Mojang is FINALLY Listening

- Mojang, the creators of Minecraft, have had a real challenge keeping up with player demand - pretty hardcore.
RUclipsrs like ibxtoycat, camman18 and even DanTDM have spoken out about the lack of features in recent Minecraft updates, but I'm here to find out what this actually means and hopefully upload in less than 100 DAYS!

tha crafter alone being in vanilla is absolutely nuts
So true, its crazy
What is the appeal of automatically crafting something opposed to doing it yourself
It honestly seems like doing it yourself is faster.
@@LogShaw1587 it has a lot of uses. Now you can sit back and AFK on your farm because the crafter will craft anything you need
@@LogShaw1587 essentially i like to use it as another extension of my existing farms. it’s a tool that’s supposed to be used in mass with other farms. let’s say you have multiple double chests full of bones from a skeleton farm and you want to compact all of that into bone blocks. the crafter is there for that. you can use it to compact items that are farmed for already. it can help when mass crafting things with complex or annoying recipes like dispensers or the mosaic bamboo blocks. and it’s a nice decoration block (i use it as a cupboard for my kitchen) the side of the crafter looks neat to me.
It's basically all of those auto-crafters from mods.
I like how Mojang is starting to see how exploration can be just as fun as building, mining, and crafting. It’s also nice to see how as you explore more and more you get rewarded with items that improve gameplay (the mace, armor trims, elytra, etc.).
Absolutely, I think exploration has been a focus since the deep dark was added
Exploration still has a long way to go, imo. The great spoiler that is the internet certainly doesn't help but even without that, it doesn't take long to get to a point where everything looks the same and the only slightly interesting stuff is just there to kill you.
I kinda hope Villager rebalance gets into further development it's a great concept that makes the game more balanced while also encouraging exploration
@@ruthlessadmin is this problem solvable though? This is how sandboxes and procedurally generated world work
@@georgeuferov1497 you just add more biome exclusive mechanics like emeralds in the mountains. They could put more diamonds in desert, for example. But making a system like this would require new ores or unique mobs that are actually useful
the auto crafter is also is ANOTHER example of listening to the community. us redstoners have been begging on our hands and knees for years to see it, and now that it's here...really, this whole update seemed like a sort of almost love letter to the community. it's got a LOT of stuff people have wanted for a while, and I think that minecraft may just start dominating with an absolute takeover like back in 2014 again.
If the next update is like 1.21 (or better!) Minecraft is so back
@@VaguelyGood agreed dude. people may hate on it still (people always find something to be mad at after all) but the game went from a few people putting it on life support with the recent updates to adding a good many community requests from many years back all in one (and a half, 1.20.6 lol) update.
if they do an end update in the next 2 years then minecraft will probably hit heights not seen outside of covid in the gaming industry.
the great thing about wolf variants is that mojang added them on their own accord, not with a vote.
Very very true, and all of the designs have some charm to them!
yeah, but it took a vote to spark it happening. they were only added because of the wolf armor and then i think one of the texture artists had been working on some wolf variant textures and other people at mojang liked them, so they added them.
I think they only added wolves reskins to distract people from mob vote outrage
mmmmmmm i dunno about that..... I feel liek if the Crab won they'd do something like "oh hey guys! we made the claw also extended attack range!" in place of what would be the wolf variants
as they should
im so glad mojang is finally fixing their spaghetti code. the change to making enchantments data driven recently was a good example of mojang making efforts to make their development easier so they can make better updates for the game, more quickly. we just need to give mojang a bit of time to cook, rather than constantly complaining about the lack of content
Agree 100%, I also think Microsoft is beginning to give the team a bit more freedom which is great to see - they can be a bit more creative now and add completely new features.
@@VaguelyGood I don't think Microsoft is very involved with the development of the game. Why would they care if it makes them a lot of money either way?
@@Yegor_Mechanic They care about it.
@@jhacomputer
Why would they?
Mojang give us the fucking end update
Please 😭
I prefer farming update.
@@carinaslimafuck no
@@carinaslimaI like the way you think :)
Why not both a farming + end update?
