+Michael Lynch They are all depreciating assets, ive learned to just rent one when i need one for the day, there are so many people that are willing to share their ride for the day for very little
+Michael Lynch agreed. i worked in the automotive industry for 18 years and we always had a saying.......you take care of your vehicle and your vehicle will take care of you
+storxusmc : True, true. I don't know many guys willing to share their trucks though. Hell, I wouldn't let you use any of my trucks. The liability of you driving it if something goes wrong isn't worth it. I don't even let my girlfriend drive it, unless it's a dire emergency.
+Michael Lynch : Good in theory, but there's a lot of trash being produced and sold nowadays. I wouldn't take a Ford truck with a diesel if you gave it to me. (Well, ok... if you GAVE it to me, I might... but then I'd sell it and buy an older Cummins truck.) I've seen a LOT of late model Ford diesels that have burned up engine compartments (FROM FIRES!!!) just sitting/rotting in the dealer wholesale auction lots. Something to be said about that. I'd recommend staying far, far away from them!
The question really is how nice do you have to treat it. Ford eccoboost engines will gunk up so bad there will need to be plenty of nice treatments expensive ones. grinding carbon packed valves and the like. Where as other engines will last without nary a nice treatment. High hp per liter of displacement means a lot more niceness is needed for peak operation. Which is why a 400 hp naturally aspirated engine will make the Ecco boost engine look like a pos. to all but the uninformed.
Bill, I have watched almost all your vids on here and I love them! So much valuable information on each one. I live in Florida and I own an 05 6.0. I lifted it 8" and run 37" mud grapplers on her. I get compliments everywhere I go. I love my truck and thanks to your vids, I have some decent knowledge on how to keep her going for years to come! If I should ever need any major services, I'll be heading your way! Thanks again so very much for putting all your awesome knowledge on here to share with us diesel lovers!
I own a 1997 7.3L PSD with 350,000 miles on it. I have never had to replace a single part on that truck besides an $80 throttle sensor. Original transmission and injectors, still drives as smooth as it did on day 1. Bottom line is, take care of your truck, and your truck will take care of you! And don't be selfish and buy a brand new truck either if you can't afford one. Not having a car payment is the best feeling in the world!

bill, keep the videos coming. unfortunately most guys that are giving you grief don't understand the meaning of your experience with these trucks. I'm not sure half of them even have a drivers license because they are 14 years old. the guys that value your option and appreciate that you share your knowledge with us understood your last video. thanks again , Cody
I agree, Cody. I totally got what Bill was talking about on that previous video. Looks like a bad case of cranius rectitus for a lot of these folks that flamed him and they weren't paying attention.
Bill I was in the market and trying to decide on a ford diesel.. When I saw your last video that was my answers you answered all my questions.. So I ended buying 05 F-250 6.0 with 182,500 miles sweet looking truck ... Best thing was the price 10,500 you saved me a fortune .. From having to spend thousands of dollars more ... Took the truck to my diesel mechanic and he checked the truck he did his master check look over and gave a report back with a B+ for the age and miles he said it was in great shape... I'm very happy with the truck.. Thanks for sharing your experience and video with us ... Now I'm learning from your videos and following your recommendation.. Thank you !!!
Bill I love your videos. Its nice and refreshing to find a channel where the person is obviously a straight shooter, and clearly knows what he is talking about. I've never owned a diesel, but the technology has always fascinated me. Keep them coming!! And go Bulldogs!
Well said. Im a Tundra owner but I love Bills videos. A straight shooter in the auto industry nowadays is a tough find. Thanks for all the videos Bill!
Bill, You're videos are great keep them coming. I ordered the arch oil kit for my 08' 6.4. 3 tanks of fuel and I'm now getting 17.5 Gpm was getting about 15.5 to 16.0 Gpm . Dpf delete straight pipe and mild tune with egr delete. Videos very informative.
Just watched "The Best Truck to Buy" and thought is was excellent. Just stumbled across it - not a Ford diesel fan. You DID mention it was exclusively about Fords and it was well done. It's great to listen to someone who actually has real world experience, does not slather on a bunch of bull. Great videos - all two that I've watched so far! And they're two years old!
