
It shouldn't be removed because it can fix issues when playing modded and such.

I got a lot of things to say so bear with me.
As much as I like the idea of biome specific sounds and/or music, one of the original charming things of Minecraft was how music and sounds weren’t subjective, and just played completely randomly. It’s hard to describe that feeling mundanely mining out an area and suddenly a song starts playing.
With the cheats one I think it is really just an issue of self control. On Bedrock we have a confirm cheats pop-up that tells you achievements will disable if you continue. You play survival for the experience, and if you don’t want that then just go in a creative world.
Also just an additional few things I’d want in the game:
-more nature features. Things like the snow on stuff but also things like auroras visible from mountaintops and varying amounts of stars visible at night, and maybe even constellations
-simple thing but a few more pottery shards, stuff like an directional arrows, a sun and moon, weather symbols, a flower, maybe a few more animals, a clock and compass, a boat, and some tool icons
-fireflies (yes I am still salty about that, I keep finding places in my world where they would be perfect)
-glass pane-type forms for copper grates and tinted glass
-some of the stuff from caves and cliffs concept art, like stone chests and pots, and the crystal cave biome thing. And of course that birch forest

Atm, Minecraft systems rely on players being organised themselves, and convenience only comes with mechanations and automation, which are both good and bad in its own ways. I personally am on the side that they don't need to simplify it that much, since we can build item storages and item sorters, but I can see how accessibility can be wonderful for many people, and not everyone is going to make bulk storages and massive, complex item sorters for the absolute buttload of items.

Mangrove roots have no purpose other than being compostable, but if they were able to be crafted into sticks, that would make them much more appealing to collect and in newer updates the axe can be used to scrape bark off of logs and oxidization off copper blocks. If they use this for older blocks like being able to scrape the moss off of mossy cobblestone and mossy bricks that would make the mechanic feel more normal and give more things to do with those blocks.

I would be so happy if they added a redwood forest, I live in Oregon only a two hour drive away from a redwood forest, the feeling you get standing among the towering trees that look like they stretch to the sky is enchanting. There are also a good amount of block they could add to make it drastically different from a taiga, from some types of foliage and plant blocks, and maybe a block that looks like the floor of a redwood forest, and obviously some redwood logs, wood, etc. I just thought this all up in a few minutes without any in-depth research on redwoods.

Some thoughts concerning your ideas on this subject...
-I personally like your idea for custom tabs as it could become a major time saver for building in creative, however it could be a bit hard to add with custom banners and whatnot
-The backpack idea I have heard a lot over time which I think is a great way to have the player gain inventory space as they progress, however I think that just adding more inventory space could be a much simpler solution
-I personally don't see the 4 pixel hitboxes as much of a problem (I build in creative a lot and I have yet to encounter this issue)
-The ambient sounds and particle effects are a very good suggestion as it breaths a lot of life into the game overall
    - The shield and totem issue would probably be best solved by making them less visible in first person, as I think that adding necklaces would feel a bit overkill and probably wouldn't fit the game as much
-As for cheats, I don't think its as much of an issue, it just comes down to how determined you are on playing the way you want to play
-I personally prefer map art over any addition of easier alternatives as I like how difficult it is to make something that elaborate in survival, and it makes it feel better when you finally accomplish it
-As for performance, I think that this is a very good suggestion
-As for the game becoming easier, I think it comes down to the game moving away from survival/progression and more into a more creative field, which I think is for the better. However I think that it could still be made more challenging, such as updating old structures, making certain ores harder to find, revisiting mobs like the ender dragon and elder guardian, ec.)