I feel like the thing holding back Minecraft from going all out is the old code, It just isnt optimized at all to run huge updates. My PC can run fortnte on a 100 frames on medium textures but can barely run minecraft on 20 chunks. REALLY hoping they fix all that
It confuses me why Minecraft takes so much processing power but each update they try and make it more stable so yes let's hope it gets better!
Make sure you’re using your dedicated gpu if you aren’t already, minecraft a lot of the time likes to use integrated if you have it by default, you can check in the f3 menu
I think that they been holding out on big updates since what happend to 1.17
my laptop runs minecraft on *ERROR* *ERROR ERROR ERROR SHU IFHWEJHSHBDUB DBHEG FUH*
I like how 90% of the video undertale soundtrack plays
Undertale music is so good and Toby Fox is great!!
I still don't get why people think that the Vex redesign _added_ lore implications, when those implications were already there from the Allay's very conception... The definition for the word "Allay" is literally an antonym for "Vex," and the wings looked extremely similar even before the redesign.
yea
I understand your point, but a verbal link which many players would not immediately identify compared to the visual change to be similar highlights their connection a lot more. As well, the names meaning opposite things could be interpreted like a simple good versus evil, whereas the textures now show that the mobs seem to have similar origins - as if they were split from the same original mob some time ago.
@@VaguelyGoodstill didn’t take a sterile redesign to make it good.
It didn't add lore implications, it simply reaffirmed it. Like they super glued the lore with the name and other details, and then changing the vex model was like adding duct tape to thr super glue.
@@aidanvenki8834 they removed the grin though 😭
so are you just going to ignore the copper bulb?
Although a very good point, still holding out hope some changes get made 😔
He said they are starting to listen. Not that every single thing asked of by the community is being worked on.
@@eldinoor7072 yeah but it would still be good to at least mention it
What purpose would it serve? There were plenty of things that were not worked and brought in that fans have been clamouring for, such as vertical slabs and the Jeb Combat Update.
As the man said in his video later on, they might be working on the spaghetti in the game to make something like the bulb's prior 1 tick implementation viable. There was a lot of potential and it would have revolutionized the redstone game for java players.
However, I don't know how it would have worked for Bedrock players. Odds are, it was buggy as hell in the 1-tick state, and completely fine in a 2-tick state. But seeing how many people wanted and loved the 1-tick movable block, they probably are working on fixing code so something like that is viable in a later update.
@@eldinoor7072 bro I am not reading all that
I actually predicted the cherry tree, I'm pretty proud of it. (I don't have video evidence of me saying it though, I pitched the idea to my sibling on a car ride)
I love the cherry trees so much
I was adding the cherry trees to an addon and they announced them a month later of me making that addon
They literally just made it harder to mod bedrock in purpose
It seems really confusing the recent changes
and the head of the marketplace is having a public meeting about that recently, i think theyre actually gonna add it back(?)
Finally, a video that doesn't criticize the devs for something they did before.
The sweep attack on the dog was way too releatable
I always feel so bad 😭
It took them 10 years to add several wolf textures 💀
Along with many other things
They have other things to do y’know
You guys only starting begging for them like 2 years ago, so I don’t see your point
@@ThatGuyRNA its just 8 textures bro

Finally a video that isn't criticizing Mojang 👏
I appreciate your comment!
Mojang has been listening to us for years! The cave update that was highly requested was game changing when it was implemented
The cave update would have been too much to cover but I absolutely agree!
I don't think they ever stopped listening, they always were. Look as far back as 1.12. The yellow wool color FINALLY recieved a much needed update. And 1.13? Trapdoors for other wood types.
The spruce trapdoor is amazing
1.14 revamped villagers (because a lot of people said that they were useless) and 1.17/18 updated the caves (that a lot of player were begging to be updated)
1.14 was the worst update ever
@@BillimanMCjon how was 1.14 bad? We got bamboo, cats, pandas, foxes, campfire, pillagers, the outpost, raids, ravages, village revamps, villager improvements that have revolutionized the game, and TONS of blocks we were missing slabs stairs and walls for.