I totally agree Bill. I have an 04 F350 6.0. The truck did have head gaskets replaced years ago but did not get studded. I was fairly upset because I wanted to get a chip for it, but if I did, I'd be worried about the head gaskets going out, but I still love the truck a lot and like you said. It does what I need it to and thats all that matters, getting me to point a to point b and pulling anything I need it. Love your videos and it wasn't for this channel or your website. I wouldn't know much about powerstrokes or how to fix them. So thanks a lot! Please keep it up!
Couldn't agree with you more Bill. I have a 1995 Ranger and a 2007 F150. No, neither of them are diesels. Both need a little TLC. However, both are paid for and do exactly what I need them to do. What you said it perfect. The best truck is the one that's paid for.
I have never owned a powerstroke, always had cummins. Never really liked them, in fact, I detested them. Then I found Bill's videos. All I can say is WOW!!! He made me want one over night. Very knowledgeable man. You can tell he is not full of b.s., he really knows his stuff. My next truck will more than likely be a powerstroke. Keep up the good work.
brad dayberry i just bought one got one helluva deal only 147,000 miles on it 1999 f250 extended cab long bed gave 700,00 for it need an exhaust and tires just put 2bateries in fires everytime
Another great honest video! I recommend people to watch your videos all the time. I have a 2000 f250 GAS and as much as I want a powerstroke my truck is paid for and hauls everything I need it to doesn't mean its the best truck but it is a dam good truck for me and what I need it to do.
Bill keep the videos coming, most of the guys that complain are 14 year olds and poor people that can't actually afford one. Great job love the videos!
For me it is definitely a 6.0. Mine has 390,000 miles. It over heated twice before I owned it and that owner had FORD restore it to factory set up -- I studded, deleted it and put an SCT canned tune on it. It does great. I don't tow anything with it, just a daily driver. I am wondering if I should do anything else to it. I already run Shell T6 oil per the recommendation on these videos... thanks.
don't listen to all the negativity bill you're doing great ! I love the videos very informative keep them coming! I have a 97 f500 with a 7.3 runs great. I own both gas and diesel trucks each one has its pros and cons. If you use the truck as it was intended and built to be used ,and you take good care of it you won't be sorry or disappointed. people don't seem to understand that diesels are intended to haul heavy loads over long distances and get good fuel economy . now that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be enjoyable to drive. but if you've got to put thousands of dollars into your truck so that you can take it to the drag strip on the weekend and try to beat the guy that has the LS motor under his hood, you probably should have bought a gas job to begin with.
my first and only pickup is a 1999 f250 7.3 powerstroke zf6 2wd regular cab base model(no power options). I bought it at 18 for 6500$ with 112k on the clock. paint was rough and I've done some body damage. nothing that wont be fixed shortly. pulled the bed lasrt fall the cab this summer. 4x4 swap is a must!!!!!!! meanwhile ive been on 33 inch fire stone lt tires:/... on painted grey steel wheels level blocks and the CHOPPED MUFFLER. calling card of the young diesel owner!
'01 Ranger. Sizable dent on passenger side cargo box. Leaks a quart of oil and a half-pint of power steering fluid every month. Stick shift. AM/FM radio, no CD or tape. Roll-down windows. Bought it a month after 9/11. (Unbelievably, my '87 Caprice got totaled on 9/12/01. Not a good week. I drove a rental until I bought the truck.) Am I the only one who remembers being freaked-out at seeing an airliner? Nobody was allowed to fly for a week or so. When I finally saw a plane descending towards the airport, it was like staring down the barrel of a gun.
I drive a Ranger and I'm going to buy a OBS F-250 Powerstroke crew cab to restore top to bottom and use for my hauling needs. I always loved the look of those trucks. Thanks for the info Bill!! great videos.