This is a fantastic video, with a great many good ideas in it.
I love the idea of backpacks appearing as a tab on the inventory when you pick them up. (Seven leather in a capital i shape with two string in the empty spots ought to be a good crafting recipe, costing enough to make it a little work to get one, but not so much that you couldn't accomplish it easily early game.) Having multiple backpack tabs in creative (because you would only be able to carry one at a time in survival) would make designing builds much quicker and easier. The leather in the recipe would mean dyes could be used to colour code backpacks, and being able to change the name on the fly while accessing them would mean an anvil wouldn't be needed and craft-able name tags wouldn't need to become a thing.
Having extra ambient sounds for each biome, to help bring them more to life would be good.
The concept of necklaces (such as a totem necklace, a horn necklace, or a spyglass necklace - recipe being five string in the top two rows making a helmet recipe shape, with the item to go on the necklace in the bottom middle spot), together with a keybind that could be used to equip the item for right-clicking (e.g. [r] + [right click]) would mean it wouldn't have to be switched onto the hotbar first too.
I don't know that the easel would be such a good idea for something in-game, but having access to some stripped down image editing software (a Mojang-ified Microsoft Paint?) via a button on the main menu would mean players could create their own artwork to then use in-game, within an environment that could have options to produce 1x1, 2x1, 1x2, etc designs that could go on paintings or banners, removing the need to use item frames, maps, and a large area of any world to achieve the same effect. Artwork would be stored locally on the users computer, but Realms could offer the facility to upload created artwork for use in a players Realms world, while also allowing Mojang to run artwork through image recognition software, to enable them to enact some content moderation without needing the player reporting system first (private servers could upload their artwork into the relevant folder, with player reporting being used to have Mojang review possibly over-realistic aubergine, peach, melon, etc. artwork). The editor could also have its own clipboard, to prevent copying and pasting into its workspace, thus requiring all artwork to be user generated, introducing an obstacle to the creation of undesired content, while not preventing a user from creating it for use in their own worlds if it's them creating it from scratch.
More snow covered blocks, like the stairs and fences you showed would be fantastic.

I think for backpacks, a new slot should be introduced. It would like an accessory slot that could contain elytra, backpacks, maybe a back-held banner (that'd be cool), a back-held shield (for a little bit extra protection, but it can't actively "block"), a hanging lantern/torch/glowstone/etc... item for a following light source, maybe for the totem as well?, an extra reach item (if a crab claw equivalent items gets added eventually), an item vacuum (for extra pick-up distance/speed for experience), and a whole bunch of different options.

If you're in a crowded room is hard to listen to anything. There are people CONSTANTLY making suggestions for what they deem to be good for Minecraft, regardless of if it actually fits the game (no joke the feedback site has posts like "add CARS to Minecraft"). Just because they don't blindly add everything the community suggests doesn't mean they don't listen.
Think about it. We wanted a Nether update, they gave us a Nether update. We wanted a cave update, they added a cave update. We wanted more customization options, they added armor trims. We want more incentive for exploration and more challenging dungeons, they add Trial Chambers. We wanted cherry trees and bamboo wood, they gave us cherry trees and bamboo wood. All the villager rebalance experimental features were made in direct response to people saying that mending is too powerful. We wanted a new skeleton variant instead of skeletons holding tipped arrows, they gave us the Bogged.
A LOT of the content added in recent updates are things that we've been asking for. Its so annoying that so many people insist that they don't listen, just because they don't give you exactly what you want every time.

Good list. I have an ongoing document on my phone of dozens and dozens of changes I would make to Minecraft. For example, I would completely get rid of the durability bar, and replace it with simple visual representations of the items at different stages of decay. And when the item finally breaks, it does not disappear forever, but becomes a “broken” item that simply can’t be used until it is repaired. In my view this would greatly improve the durability system, making it more fun if you could to collect and repair broken items, without the endless waste of making new items, and would eliminate the desperate need to put Mending on everything, helping to balance out the overall system.

