@Curtis Brown Technically, that title would not fit in regards to Jack and Hailey since their last name is Damon, but I get where you were coming from with your idea. If the show were to ever be revived in the future or go into a sequel spinoff (kinda of like how Legend of Korra was the sequel spinoff from Avatar: The Last Airbender taking place many years later and several characters from the original reappearing much older), I would want it to be focused on either all 7 of the grandkids or none of them because it wouldn't be fair if any of them got left out.
Everyone's talking about the casting (which is amazing!) but the mood and dialogue in this scene was just so perfect too! Deja talking about how journeys go so fast, Randall referencing the growth of his own family tree, and the poetry of that whole idea... Randall was so excited to have children because he wanted blood relations when he was younger, but for it to be his adopted daughter, Deja, who gives him his first grandchild and extends those branches of his tree, it was just perfect!
Same. It's interesting that Deja and Annie seem to have developed a very close bond with one another because she seems to have confided in Annie first about her pregnancy before anyone else, so hopefully we'll see more bonding between the three girls. I love them. ❤️
I can see Annie gravitating to Deja because Tess believe she’s in her own world. She has so much attitude lol and it probably cause her to separate from her sisters. Not completely... just enough for Deja and Annie to share special moments together before they let Tess in.

Props to the older actress as Deja, she had her mannerisms down perfectly. Also the casting for Tess and Annie are superb. The transition between the kids and adults is very believable.

She remind me of her aunt Zoe. Zoe dress like that and she was a traveler. And we can also note that she was a dancer in her moms class...so it’s possible she dances in the future.

I think Jack tried to be impartial but most fathers favor their daughter and Kate was always clinging to him so no surprise that’s what Kevin saw and Rebecca definitely favored Randall. If someone needs the biggest award in this show it's definitely the person who did the casting. DEJA, TESS, KEVIN... young or old they all look alike :O

I was trying so hard to figure how how they fit in. so when I saw the medical student that looked like Deja. I was like "is that Deja?" Even after she got in the car with the younger woman. I thought "maybe that's Annie?" But I figured I might be wrong.
I guessed the same thing. For a split second, I had thought that the med student was Annie because of how the flashbacks in the episode were focusing on Randall and Beth’s journey to bringing Annie home after she was born (we already saw Tess being born in one of the flashbacks in The 20s episode season 2) and was thinking that it was showing that’s what Annie will pursue, but then was able to tell it’s actually Deja. 😊 I do wonder what Annie is doing as an adult in the future timeline. Either that she’s working or finishing college as a junior or senior. Most of the other grandkids we know their future occupations: Tess - Social worker Jack - Singer and musician Hailey - Works at an art gallery (not sure what the specific title of that job is called) Deja - Doctor (studying in medical school)

I love how Deja and Annie seem to have developed a close bond with one another over time given that it seems like she confided in Annie first over anyone else about her pregnancy, so I hope to see more bonding between the three girls. 😁❤️ For a split second, I thought it was Annie as the black doctor/nurse but I was able to tell it was Deja due to the hairstyle and face. It’s interesting that Deja seems to be pursuing medical school in the future as an adult so I’m curious as to what drove her to pursuing that for her career. I hope the baby daddy is Malik but it could be someone else. Who knows. 🤷🏻♀️ So we know Tess becomes a social worker, Jack becomes a famous singer and musician, Hailey works at an art gallery, and Deja is in medical school to become a doctor. I wonder what Annie is doing as an adult as well as Nicolas and Franny (if we do ever see the twins as adults). YES! Like at first I was like how are they going to make it believable that Kate goes from a tan child to a fair skin teenager..but when they did a flashback this season the younger Kate looked like she was morphing into teen Kate...how do they KNOW??
Aside from amazing storytelling, the strenght of this show is absolutely in the casting of the perfect older versions of younger characters. How these people are not related I will never know.
I'm gonna be so sad to see this show go but Im glad they are leaving on top. Some shows run 10 years and the last few years are weak. This show is 6 seasons of perfection, not one weak episode.
I think the white car that just pulled up and honked is Malik. Because Deja was probably texting him from the car to coordinate that they would pull up at about the same time. Also, just the way Randall acknowledged the car with "look who it is", screams Malik to me. We will see if I'm right soon enough!
@@teampearson8600 Hopefully from this point forward, they will keep Randall’s appearance this way and fix up Kevin’s appearance with a little less gray as well to keep the aging consistent and match how they would really be in their 50s. I guess the first couple times, they made a mistake with the makeup on them and overdid it.
@@cheri7054 I know, but a lot of the viewers were complaining saying that they over aged everyone (which they did). This is only supposed to be 2030 so they’re not supposed to look that old. Makeup + hair on set hasn’t really been affected by covid, in that case we would never see older Rebecca. I think they just realized that they made everyone’s hair too grey the first time and they fixed it. Also, it’s not Beth . It’s Rebecca who is on her death bed.
Yeah of course but the look in his eye is one of happiness, like a gleam. The way he looked at while they were hugging and she said "it always goes by fast". I cant explain it but I just can tell he knows.