I've got a friend who works on Diesels for a living on the North Slope of Alaska, he said don't go near a 6.0 or 6.4 or 6.7 Ford, Statistically they break at about 150,000 and when they do its usually a $15,000 dollar bill. Dodges have great engines but the Automatic trannys leave little to be desired. He''s right, if you bought it take care of it and hopefully things won't break. Stay away from all the mods and tunes and big tires because if you didn't upgrade numerous other parts your just asking for trouble. Good luck to you all, my 1995 12 5.9 cummins 5 speed runs and drives perfect. No complaints !
My 04 F250 gasser 5.4 has 250,000 miles and runs absolutely perfect. Other than front end issues (idler arms, gear box, pitman arm, ball joints) which are all expected over time, I have zero issues out of it
+7.3 IDI Diesel You could say I'm the IDI king... I have a truck similar to your's, the only difference is it's a 1991 and an F-350. But mine's also a crew cab long bed, what's your's? I also have a 1990 reg. cab F-350 7.3L IDI C6 box truck, and a 1983 super cab long bed F-250 6.9L IDI C6... Also a 1967 F-100 4x4, 390 FE and NP-435. I think it's safe to say I LOVE Ford trucks...
last video you were talking about the chassis in the 05-07 with the coil over suspension and brakes and etc and then you were talking about the reliability of a 7.3 so what do you think about a 7.3 in an 05 chassis? with the help of my father i swapped a 7.3 into my 05 f-250
Got an 02 5.3 sierra with 194k and it has never failed me. I wouldn't be afraid to get in it and drive 300 miles without popping the hood and checking fluids and whatnot. Why is it like that? Because I take good care of it. I always hit the oil changes on time, keep every single fluid in good condition, and another thing is I never let it go under a quarter tank of gas because the fuel pump will run hot and eventually will go out. It isn't what truck it is, it's whose truck it is.
I like listening to you and I remember back in 2016 when I was looking for a new truck you spoke highly of the 6.7 , I use the arc oil from the first day I bought the truck and I also use Amsoil and I have a Amsoil bypassed oil filter system in this truck and I believe taking good care of my truck so anyways I just thought I’d put that out there
I have owned a 2010 superduty F350 4x4 with a 6.4 since 2009 after I special ordered it. I gotta say I LOVE MY TRUCK... It has 118000 kms (about 72000 miles on it & it has worked hard every winter plowing since brand new. I've even successfully pulled fully loaded semi's stuck in deep snow with my baby. My bones of contention; I have had to replace all the rotors & pads & the calipers as well as the entire front end (ball joints stabilizer bars, tie rods, u joints & locking hubs as well as the egr valve, 2 idler pulleys 1 belt tensioner & the serpentine belt. Also the seat controls are a piss poor plastic set up if I have ever seen one & the rear left door is ajar sensor is enough to piss off a good natured minister. There is one thing I can say though, At least the bastard has never left me on the side of the highway.
Thank you for all of the information you share in these videos. I am pretty good at buying used vehicles, but I learned a few tips about diesels and trucks in general from you. If I ever need work done to mine I will come to you. Thanks again.
Well said. Hell, the '03 Ranger 4x4 in my garage thats long since paid for and only about 68k miles on it serves us just fine for what we need....haha. No payments make any truck that runs and drives fine the best.
+klc317 my 2000 had 400k on in when she lost an injector and burnt a valve on 14. im now rebuilding the 3,0l in the a 3.5l and going to have some fun with it lol. hopefully for another 400k or more.
Love the videos came here for a few tips on the 7.3 powerstroke, now it runs stronger than ever sounds better than ever and has a lot of power now, it does need a ats tranny soon. Pulling a 30ft goose neck on a e40d isn't the best when it's got 150k on it.
My work truck is a f450 6.4. It’s completely stock and is not maintained at all. The factory 6.4 lasted 188,000 and dropped a valve. With about 9500 hours. But it ran perfect till that day. They put a complete motor in it and I can’t even tell. The 188,000 motor sounds the same and was just as strong as this new motor.
lol, I had a 99 camry with 421K miles on it. That thing ran without any issues, all original, now I know its not a truck, but someone told me cars up to the year 2000 are the best ones to get, also had a F350 7.3 Powerstroke, runs perfectly fine, and yes, the most important thing for your car is the maintenance, what ever car you have, take care of it.