@@aidanvenki8834 Everything you mentioned is admittedly cool but pandas are useless and dont “Add to the atmosphere” or whatever pathetic excuse people come up with to justify their stupid inclusion. The villager “revamps” completely ruined the late game and incentivised kidnapping and enslaving villagers for cheap enchants. The worst thing about the update was that it completely changed the vibe of the game
With the new textures and the emphasis on life in the world the old minecrafts liminal, soothing atmosphere was killed off in favour of something more sanitised and profitable. I dont even mind the new direction the game has gone in but they really killed something special by doing that
It's probably a phase, Roblox had the very same thing
I hope not, but sadly it's something only time will tell
Roblox has a gore games and that's a cool thing
I hope not, but Roblox also had those phases last very shortly like less than a week and Mojang has it lasting for 3-4 years.
@@mr.cantillasz1912 Minecraft also have gore mod
Mojang is still not listening:
-Lied about not being able to add debug menu to bedrock
-Take years to add the most basic bare minimum features ever
-Not being able to add three mobs despite having entire campaigns and nearly finished models for them and essentially wasted concepts
-Add worthless mobs or mobs that are basically copypaste/rehashes of existing features
-Lied about the reasoning for removing fireflies
-Haven't added a single mob vote loser despite saying "they can return at the right time" despite the fact they lost a bunch of right times including right now
-Have only brought back a single vote loser of either kind over the span of seven years
-Added many features that still are barebones, most of which single-use at best
-Comes up with nonsensical reasons to not add certain functions like dolphin riding (This is the same game where you can bait goats to break horns)
-Parity still being barely close for about eight years
-Still haven't added a literal bag for over three years
-Still haven't added a proper function to the fletching table for over half a decade
-Not being able to add sharks for bullshit reasons
-STILL no end update
-Outright REFUSING to fix UNPLAYABLE bugs on bedrock
-Monetizing things that should be free
-Changing the copper bulb
I agree with some of your points, and I'm hoping you've heard all of my arguments - but I do just want to make it clear I'm not saying mojang is perfect, just that the most recent update seems to suggest quite an improvement for the company.
@@VaguelyGood yeah, they ARE getting better
Wait did you copy my comment
great news we now have a bag
@@benginaldclocker2891 Only took them about four years
Honestly all I really want is an end-like dimension that actually has fantasy biomes
or just update the end to have cool new biomes!
@@VaguelyGood I mean maybe but it's very different from the overworld and nether, sure they both got new biomes overtime but the end feels like it's meant to be that way, I guess they could add biomes to the end but that might ruin the end game feelings of the end, but I'm desperate for new wood variants, espesially green wood since it's the only color we haven't gotten yet
@@CutWatGreen and purple wood.
@@JaydenHolland-wo4fd yeah id argue that crimson is purple enough but if it's not then we also deserve a more blue-like wood since warped is kind of at an inbetween of green and blue
Also forgot to mention white and black, and gray too I guess if we're just going by most known "colors" but honestly we don't need these colors of wood, I just really want a green wood
Though, if you count bamboo, I guess we do have a green wood already, but that doesn't really count in my eyes
they need to upgrade their poor dungeons first lol.
while i agree with this to some level, i still dont think they are actually listening to the community enough to make a difference.
Take the recent bedrock drama for example. Or the copper bulbs.
Just because they are adding cool things doesn't mean they are listening to the community. The same could have been said about 1.13, or 1.14, or literally any update that people didn't hate.
Great video tho!
Very valid points, but I would argue Mojang is becoming a lot better at addressing player concerns (pointing to the example in the video of sprinting over a one block gap bug fix) and it’s not perfect and won’t be for a while, but good steps are being made in the right directions.
They are listening to the community tho, remember how they straight up reverted the new piston sound or how they reverted the fire and blast protection nerfs only a week after they made the changes?
@@lazarpetrovic1671also they actually buffed the fire and blast protection enchants and said that they want to work more on improving those enchants
nah there was never a time when Mojang didn't listen to its community as a matter of fact their community interactions are more prominent more recently than the time Mojang wasn't brought by microsoft
developers listen to their communities way more than you think they do. It’s just that the majority of complaints are often stupid and will actually make the game worse in the long run if they were acted on.
“Until one day, it dies in battle.* The diamond sword : killing dogs? Never heard of such actions.
I hope That they will give the old Domesticated animals some changes as well(cows, sheep, pigs and chicken), to fit more with the modern mobs.