I really hope so. People are all wrecked about Kate and Toby, but I’m here rooting for Deja and Malik like they’re my actual niece and nephew. I’m not convinced he actually goes to Harvard though. Maybe that was just a cliff hanger. We know Randall got into Howard and didn’t go. Malik also got into Penn, so he can still go to an Ivy League school like he wanted and stay close to home without removing his daughter from the home she knows and staying close to Deja. No matter what happens, I hope they end up together in this flash forward.

now that i’ve seen the 12 episode of this season, i start to believe that the character arriving in the car is Sally just for the fact that she honks the horn as in her date with Nicky..
Many are predicting Dr. Mason (the doctor we met with the little girl, Sadie, and the horse) will turn out to be Nicky and Sally's son. That Sally was pregnant when she left for California and ended up settling down there with her cousins since she was having a child. That Nicky was father, but she never told him because how it was left between them when he did not meet her that night and she left alone. Later on, when she realized she was pregnant, maybe she found out he got drafted to Vietnam. Then I am thinking after Nicky was back, because Jack told Rebecca Nicky was dead he may have told other people too and she heard that from someone she had kept in touch with and believed it. Anyway, even if they do not get together again it would be nice if Nicky found out he had a son. Plus him being a doctor, well Nicky worked at the vet clinic and was also a medic in Vietnam. I'm thinking before he got so messed up he may have hoped to study to be a doctor. It would be nice for him to find out his son did become a doctor.
I think Kate is alive because in a previous episode when Randal calls Toby, Randal says ‘she wants you there toby’. So that’s either Kate or Hailey. But Hailey would be quite young so hopefully Kate.

I predict they’ll keep it simple and have it be Kate with Madison in the car with the four kids. They are best friends so it likely they come to the house together. Plus the vehicle look big enough to fit 4 ten year olds in the back
That’s a good theory! I think Kevin’s & Madison’s twins are already inside the house though because we saw them in the s4 finale. But it is possible that Kate and Madison come in the same car. Maybe Madison picked Kate and her kids up from the airport??

They should really start next season here and play on these roles a little bit more. I'm tired of trying to piece together what seems to be two flash forwards while doing math.😒 Correct me if I'm wrong but the twins and kates kids would be around the same age.... so this older Jack is still a mystery. The "what do they look like now" mystery attached for his timeline is still unsolved. There's Zoes character, Dejas character, Beth's dance dream come true, Toby and Randall look depressed, Kevin and the house, Rebecca's apparently dying, where is Kate... I guess you could say the whole, "where is Kate" question could be pinned to "how did Jack die. And that's the mystery now that we know what happened to Jack. So it makes since. But still, If @nbc is listening please tell me you guys are moving on with this being the present in next season. No more "the big three" in there 40s

Prediction for whos in the white car: *spoilers incoming* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Its Kate with her new husband and the kids. Not a crazy prediction but considering up until that season 5 finale I thought Kate was dead... Addendum: if it is Dejas partner as others have guessed I hope its Malik. The honking several times feels like something Malik would do.
I was initially thinking Kate with the notion of her advancing in her career and potentially organizing/leading a school concert making her arrive late. However rewatching this and hearing Randall saying “looks who’s here” with Deja waving. It is possibly her boyfriend/husband. Also the double honking seems something he would do to embarrass her in a loving way. I still don’t know about Kate, is she alive? Did she possibly go to England with her new husband? The family seems to be on good terms with Toby as they ask him if he will be there in one of the scenes.
I cannot believe it didn't occur to me throughout the whole episode that that might be Deja and Annie in the future - it gave me ridiculously warm fuzzies to realize it was them :'D And then I was immediately like "DUH, who else would it have been, it was so clearly them!" 😂Amazing casting and acting is amazing!

YES! Like at first I was like how are they going to make it believable that Kate goes from a tan child to a fair skin teenager..but when they did a flashback this season the younger Kate looked like she was morphing into teen Kate...how do they KNOW??