I do like the idea of backpacks. I've used them in another mod, as well as the necklace and such tab, and they really do help clean up the player's inventory, although one could argue that having a chest monster on your back is just as much a con as a pro. The controls themselves actually could use a cleanup first. Some mods add sort features for chests which really help a lot, as well as a simple click and drag feature that allows you to swipe a load of items into your inventory (or back into a chest) instead separately clicking each stack. This latter feature I probably miss the most whenever I've used it and then switched back to vanilla minecraft.
Lowering/changing the orientation for shields/totems. YES. I downloaded something from vanilla tweaks that does this and it makes things sooo much better. There's no balancing issue with allowing people to see their screen better. One could argue there is with a totem necklace as currently it's all about making the choice between blocking on demand vs getting an extra life, but seeing past the items you're holding just makes sense. Like, no one in their right mind would hold items in front of their face while running, lol.
I'm on the fence about LAN cheats. I have a world without cheats enabled that I've spent a LOT of time and effort on, but I have used the LAN cheat feature in a world copy a couple times to experiment with a few things since I get to use the exact terrain and current building locations see what's going on - it's also a world that began in 1.16 and was upgraded over time to 1.20, which is why the exact terrain feature is so important to me. I can't just regenerate the seed and see my current world. But I get why you dislike the feature, because it allows people to cheat death in a hardcore world if they know about it.
Larger hitboxes. Amazing for creative builders, total nightmare for technical minecrafters. Unfortunately these small hitboxes are actually extremely important for a variety of redstone contraptions and mob farms, so as much as I like the idea of more easily being able to spam chains and window panes, I'm gonna vote no on that one.
Ambient sounds could get a little overwhelming if they're too busy sounding. We'd need a separate volume control for these if they were ever implemented. I actually have something downloaded from vanilla tweaks that turns off all the ambient cave sounds and significantly lowers the sound of nether portals and the eating sound. Some sounds are incredibly noisy for people like me. I really wish I could also lower the sound for your tool breaking and when skeletons take damage, because those sounds make me jump out of my skin when they occur unexpectedly. I think it's the high pitch tones that make me jump. I also generally have the music turned off as well.
Combat. Not much to say there as I began playing in the late days of 1.15 and never went through the combat change, but I definitely hate that potions are unstackable. I'm not sure I understand the logic of being able to hold an entire stack of steaks to consume, but can't hold more than a single bottle. It just feels like a weird leftover concept from the days when food items were unstackable. It also makes my storage a nightmare. If they want a tradeoff, I'd be more than happy to make the brewing process harder just so that I can stack my potions in the end.

Just my opinions on every single point, if you're willing to read them:
    1. Inventory Management.
The multiple tabs thing seems okay in Creative. It feels like something Mojang might actually add. But for Survival, with or without backpacks, there's almost no chance. It's too "out of Minecraft", they would think. You can tell based on other things they just refuse to add.
    2. Larger Hitboxes.
Yup. Add this. It makes perfect sense. The 4 pixel wide hitboxes are just plain stupid. Nothing more needs to be said.
    3. Ambient Sounds.
A cool idea, but I doubt they would add it. Same problem as 1. it just seems too outside Minecraft. Hearing ambient sounds of animals is too mod-like, and they usually don't add stuff mods already have covered.
    4. Particle Effects.
This is basically same as 3. as in it's a cool idea but is something that mods already have covered and is a bit too far "outside Minecraft".
    5. Smaller Items.
There's basically no chance this is going to be added. Texture packs already cover it fully, there just isn't much point. I doubt they'll do anything about it. And the totem equip able in a separate slot will DEFINITELY not be added. Too mod-like, too OP, etc.
    6. Remove Lan Cheats.
Come on. If you don't want to cheat, don't cheat. If you can't help yourself, you're obviously not fit for playing survival. Just don't try. Seems a bit ridiculous.
    7. New Crafting Block.
Same as 3 and 4, too outside Minecraft, too mod-like. Would be really fun though.
    8. Performance and Visuals.
This isn't going to be added for the exact reason you said it should be added. Mods and Shaders cover it. Performance is indeed quite bad, and I'm sure they make minor, minor changes to make it perform better. But nothing about this is likely to change any time soon.
    9. Lack of Progression.
This can't really be changed. It's too SET. Unless you want to add something like Smithing Templates required for every single armor piece, which is frankly a horrible idea. PLUS. Mods already cover it. Again. Play RLCraft if Minecraft is feeling too easy, and then when you come back from it 5 minutes later you'll be grateful how easy Minecraft is.
    10. Better Combat Systems.
The current combat system isn't bland, you're thinking of 1.8 or something. It works perfectly. I don't think there's much else to say.
If you've read this far I'm impressed. And please just remember this is all my personal opinion, and that I didn't think too heavily about this either.