Give them more shape, more colors, more biom variants and new mechanics
Welcome back. It's only been 5 months lol. But I understand, life happens. But seriously tho don't die again
I'll try not to die again, exams have been tough but it's summer where I am now and hopefully more VaguelyGood!
I from the UK by chance
Nice to have some people who agree with me on my Mojang opinion... A lot of people have gotton low expectations for the game due to a FEW mediocre additions, and they no longer focus on the good Minecraft does.
1:37 i love this trasition with the sound and everything its so calm i love it
Oh if I learned something about roblox, whenever this happens they will somehow calculate how to fumble so bad to the point that you don't think that they care about the community. I'm kinda thinking the same here but I feel some hope this. Plz mojang don't fumble like roblox
its nice to see a youtuber that doesnt complain about everything and yell “LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE” in my face every 5 seconds
Mojang has been listening to the community, but even if they don’t always listen at least they love us as a whole.
Oh yeahhhh
End update/Better texture pack/animations/more animals/ more mobs/ furniture/ better foliage/ more paintings, ridable llamas
1:50 THIS GLOW SQUID HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED (srsly tho it is actually pretty useful and has a similar number of uses as the armadillo)
Mojang aren't listening, they haven't been in almost 6 years.
I think they've been getting better, I really do.
@@VaguelyGood They haven't. As an Xbox player Mojang is the most incompetent dev under microsoft, yes I'm including 343 in that statement.

I just discovered this channel, it’s surprising you don’t have more subscribers with this video quality!

Thank you so much, on the way to more subs but gotta throw a few more videos out there haha
Thank you for the support!
There should be an enchant called “friendly fire” making it impossible for you to damage allies directly with weapons
Such a great video. Thanks for not just fueling the fire!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, I thought it’s a good idea to put some positivity out there
@VaguelyGood definitely, keep it up my man.
Also those minecraft sound affects are so good, why didnt i think of that before
i feel like some people don't understand that minecraft isn't a RPG or a progression game. it is about taking your own path. they aways want more bosses, more weapons, more and more and more, always criticyzing mojang for not adding stuff like copper tools, forgeting that the main use for copper, is building. anything that is not related or usefull to them becomes a target of criticism for "not being usefull."
i've been a builder for the last 11 years. even tho i know NOTHING about redstone, when i first saw the crafter i jumped. i knew that would be revolutionary and the redstone community would be so happy. even tho i was not going to use it, seeing how much mojang is listeting to the community and adding those changes is heartwarming.
Can we keep in mind that the end is so incomplete that even parts of the end refuse to generate. No seriously part of the end is literally just void for tens of thousands of blocks because of a silly bug.
Now this guy makes sense
Mojang nerf the wolf armor.
Great video! I do think Mojang is being a little more receptive to the playerbase than usual. I think the Combat+End Update is a much more deserving update than these smaller feature oriented ones. Hopefully they bring back Combat snapshots - an update like this could also potentially bring offhand usage and similar parity changes to bedrock, which, as a former bedrock player, I know is highly requested.
A combat update to bedrock would be super interesting, the system of Java is designed for the mouse so I wonder how they would translate some of that stuff on to controller.
People were thinking the end ubdate would be 1.19-1.21 do yall think 1.22 end update?
nah
My main complainant is that all updates past caves and cliffs (minus copper) feel very disconnected from the rest of the game. It is a combination of new items and mobs only having one or two uses as well as the older systems (such as enchanting/anvil, various biomes, and redstone and alchemy) get little love or refits. I love 1.21 because it added 4 craftable potions! Renewable cobwebs are now a thing which is nice. With this spaghetti code being fixed I desperately hope they add to the older systems. Imagine how much better the sniffer would be received if it's flowers could be used for potions!
So glad you got a proper Microphone, keep up improving! Much better quality!
Videos will just get better and better!
so underrated for such high quality content!
Thank you so much!
I think the end needs a total rework like the nether got with new biomes new mobs and maybe a new type of armor
I kidnapped and trapped 3 armadillos by my house just for the scutes
Need them scutes
extremely underrated channel, editing is so good and satisfying to watch
keep it up man 💪
I feel like we might see a end update very soon.

Thats the neat part, we did.