Aside from amazing storytelling, the strenght of this show is absolutely in the casting of the perfect older versions of younger characters. How these people are not related I will never know.
I'm gonna be so sad to see this show go but Im glad they are leaving on top. Some shows run 10 years and the last few years are weak. This show is 6 seasons of perfection, not one weak episode.

I think the white car that just pulled up and honked is Malik. Because Deja was probably texting him from the car to coordinate that they would pull up at about the same time. Also, just the way Randall acknowledged the car with "look who it is", screams Malik to me. We will see if I'm right soon enough!

It seems like they listened to the public and put less grey on Randall. 👌🏾 It looked like he aged too quickly before.

@@teampearson8600 Hopefully from this point forward, they will keep Randall’s appearance this way and fix up Kevin’s appearance with a little less gray as well to keep the aging consistent and match how they would really be in their 50s. I guess the first couple times, they made a mistake with the makeup on them and overdid it.
In the first flash forward he's all grey. Due to Covid the make up people are probably not used or are very limited.

@@cheri7054 I know, but a lot of the viewers were complaining saying that they over aged everyone (which they did). This is only supposed to be 2030 so they’re not supposed to look that old. Makeup + hair on set hasn’t really been affected by covid, in that case we would never see older Rebecca. I think they just realized that they made everyone’s hair too grey the first time and they fixed it. Also, it’s not Beth . It’s Rebecca who is on her death bed.

I really hope so. People are all wrecked about Kate and Toby, but I’m here rooting for Deja and Malik like they’re my actual niece and nephew. I’m not convinced he actually goes to Harvard though. Maybe that was just a cliff hanger. We know Randall got into Howard and didn’t go. Malik also got into Penn, so he can still go to an Ivy League school like he wanted and stay close to home without removing his daughter from the home she knows and staying close to Deja. No matter what happens, I hope they end up together in this flash forward.

now that i’ve seen the 12 episode of this season, i start to believe that the character arriving in the car is Sally just for the fact that she honks the horn as in her date with Nicky..
Many are predicting Dr. Mason (the doctor we met with the little girl, Sadie, and the horse) will turn out to be Nicky and Sally's son. That Sally was pregnant when she left for California and ended up settling down there with her cousins since she was having a child. That Nicky was father, but she never told him because how it was left between them when he did not meet her that night and she left alone. Later on, when she realized she was pregnant, maybe she found out he got drafted to Vietnam. Then I am thinking after Nicky was back, because Jack told Rebecca Nicky was dead he may have told other people too and she heard that from someone she had kept in touch with and believed it. Anyway, even if they do not get together again it would be nice if Nicky found out he had a son. Plus him being a doctor, well Nicky worked at the vet clinic and was also a medic in Vietnam. I'm thinking before he got so messed up he may have hoped to study to be a doctor. It would be nice for him to find out his son did become a doctor.

I think Kate is alive because in a previous episode when Randal calls Toby, Randal says ‘she wants you there toby’. So that’s either Kate or Hailey. But Hailey would be quite young so hopefully Kate.

That’s a good theory! I think Kevin’s & Madison’s twins are already inside the house though because we saw them in the s4 finale. But it is possible that Kate and Madison come in the same car. Maybe Madison picked Kate and her kids up from the airport??

They should really start next season here and play on these roles a little bit more. I'm tired of trying to piece together what seems to be two flash forwards while doing math.😒 Correct me if I'm wrong but the twins and kates kids would be around the same age.... so this older Jack is still a mystery. The "what do they look like now" mystery attached for his timeline is still unsolved.
There's Zoes character, Dejas character, Beth's dance dream come true, Toby and Randall look depressed, Kevin and the house, Rebecca's apparently dying, where is Kate...
I guess you could say the whole, "where is Kate" question could be pinned to "how did Jack die. And that's the mystery now that we know what happened to Jack. So it makes since. But still, If @nbc is listening please tell me you guys are moving on with this being the present in next season. No more "the big three" in there 40s

Its Kate with her new husband and the kids. Not a crazy prediction but considering up until that season 5 finale I thought Kate was dead...
Addendum: if it is Dejas partner as others have guessed I hope its Malik. The honking several times feels like something Malik would do.

I was initially thinking Kate with the notion of her advancing in her career and potentially organizing/leading a school concert making her arrive late. However rewatching this and hearing Randall saying “looks who’s here” with Deja waving. It is possibly her boyfriend/husband. Also the double honking seems something he would do to embarrass her in a loving way.
I still don’t know about Kate, is she alive? Did she possibly go to England with her new husband? The family seems to be on good terms with Toby as they ask him if he will be there in one of the scenes.