  • @villager736

After performance, utility, and visual improvements I think Minecraft really needs an overworld update.
Improve the oceans by adding more biomes, expanding existing ones, allowing access to normal ores such as having them grow on coral, create deeper oceans, add easier way to explore it, more aquatic mobs hostile and not, maybe a few extra structures, and making it so that the only way to get the trident is from an ocean monument.
Expand on existing biomes such as deserts, badlands, mushroom islands, icespikes, and savannas. Like adding new mobs, block, mechanics or other features.
Deserts should have better cactuses which could be some kind of wood alternative kind of like bamboo, more dead bushes, maybe it's own kind of tree, more realistic looking dunes, interesting rock formation, upgrade the desert well and temple to be more interesting and fun, add giant scorpions which you can kill for a potion of poison resistance, Mongolian death worm inspired mob, and maybe an oasis too.
Badlands could have illager bandits, vultures, tumble weeds, rattle snakes, bison, wild west styled villages/villagers, and change generation to be more realistic.
The Mushroom Islands need the biggest changes. Which probably could be adding a new mushroom tree wood type which when placed near plants speeds up their growth, more mushroom based mobs none of which should be hostile, mobs inspired by cordyceps infections of insects, a huge upgrade in terrain generation for this biome to make it more interesting, and adding mushroom shrubs some of which should produce a green glow at night.
For the icespsike biome I think the spikes should be more jagged, change the ice it's made out of to be some type of new ice which can't melt and also can stop any plants on the block above it from growing, adding ores inside the spikes themselves like iron, coal, or copper, and maybe a new type of mob to go with it like maybe a yeti mob.
Finally for the savanna it needs more big animals, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and ostrichs, maybe a new tree type, and a huge terrmite mound structure you can explore for unique loot.
I know adding these features would take a very long time but I hope they add stuff like this one day. Or that someone just makes a mod with all these features.

I think there should be something like a minecraft 2, that wasn't really a sequel, but more like a companion or sister game to minecraft that was basically minecraft but if it was made with modern guidelines from the start. Many of the things introduced before the microsoft acquisition can not be changed because they're either iconic(like the inventory) or their code is a mess(like minekarts or optimization) independently of how outdated they are. But in a new game, they could implement everything the original game already has but remove everything that doesn't go with modern guidelines and standards. And they could update both at the same time without affecting the other.

They should add ambient mobs that are more common. Eagles are all over the world. Deers are in all kind of forest. And variants of deers. Like elks, moose and reindeer. And also more immersive skies and water. Larger creatures likes whales in the ocean fill up a lot of space. Deeper ocean. Like at least 30 blocks deeper as right now, its too shallow. Small standalone cabins in the wood. Abandoned small campsite with chest, extinguished campfire and a bed in the caves. Or like larger trees to add more immersion. And ambience of course. Bird chirping mean at least a few birds need to be added. Not just the current parrot and possible future vulture. Also more weapons. They would need new inventory without being too OP or 'non vanilla' as many minecraft fans say. And then even larger sky limit so the oceans can be deeper, trees much taller, mountains actually like mountain even though 1.18 did change the previous mountains which are the size of hills to the current mountains which are the size of mini mountains. So like 512 or 1024. And optimize the game so it doesn't lag from the new height. Like the mod that had almost infinite height limit didn't lag much so I don't see how a large gaming studio funded by Microsoft can't.