Fr tho i really want one too! They could give it the same treatment as the neather and they could add some of the end mobs from minecracf dungeons. That would be amazing imo
@@dannyboi1706 i wish they dont make the end feel alive like they did to the nether cuz the point of the end is being empty.

@@moobqufad-ge8et what lol
I can't wait for the next combat snapshot, been waiting on that one for a good while now.
I hope they focus on the mace and getting it super fluid with other weapons
A variant of the mase made with a blaze rod would be dope
Some kind of wither related item instead of the heavy core too, maybe it could even have a fire shockwave instead of the wind burst!
Class video mate! I started my MC channel a couple of weeks ago and loving it!
Glad you're enjoying content creation! I hope to see your channel grow more and more :)
I'm happy that were getting more and more requested features nowadays, though I'm kinda distracted with the whole Bedrock BDP change situation
Sadly this script was written a few months ago with unfortunate timing of being finished and released surrounding the bedrock news, I don't know very much about the situation and don't okay bedrock very much so I can't give an in depth opinion but I hope things get sorted soon and the community can keep being creative.
@@VaguelyGood Ahh, well I appreciate the explanation! Love the video ^^
Aside from this, Im just coping that the next update has something to do with the End 🙏
I still think they aren’t adding enough. Before, you could tell every version had important changes, but watching footage of 1.18 and 1.21 looks identical if you don’t explore niche biomes and structures.
This guy's videos is rlly good! Why the channel have so little subscribers :(
Thank you so much! I've only got 8 full length videos so hopefully after a few more some more subscribers appear haha
Now they should bring some of the fun Bedrock features over to Vanilla like Potions in cauldrons, baby squid, and different sized fish. Also the harder Wither.
If they were to finally add a desert update, a cool new feature would be a potion that turns mobs into husks. It could be the effect husks give instead of hunger too and would overall be popular because you can only turn zombies into drowneds right now
It wouldve been so cool if they added a bosw for completing the trail chambers like after completing all of the trail spawners u can unlock a boss room called the trial golem which is like a copper golem but on steroids
a trial boss would be so cool to see!
I think the mace needs some rebalancing because as it currently stands, it actually does not require that much skill to use. With a simple wind charge blast and the wind burst enchantment a chain can be done. Of course mojang doesn't really care, but this also presents an issue for anarchy servers such as 2b2t, where hacked clients are allowed and, as of recent times, updates to the newest versions are becoming more and more frequent. It will only take so long for client devs to create ways to send fake height packets which will increase the damage of the mace to such a point that nobody will be safe. Of course, a damage cap would ruin it quite a bit, but I think it may have to be done to prevent the mace from becoming the most irritating weapon in the game. Mojang will either have to nerf the mace, or create a proper counter to it that isn't just hiding.
We don't talk about the copper bulb though
🧑🚀🔫🧑🚀 Always have been.
I feel like a lot of people forgot that a lot of the main features in 1.20 were features that the community had wanted for many years.
In a way all features that get added have been wanted at some point because the player base is so huge.
I was impressed by the Trial Chambers and I liked them just cause of the pure chaos when the mobs spawn that occurs. While it doesn't compare to the last few updates (1.13, 1.14, 1.16) it's undeniably a step up from The Mild Update and Trails and Tales
Its great news to communiry HOWEVER,MOB VOTE still has dramatic problem
Nah glow squid is cool, it's a gamechanger for multiplayer since it makes sign way more readable
True about the signs, but I hate just seeing it dying every time I go mining
There was no reason to add an entire mob though, all of their functions should’ve been added to glowstone dust instead.
What’s worse is that you can already make sign text flow with the § key.
@@EmperorPenguin1217I dinno they pretty imo
Mojang... optimization...upd-
I do wish they made the mobs drop items again, though
Mojang didn’t give a single fuck about the mob vote being rigged, cuz of the old glitch where u can vote multiple times, and that’s how armadillo won, I quite like it but I wanted to see the crab.
They need to focus on every bug that has been reported about android phones having enchantment glint bug
Sadly they've got to focus on so many parts of the game at once some seem to get pushed away :(
finally a video that doesnt hate on mojang. I was excited for the Combat Test Snapshot thinking itll drop on 1.21 but it seems like thats not the reality, overall i love your vid and the vibe you give in this video!