Well said brother I've got a duramax, but your a smart guy. I like watching your videos even though I really have no interest in fords but I like to learn about them more if I can't. Great videos bud
Found a 6.4 with 248k miles. Lariat package 4x4 and a clean truck in general. The guy is asking about $10500. He said he just replaced the water pump and put in all new coolant, both fuel filters replaced and the fuel water separator bowl took apart cleaned, and reinstalled. Should I buy it?
I know nothing about trucks, nothing. But I'd like to get a used one and put a plow on it for my driveway. What should I avoid in buying a used truck that I want to install a new plow onto? Thanks for your help!
hi,australia here,just bought a 4.2 tdi brazil/international f250,2001, scary,no parts outlets,but they seem reliable as the sun,i cant even find any vids except in spanish?.,originaly the motor was a german tractor engine,thats good i think,vastly underpowered,very small turbo,4g red line,but blogs here from people say they love them,no probs,.mate got me to buy a diesel,toyota,no thanks,so i got this,diesels arnt cheap,maintenance,repairs,10lt per 100ks,who cares about that if it stops,,i still got my 82 bronco,351c with 302 heads,stock basicaly,had it 12yrs,no issues,except for dying coils,& previous owners lack of mech knowledge.its lpg only,cheap to run,goes like a cut cat,pulls toyotas out of bogs,lsd front rear helps,jacked up 5.5",love it,& its payed for.its like owning a harley with a diesel,you need a second vehicle in case.only good thing about a diesel,diesel is more available out bush,like 1200ks from a town.we need a fuel tank range of at least 1000ks here without a fuel stop,my 4.2 has 135lt tank,should do i think.!.great vids /info,should be more like it,.anyone with a link to 4.2 parts,tubs 2006at bigpond dotcom.thanks.
Howdy I need some help her and i don't know what to do, I have a 2001 ford 7.3 powerstroke and recently i noticed my oil pan is dimpling pretty bad is there any way to replace that oil pan without pulling the engine?
I saw a video on RUclips a while back where the fella unbolted his cab, jacked it up and was able to remove his oil pan without pulling engine. You'll have to watch to see if you're interested in that approach!!
The best powerstroke to own is hands down a 6.0 You can delete the egr cooler (sneaky delete) and still pass smog. Easier to work on than a 6.4 or 6.7 and they aren’t as archaic as a 7.3 plus you can make more power for cheaper than on a 7.3
My dad had a 6.0 black king ranch he bought new in 2006, the truck had a load of problems ended up spending 12k in a year on repairs.. But man was it a beautiful truck
Nice video series Bill. I totally agree with you. I've got a '04 6.0 with 38K original highway miles and still runs like new. But, I've got a 6.9 that needs help. What all do you know about them? Its a Motorcraft reman with many problems.
There is no brand of truck that is better than the other in my opinion, every truck brand has its problems, it all boils down to how you treat them, take care of it and it will take care of you.
+RUSSIA85901 That all depends on what you intend to tow with it. If it's less then 10,000 lbs. then an F-150 would be fine. But if you want a diesel then an F-250 would be perfect. Now me I'm an "F-350 and up kind of guy" as I like to say... The bigger the better. But I do tow heavy trailers, so that's partly why...
i love your videos they have helped me a lot i love my 05 f350 6.0 i use diesel kleen in my fuel every fill up im coming up on 85k miles its had the erp head studs seals and a whole long other list that the guy before me had done to it i think all i need is the egr cooler and oil cooler since i have owned it i have only needed a new turbo and transmission other than that love it but i am curious as to what tuner i can use for a simple tow tune once i get it paid off and get my trailer and what is the tow rating for bumper and fifth wheel cant find the answer anywhere and dont want to get a trailer that is way to heavy and causes problems.
(I live in the Caribbean) I know is not the theme, but this question is in my head. I own a 1999 Ford F-350 stock What's better Banks Automind or Ford F350 7.3L TS Performance chip for best performance?
got a 99 434 000 1 rebuild on the tranny and engine just to make me feel safe and the person before me had mega tuning on it so id didint want it to come bite me in the ass. do you have a auto or manual
As much as I'd like to own a 3/4 ton diesel pick-up 4x4, my Colorado is all I need. Best truck for me to own. Be good to your truck and it'll be good to you.