Nice video, Most of the ideas here I like. The larger hit boxes, ambient sounds and particle effects are definitely great improvements as would optimising the game better and providing visual improvements. The LAN cheats doesn't really bother me as I can see why thay might be needed in some cases and for those actually cheating, well that is a shame but probably mostly impacts them more than me. I do love the idea of being able to create your own paintings and use them across worlds.
The inventory management problem is not an easy one to fix IMO, it has different challenges in different aspects of the game which is why I think bundles ultimately fail to solve the problem, by the time you start crafting them you have a bigger problem than what they solve, my solution would be multi faceted. 1) Leather chestplates expand your inventory to twice the size (double chest) 2) A new chestplate enchantment with three tiers is added that can add one extra row of inventory per tier - meaning a leather chest plate could tripple your inventory. 3) Gold/diamond hoppers that provide some degree of item filtering making automatic storage possible for most players (less redstone know how required) 4) enchantable shulkers to provide item inventory utility.
As for other ideas I would like to see, an overhaul of enchanting in minecraft with the enchanting table made central to the process, minecarts improved as well as transport in general, more variation in terain features (like trees) and structure generation, exploration improvements, and I would love to see a fully redone weather system (and even seasons could be great).
Thanks again for another cool video

    - survival mode that gives a reason to play (besides decorating) after you get diamond gear. Maybe something where you have to defend your base against hordes that can actually destroy everything. Arming villagers, giving them roles (archers, swordsmen, pikemen, cavalry).
    - generated stats to each enchantment. Example: Fortune 1 will be Fortune 0 - 33%, Fortune 2 will be Fortune 34 - 66%, Fortune 3 will be Fortune 67 - 100%. The higher percentage the bigger the chance to get a boost with the item.

    What I'd like :
    1/ Enhanced graphics and shaders
2/ More sound effect and particles
3/ Enhanced animal models (most are really simple when they could be so much better, mods does that but it is a shame to have to ask modders for things like that)
4/ More animals, bring more life to the game (insects, birds, and everything)
5/ Better trees (make them taller and slightly different from each others)
6/ Cut down the whole tree if a block is destroyed (exept if it has a more than one block wide trunk)
7/ More trees variety (how do we not have yellow/orange/red leaves yet as well as palm trees and such)
8/ Vertical slabs (because wall typically aren't 1 meters wide) and being able to mix different slabs together
9/ More food type (from meat to crops)
10/ Maybe a bit controversial but harder survival (add a water bar, and make food harder to get and to store) because food is typically a problem for the first 30 minutes and then it is just there to annoy you periodically)
    11/ More structures
12/ Upgrade transport, give us more than a rowboat and a cart, why not make us craft big working boat and trains
Most of it could be done with mods, but if everything is "just download X mods" (while struggling with compatibility issues between them) because the devs aren't doing the necessary work to improve their games, then the game should be an open source free game at that point

I agree that trying to place blocks on one of the 4 pixel blocks is annoying, but having those smaller hitboxes is helpful in a hand full of situations. It would be better if they added a hot key that would switch the hitbox of all blocks between full blocks and the actual space that the blocks take up.

Gosh, I honestly think the biggest thing I'd love for them to add would be an expanded village system. An update that essentially combines the Minecraft Comes Alive and Millenaire mods into the game as base content.Though I would definitely expand it even further than even these mods took it:
    - Proper kingdom building
    - Growing villages into larger and larger settlement types (villages, towns, cities, etc...)
    - Conquest and war
    - More villager types (Soldiers / Guards, Healers, Nobles / Leaders, etc...)
    - More village building types
Just as something that a player in single player could do that would really expand the game in a massive way.