Let's hope to a combat 1.22! (And end update 😭)
the copper bulbs though, blatantly ignoring us
Im a bedrock player on mobile devices, since I have gotten used to the og controls, but in the recent updates, the controls have gotten a huge downgrade in playability to what Ive gotten used to using. It might be hard to see to a person who doesnt play it, but it made a big difference and came with many bugs that are forcing me to get a computer. I hope that they can find a way to keep their new designs while also fixing the hitboxes
Sadly I don't play bedrock very much, but I can see why such a significant change would have huge impact - I hope things get sorted soon!
I just hope they eventually go and update some of the Mobs From the Mobvote, Like the sniffer
Absolutely, would be great to see some glow squid improvement lmao
I think they should fix Multiplayer, its difficult trying to play with friends in Bedrock
You cant play in other friends worlds without them playing in it, and you cant even share worlds or have a server without that Realms Membership thing
Bro wdym it’s designed to be easy to use multiplayer
The only thing left is vertical slabs and the end update
Fun fact: You can play football with armadillo in Minecraft
that sounds like it would hurt
Now all we need is the Iceologer back and i can die happy.
Also we need some mobs from dungeons in the base game
more pillager variants please
@@VaguelyGood Yes! Id also like to see the mobs from the echoing void dlc if we get an end update. And id also like to see the whisperer from the jungle awakens dlc. It would make the jungles a little more dangerous.
6:19 I very much believe this to be the case. They saw that 1.19 overpromised and underdelivered, and then decided to change how updates were announced and featured released for 1.20, by only showing a small subset at Minecraft Live... and people got even more upset for some reason. They did the same for 1.21, and people seemed to forget that they were doing the exact same thing they were doing for 1.20. Sometimes I just don't get this community...
For 2:25, I remember the community wasn't exactly happy when they did this to horses back in 1.13, but most seem to have forgotten about that since.
Anyway, good video.
I much prefer the small information given for each update system as when the update was split into multiple parts I was so sad I couldn't get it all at once.
I think the marketplace was a mistake. Now they have removed the ability to make bedrock mods unless it is in the marketplace.
Although I do think the marketplace has its merits, the bedrock change seems so strange.
5:45 Spider Dance music. Noice
If the next version is and end update, it would suit well if a combat update went along side it since that's what happened with the last end update.
yeah, people have been riding mojang too much recently. I think the most recent update is one of the most fun and engaging updates so far, because despite it's small amount of actual diversity in features, there's still good incentive to go to trial chambers, reasons to stick around even after getting the mace (ie combat practice, breeze farming, xp farming, or just collecting copper block varients) and the crafter is a clear sign that they are trying to please the community.
I think the trial chamber is an amazing milestone in that if future structures are a similar level of details it would be so cool
you're underrated
Thank you so much!!
I am surprised that you didn't mention the auto crafter, people wanted that for ages
Yes it's such a requested feature and super cool, but it also seems the player base has forgotten about the block which is super sad
MOJANG!!! ADD FUNCTIONALITY TO THE SNIFFER AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
Unrelated to the topic of the video, but I think it's funny how Undertale's OST has essentially become royalty free music

Mojang definitely fell off a bit after the nether update. I really hope they get everything sorted out tho.
Ok but we also need cat armor if we have wolf armor.

Cool editing style
Where did you find that bedrock texture?
A website called vanilla tweaks it has so many useful things I highly recommend!!
I hope the end update will make the end look like the mc dungeons end, the mc dungeons end looks amazing
I totally 100% Agree with your statement in this video. Mojang has had some bumps on the road for a few years, but 1.21 seems to be a turnaround! But of course, there's still the fact that minecraft HAS had some decent changes over the years too! Let's just hope that this change is permanent. I don't want the roblox situation all over again...
I see a lot of people mentioning the Roblox situation, one I'm not very familiar with but seems like developers doing one good thing and ten terrible - so let's hope mojang keeps on this good streak.
@@VaguelyGood I think most controversy comes from Roblox's moderation and stuff, not really developers (Although yes, sometimes Roblox does do trash at making things and implementing them). If you wanna know, I can tell you about what's up with the moderation.