You said "If the Dodge transmissions are so good then why are those transmission shops making so much money?" Well if Powerstrokes are so good then why are you making money?
ok after having a few trucks I will say this ...the best truck to own is the one you can afford to fix!!! if you're on a budget ....stay away from diesels , unless you're ready to dump 3k for injectors or ...3-5 thousand for turbos , or even a better one 10-15 thousand for an engine stay away from diesels !!!! I know they're cool , strong but if you don't NEED the diesel engine stay away ...these suckers are expensive ! thx for the videos mister Bill!!!!
Dad got a 2010 V10 F250 earlier this year, great truck, does it's job just fine. We wouldn't buy a 6.4, we knew someone who had two, both were garbage from the factory, friend has one, it's got weird issues too. I personally would go bulletproof 6.0 if I was going used, or new 6.7.
thinking of getting a 6.0 would be my daily driver. I don't tow yet possibly will get another jeep to haul to the trails next year. I drive 20 min one way for work. I have always wanted a hot rod diesel.
love your channel. can anybody give me a opinion on a 2013 f250 crew cab 6.2 gasser? I don't want a diesel, i like the crew cab ecoboost 4x4 but the payload on those ive seen are only 1500 # , I have a company truck so my personal vehicle sits alot and maybe gets drove 3 days out of the week on just around 30 miles maybe. I heard this is hard on a diesel is why I'm looking at a 6.2 hopefully with a 4.30 rear end. does anyone out there have experience with one ? I have a 8000# camper I'd tow maybe 5 times a year.
the 6.2 would do you fine. it has pretty good power and 8000 lbs is well within its limits. of course your fuel milage ma be worse than a diesel especially if you go up and down mountains. the engine obviously dosent make as much power but it makes enough so you dont feel underpowered imo. i have heard of the 6.2 gear hunting when going up and down hills so if you plan to do that prepare to just shove the thing in manual mode and hold the gear your self. for the most part its a great motor that should last a long time
I have a 2013 f350 6.2 4.30gears and tow a 41foot 5th wheel and it pulls better than the 7.3. Only difference is the 6.2 gets 9 mpg and the 7.3 got 12.5 towing 15k. Both have aftermarket mufflers and intakes but no programming.
After watching your videos for the last couple years I saw that answer coming. The best truck is the one that does the job and is paid for. Ive got to agree with you, my daily driver is a Chevy S10 with a 2.2/5spd gas burner. Its paid off, and it handles everything I need it to do right now
f350 dually, 6.0L bought with 82,000 miles on it.. now 86,200 miles. My first diesel truck. drove from Seattle to atlanta. I love it
T. WILL plans on head studs ext.
T. WILL I know this is an old comment, but I’m glad to hear you like it man
Thinking about making the switch to dually diesel myself, glad to hear the switch is well worth it.
Bottom line is
Treat your truck nice, and it will treat you nice. Doesn't matter the engine, brand, or mods.

just bought my dad's 7.3 and I love it thanks for sharing these videos fun to watch!

I totally agree Bill. I have an 04 F350 6.0. The truck did have head gaskets replaced years ago but did not get studded. Very knowledgeable man. You can tell he is not full of b.s., he really knows his stuff. My next truck will more than likely be a powerstroke. Keep up the good work.
My truck would be a 1999 f350, 7.3 extended cab, long bed.
brad dayberry i just bought one got one helluva deal only 147,000 miles on it 1999 f250 extended cab long bed gave 700,00 for it need an exhaust and tires just put 2bateries in fires everytime
That's my truck!
Great video Bill. I'll keep my 2013 F-150 5.0 with 194K on it. Only been towed one time for a fuel pump fuse. Otherwise normal maintenance.
This is quite possibly the best non-biased advice for truck owners one the web.
Another great honest video! I recommend people to watch your videos all the time. I have a 2000 f250 GAS and as much as I want a powerstroke my truck is paid for and hauls everything I need it to doesn't mean its the best truck but it is a dam good truck for me and what I need it to do.
