This video was excellent and saved me a ton of headaches. Took me about 3 hours start to finish (mostly clay "soil" was a big slowdown) for what someone wanted $350 to do
I've been doing this in my yard over the years but a bit differently with added patio paver around it and some sheeting... Ma'am I can tell you are proud of yourself as you should be 👍 and good idea with the make your own coupler! I never thought of that (cutting off a small section to use instead of buying it lol) so I even learned something here. What brought me here is im trying to see if anyone has buried the stealth flow pipe (it's flat instead of round) anyways by doing it yourself you'll save a small fortune so keep it up
Great job! All of the pop ups I have used have an opening in the back of the elbow to relieve pressure and for drainage as I'm sure yours does as well. The top of the pop up usually comes off for people that are concerned with leaves and debris.
Thanks for the video. You have the basics down. Two important details that have been neglected. 1. You need to use tile tape around all of your joints. This will keep roots of bushes and trees from infiltrating your pipe. 2. You need a Y adapter where your gutter meets the pipe. This will allow the water from those downpours to drain better and will act as a clean out of the pipe should ever become clogged.
Hey! So when there is a ton of rain it pops out the top. Then the rest just evaporates over time in the heat ect. While it sits Inside that 10foot corrigated pipe. I've had them done like this for a few years and I've never had any issues, actually just buried my final 3 last month in the back when I did my "last" 🤣 landscaping! I learned from someone at menards how to do it, some neighbors who paid a landscaping company to do theirs looks just like mine! But obviously paid way more than my diy😊
This past winter we had a lot of melting during the day and freezing at night after 28 inches of snow in the month of January, we never had a problem. (possibly because I used 10 feet of the black pipe)

Thanks for the video. Super helpful!
Good video! But when i did it, I tested it and a lot of water collected at the elbow.. did that happen with you?

How about drilling some holes in the bottom of the pop up to allow sitting water to drain, protects against freezing?
Instead of the pop up emitter, switch to a t fitting. Dig 2 foot hole and fill with gravel. Finally top with a 4 grate
@@Dinovece1 that’s a really good suggestion!
Have you had issues with leaves coming from the gutters getting clogged in the pipe ?
I have not. We live in a new build and there are no trees. They have leaf guards to go at the top of your gutter though, 😊
The problem with that"Pop up emitter" is when a mower goes over the top of it the suction will pull the of it up into the blades of the mower.
Never had this happen it's been a couple years...
@@shawnamichener4321 Awesome! I installed one a few Month's back and the first time my riding mower went over it it was toast.
I don't have a rider... Maybe it creates more suction because it's a bigger blade?!
What about a leaf cleanout? Also, how do you keep dirt and sediment from clogging the holes in your corrugated pipe?
We live in a new build. There are literally no trees.
Excellent video women
Did you just choose 10 feet or is that standard?
So sorry! I got 10ft. Because it was the standard size at menards
My kinda woman!
What about when it freezes?

Got 3 min into it can't watch a video without full screen