There are so many things I'd love Mojang to add that it's not funny. I'll list a few of my favs, but by no means are these ALL I would add. First off, I 100% agree with everything except the cheats one. Minecraft really does need an aesthetic/ambiance update in general. Why are most oak trees like 3 blocks tall!? Absolutely ridiculous... Every biome feels empty. There are no fallen trees, underbrush or wildflowers, etc in forest biomes. Falling leaves, leaf piles, small stones and things like forage-able mushrooms/flowers (not the silly looking single mushrooms and flowers), or small critters would make the world feel more alive. Ditto for all the other biomes with biome specific things - shells on the beach, cattails in the swamps, etc. I'd love the addition of more fantastical biomes too. We have the nether and the end, sure, but I'd love to see something similar in the overworld - a magical fairy forest, or an underwater biome where the sand is pearlescent or something. Something to get the imagination going, and to tie in with the absolutely woeful magic system they've sort of got going on. An update/expansion to the magic system. I want to be able to inlay blocks with metals and carve wood like we can chisel stone. I want PLACEABLE ITEMS! Why can't I place a book on a table? Or put a water bucket on the ground? Why can't I put a helmet on a shelf? Anything to give life to my builds! Placeable tools would be great too or a kind of tool rack so we can store them somewhere other than a chest and so we can enhance our builds. Also, if you make the pumpkin pie a placeable object it could be the only food in the game that you can eat in inventory and on the ground, which could be interesting. On this note, I'd also add more small decorations. If I want a statue in my garden, I am limited to how small I can make it, before it's literally just a blob. Give me small decorations I can place in the world. Garden gnomes, bowls, frames for paintings, nests for chickens - hell, anything on a smaller scale!

So on the topic of the backpack, I think the idea you showed that has an extra inventory on the right side works amazing, and that those bundles... Yea they are pretty useless so let's give them a use. The backpack costs 6 leather, 2 iron and a chest. The backpack is an extra inventory on the right side of your inventory, and it can be equipped like a chest piece. The backpack by default has either 6 or 12 inventory slots to begin (I have not decided if 6 is too little or 12 is to much). The backpack can have the same enchantments as the elytra and has the same durability as the elytra, however it functions damage wise like regular armor, so when you take damage it's durability goes down. Now about those bundles... You can take those terrible little things to an anvil with the backpack, and add an additional inventory slot to your backpack! You can add an additional 6 bundles to the backpack giving the backpack both that early game expansion and that late game adjustment since rabbit fur at that point the player would probably have a farm. Thats my take on the backpack!!! also it can be dyed, armor trimmed, and set down :) (Also I guess if they really felt the need, they could also replace the chest in the crafting station with a shulker, but that would defeat the early to mid game use of it, since you would have to get it after the dragon)

Bundles are actually pretty great at what they're intended to do - being a junk drawer for all the little tiny stacks of seeds, flowers, rotten flesh, and other junk items you pick up whenever you leave your base. Honestly the only thing they need is the ability to reach into them and take out a specific set of items instead of only being able to toss everything out of the bundle at once. I think that, rather than backpacks, I'd like for them to give us more inventory spaces and make that change to bundles. Completely agreed on custom Creative mode tabs though!
I would love an ambience update as well to make existing biomes feel more alive and not so static!
I think my biggest disagreement is the ease of access to cheats. People can play however they want and some people like an easier version of survival mode or a mix of survival and creative. I think limiting it would go against the idea of how Minecraft can be played however you want. Also, an official Mojang-made shader pack in the vanilla game feels weird to me. Minecraft's look is iconic and I don't see a need for realistic lighting, shadows and water in the vanilla game. Anyone can download a mod for those in a couple minutes. Not really a risk to downloading multiple mods so long as you're only downloading from Modrinth or Curseforge.