Bill is awesome, we appreciate your time you spend answering questions before we even have to ask.
Bill keep the videos coming, most of the guys that complain are 14 year olds and poor people that can't actually afford one. Great job love the videos!
thanks for the info bill I own a 2000 crew cab 4x4 7.3 with 270000 miles runs like she was new once again thanks
7.3 powerstroke 2003 is the number 1 truck
Good answer bill. I'm a G.M. man myself, But if you care for your truck properly it will last for year's. Enjoy you'r video's keep up the good work.
Found your channel, just bought my first 7.3. Thank you for the vids.
If you use the truck as it was intended and built to be used ,and you take good care of it you won't be sorry or disappointed. people don't seem to understand that diesels are intended to haul heavy loads over long distances and get good fuel economy . now that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be enjoyable to drive. but if you've got to put thousands of dollars into your truck so that you can take it to the drag strip on the weekend and try to beat the guy that has the LS motor under his hood, you probably should have bought a gas job to begin with.
tparent71 ya notice he does alot of videos they subsidize and youtube pays good money for when he doesnt have any work in the shop
my first and only pickup is a 1999 f250 7.3 powerstroke zf6 2wd regular cab base model(no power options).
I drove a rental until I bought the truck.)
Am I the only one who remembers being freaked-out at seeing an airliner?
Other than front end issues (idler arms, gear box, pitman arm, ball joints) which are all expected over time, I have zero issues out of it
For me the best truck is my 1990 f250 7.3 idi zf 5 speed 4x4.
+7.3 IDI Diesel I have a 1994 F-350 crew cab dually 7.3 IDI E4OD 4x2 truck myself with 229k.
+Clint Osowski Mine is a 1990 with a newer front clip. F250 4x4 extended cad long bed.
+Rosston Loktar (Loktar557) Are going with an auto or manual? I would go with manual.
I should have done the zf5 swap instead of spending $1800 for new torque converter and solenoid pack.
Best answer I’ve ever heard about the best truck for you, by far!
I appreciate the honesty my friend. Great videos. Keep em coming!!!
last video you were talking about the chassis in the 05-07 with the coil over suspension and brakes and etc and then you were talking about the reliability of a 7.3 so what do you think about a 7.3 in an 05 chassis? with the help of my father i swapped a 7.3 into my 05 f-250
Hey Man, just want to say. Thanks a lot for your videos. Really helped me out.
There is one thing I can say though, At least the bastard has never left me on the side of the highway.
i would still be scared of it
Thank you for all of the information you share in these videos. I am pretty good at buying used vehicles, but I learned a few tips about diesels and trucks in general from you. If I ever need work done to mine I will come to you. Thanks again.
Hey bill can you do a video on EGT's? I know 1300f is max sustained but what is ok sustained 800,900???
It probably differs alittle between engines but a cummins can sustain 1300f all day long. 800 or 900 won't hurt any engine a bit.
no way y
@no way. Here is one Bill did about EGTs for the 6 liter. ruclips.net/video/ZcKzC0Pg8_U/видео.html
Well said. Hell, the '03 Ranger 4x4 in my garage thats long since paid for and only about 68k miles on it serves us just fine for what we need....haha. No payments make any truck that runs and drives fine the best.
Love rangers! That thing with low miles will be worth a bit in the near future,
+klc317 my 2000 had 400k on in when she lost an injector and burnt a valve on 14. im now rebuilding the 3,0l in the a 3.5l and going to have some fun with it lol. hopefully for another 400k or more.
Well....I just bought a used Ford Ranger. I am glad I found your channel.
lol, I had a 99 camry with 421K miles on it.
Your other video was great, thanks; no apology needed. Screw the trolls.
Well said brother
I've got a duramax, but your a smart guy. I like watching your videos even though I really have no interest in fords but I like to learn about them more if I can't.
Great videos bud
Keep up the good work, I love watching your videos
Found a 6.4 with 248k miles. Lariat package 4x4 and a clean truck in general. The guy is asking about $10500. He said he just replaced the water pump and put in all new coolant, both fuel filters replaced and the fuel water separator bowl took apart cleaned, and reinstalled. Should I buy it?
even though I own a 1st gen cummins. I still love watching these videos. and learn cool stuff. keep the great vids
Off the subject whats your opinion of the TS 6 Position switch for the 7.3 Powerstroke? I just bought a 1999 7.3 f250
I know nothing about trucks, nothing. But I'd like to get a used one and put a plow on it for my driveway. What should I avoid in buying a used truck that I want to install a new plow onto? Thanks for your help!
my 99 f250 is a better truck today than it was yesterday thanks to you and your expert advice
I don't know if I should get a 6.0 and bulletproof it or a 6.4 and just do the basic upgrades.
I bulletproofed my 08 6.4 and couldn't be happier, great truck with 130k on it and no problems.
So on your part, you would recommend a 6.4? I'm just traumatized from what I keep hearing on the Internet
hi,australia here,just bought a 4.2 tdi brazil/international f250,2001, scary,no parts outlets,but they seem reliable as the sun,i cant even find any vids except in spanish?.,originaly the motor was a german tractor engine,thats good i think,vastly underpowered,very small turbo,4g red line,but blogs here from people say they love them,no probs,.mate got me to buy a diesel,toyota,no thanks,so i got this,diesels arnt cheap,maintenance,repairs,10lt per 100ks,who cares about that if it stops,,i still got my 82 bronco,351c with 302 heads,stock basicaly,had it 12yrs,no issues,except for dying coils,& previous owners lack of mech knowledge.its lpg only,cheap to run,goes like a cut cat,pulls toyotas out of bogs,lsd front rear helps,jacked up 5.5",love it,& its payed for.its like owning a harley with a diesel,you need a second vehicle in case.only good thing about a diesel,diesel is more available out bush,like 1200ks from a town.we need a fuel tank range of at least 1000ks here without a fuel stop,my 4.2 has 135lt tank,should do i think.!.great vids /info,should be more like it,.anyone with a link to 4.2 parts,tubs 2006at bigpond dotcom.thanks.
Howdy I need some help her and i don't know what to do, I have a 2001 ford 7.3 powerstroke and recently i noticed my oil pan is dimpling pretty bad is there any way to replace that oil pan without pulling the engine?
24 Volts DC not possible unless you cut the cross member and re weld it
I saw a video on RUclips a while back where the fella unbolted his cab, jacked it up and was able to remove his oil pan without pulling engine. You'll have to watch to see if you're interested in that approach!!
The best powerstroke to own is hands down a 6.0
You can delete the egr cooler (sneaky delete) and still pass smog.
Easier to work on than a 6.4 or 6.7 and they aren’t as archaic as a 7.3 plus you can make more power for cheaper than on a 7.3
love my 7.3.over 500.000 km not a thing wrong with it.
My 08 f150 lariat sputters on certain rpms, just wondering what can i do you stop it and what’s happening to it???
I guess your comment about the guys that make a living working on dodge transmissions applies to you and powerstrokes. Keep up the good work!
charles villeneuve another dodge guy got his feelings hurt
There is no brand of truck that is better than the other in my opinion, every truck brand has its problems, it all boils down to how you treat them, take care of it and it will take care of you.
This may sound stupid but what's better f250 or f350 does it make a difference at all (not the dully) for everyday driver or some tow here and there
+RUSSIA85901 That all depends on what you intend to tow with it. If it's less then 10,000 lbs. then an F-150 would be fine. But if you want a diesel then an F-250 would be perfect. Now me I'm an "F-350 and up kind of guy" as I like to say... The bigger the better. But I do tow heavy trailers, so that's partly why...