1: Something to help with inventory management would be nice, but I'm not sure what that should look like. Some improved usability for creative players would be nice.
2: Fair point. A slight increase to the hitbox size would be a great change.
3: A bit extra but could go a long way. I can't say I'd dislike new ambient sounds.
    4: Same as above
5: Having the shield at an angle certainly improves visibility. Shape language might hurt a little bit for it. Extra equipment slots aren't necessary and would just increase complexity for little payoff.
6: If you dislike survival because of the option that you CAN cheat, than perhaps you're not interested in the survival experience to begin with and just prefer to mess around, which is also valid, but that's no reason to remove the feature.
7: This is very cool and I understand the desire for it, but I think it might be a bit extra for the vanilla game.
8: Performance, agreed. Visual bugs, also yes. Visuals no, especially if that comes at the cost of performance. While I like shaders, I don't find them to be necessary. I think the game looks fine as is, minus some edge cases and bugs.
9: Minecraft is a game that means a lot of different things to different people. As an open sandbox game, I do not subscribe to the idea that the game needs more progression. More options for players is way more valuable. for challenges, it'd be nice to see more stuff like the Trial Chambers, where you can go and engage in tough combat challenges as an optional thing instead of having it forced upon the player.
10: I've been wanting Combat improvements for a while. Stuff like the "Swing Through Grass" mod and many of the changes made during the combat snapshot tests would be nice to see.

No reason to remove the open to LAN + enable cheats feature, just add options to block it/prevent hardcore worlds from opening to LAN at all, some of us like to add things to our worlds that are impossible to do in survival. For example, I spent the time on my multiplayer realm building a dungeon and rigging it with command blocks and adding specially made gold ingots as a currency for custom villagers to allow the purchase of items normally unobtainable in survival, such as mob eggs. It’s a WIP as far as balancing rewards/time spent and not allowing access to anything that truly breaks the game, but it’s fun for people that have been playing together for 10+ years.
Also, as far as 4 pixel hitboxes go, that’s fine but both need to be in the game, there are several instances where I have to click behind a fence post for something and this would be impossible with your proposed change.
Minecraft’s issues are not always simple and do not have simple easy fixes

  • @Hawaiian_1ce
    @Hawaiian_1ce 7 месяцев назад

I strongly agree with many of your points, I have commentary share on those points:
Regarding point #5, yes *please* let me see better with the shield. Moreover, something that I think is important to mention is that the shield hitbox also doesn't coincide with the visual element when you go to block (edit: in first person. you can observe the actual hitbox in 3rd person). If you actually want to block, say, an arrow, in order for it to hit the shield, you have to turn to the opposite direction of the shield. I usually have it in my off hand/left hand, so I always have to turn to the right for it to block the arrow, which is extremely annoying.
More on point 5 too, you have to be holding totems for them to work, yes? I especially would like to advocate for something like the totem necklace because whenever I'm in a dire situation and need a resurrection, it's because I'm fighting a large quantity of mobs, or just very strong mobs (modded mc), and my sword, shield, and armor weren't enough. I don't have a spare 3rd hand to hold my totem at times, you don't always know when you'll die, and it can be difficult to swap to your totem when panicking, even if it's just the next item over in your hotbar.
Regarding point #7, I love the easel as a way to save us hundreds and thousands of blocks, large plots of land, and lots of our time so we don't need a map to do it. However, I don't quite think it should be a stand-in for banners as well (at least, correct me if I'm wrong, the video seemed to suggest that). Something that I love about creating banners is that it requires you to really think and be really creative with how you design stuff. It's not obvious how to make whatever your heart desires. I do think the banner could use more patterns. Does it already have a lot of patterns? Yes, but I believe adding more will give players even greater versatility. Or, heck, even increasing the amount of patterns that can be applied to a banner would be great.
Speaking of shields and banners, I'm often disappointed when I have banners with visual elements that are only a pixel or two wide, and that element gets completely erased when I apply it to a shield. I play modded mc a lot, and for example, one of the mods generates structures, some of which containing banners. One of the banners is of a diamond sword, and when I put it on my shield, to my disappointment, it turned into a diamond light saber instead. believe there needs to be a better solution to applying banners to shields than just compressing the image.