+RUSSIA85901 350 will ride lil rougher due to suspension. Everyday driver i would go with 250
1975 Ford F100 Farmtruck......been the best ive ever owned and still own.......
My truck I would want to own is a 2007 Ford F-350 6.0 outlaw
Truth teller. Great. I love the Tundra 1/2 T truck.
i love your videos they have helped me a lot i love my 05 f350 6.0 i use diesel kleen in my fuel every fill up im coming up on 85k miles its had the erp head studs seals and a whole long other list that the guy before me had done to it i think all i need is the egr cooler and oil cooler since i have owned it i have only needed a new turbo and transmission other than that love it but i am curious as to what tuner i can use for a simple tow tune once i get it paid off and get my trailer and what is the tow rating for bumper and fifth wheel cant find the answer anywhere and dont want to get a trailer that is way to heavy and causes problems.
I like the joke about the oil change. If I was closer I might even take you up on it.
I don't own Fords any more, but I love your videos.
(I live in the Caribbean)
I know is not the theme, but this question is in my head.
I own a 1999 Ford F-350 stock
What's better Banks Automind or Ford F350 7.3L TS Performance chip for best performance?
get the ts
+Jose Newvillage TS all day long
now someone tell me the best is DP chip
"DP-TUNER F5 CHIP"
I got a 2000 7.3 with 380,000 miles all original engine/tran, just normal service every 35,000 Miles for me.
+Santiago Perez Now There's a way to save money on maintenance, Service every 35K Miles...LOL
Yeah to me that means turbo, injecters etc, oil changes every 5,000.
got a 99 434 000 1 rebuild on the tranny and engine just to make me feel safe and the person before me had mega tuning on it so id didint want it to come bite me in the ass. do you have a auto or manual
Same here,my 2000 7.3 has close to 800,000 on original motor.New injectors at 370,000 miles,trans at 300,000.
Thank You 😊 Bill and I Really Like All Your RUclips Videos Sir 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
How reliable are the transmission with the 6.0 thanks bill
can you give any tips for maintaining a ecoboost on a f150 for lots of miles?
probably depends what your needs are. this guy specifically works on powerstrokes. that should tell you something.
Do you have any videos for the 6.2l gas? Thanks😎🤙
Jeremy T 1982
Haha I’m a powerstroke owner and love my truck but you make a good point. Lol
He drives one doesnt he nothing else so i guess he would know
Dodge and chevy guys always get so uptight
The Allison transmissions on the DURAMAX is bulletproof.
ok after having a few trucks I will say this ...the best truck to own is the one you can afford to fix!!! if you're on a budget ....stay away from diesels , unless you're ready to dump 3k for injectors or ...3-5 thousand for turbos , or even a better one 10-15 thousand for an engine stay away from diesels !!!! I know they're cool , strong but if you don't NEED the diesel engine stay away ...these suckers are expensive ! thx for the videos mister Bill!!!!
For me it's a 7.3 f-250 power stroke 95 model 5 speed
I live in PA ,and looking for my 1st diesel truck. For sure when that happen Im going to take a vacation to your shop and make my truck bullet proof
You should put the 6.4 Master series on your website
Do you work on the gas Super Duty's or just the Powerstrokes only?
+Tommy TwoGun Hes an only diesel guy
Dad got a 2010 V10 F250 earlier this year, great truck, does it's job just fine. We wouldn't buy a 6.4, we knew someone who had two, both were garbage from the factory, friend has one, it's got weird issues too. I personally would go bulletproof 6.0 if I was going used, or new 6.7.
Not a Ford guy but this is perfect advice..
thank you I follow everything you saying I have 2005 Ford f 350. 6.0
thinking of getting a 6.0 would be my daily driver. I don't tow yet possibly will get another jeep to haul to the trails next year. I drive 20 min one way for work. I have always wanted a hot rod diesel.
Tommy w then buy a gas vehicle if you want a hot rod on a budget. These trucks aren't cheap to fix.
my little gmc sonoma works great but it's a single cab and i'm 6'2". i sure could use something with a bigger cab.
Hi! I'm a new owner of a 6.4 PowerStroke has 47,000. is a DPF delete recommended?
trade in is recommended
Yes. Do it. DPF absolutely destroys turbos and creates a ton of back pressure. Buy a straight pipe and retune it with Spartan.
love your channel. can anybody give me a opinion on a 2013 f250 crew cab 6.2 gasser?
Its paid off, and it handles everything I need it to do right now
Thank you Sir, for all the information.
