Love how she threw the 'hysterical' accusation at her. It's a typical response from the morally depraved.
Yep....
Morally depraved. Now that is a perfect analogy.
It's also misogyny
The way she cradled her womb as if she was trying to protect Randall from before he was born, that breaks my soul. I
But Randall is adopted he wasn’t in her womb-
@@luckybug479Yes but Rebecca always treated Randall like he was her own
I feel bad that the young Randall actor had to listen to this scene
I was thinking the same thing
He would have experienced it in real life sadly.
@@casmeraki no but to have to listen to the raw explanation of why he may have experienced someone treating him differently in real his life is additionally traumatic at such a young age.
Agreed
It's possible that the young actor wasnt anywhere near the room when the scene was shot..editing makes scenes look continuous when they can easily not be..its possible that the shot of the mother turning around and seeing the child could have happened hours or even days later, all the actors wearing the same clothes and it was simply stitched to the rest of the scene. In fact this is almost certainly what happened because they had to move the camera and hence the lighting..which probably took awhile.
Rebecca Pearson is a wonderful mother
Jack is an awesome dad🥺
Not as much as her mom
Except for keeping William a secret. In a way it is understandable because she lost Kyle and she never wants to lose a child again. Still tho.... that was his biological dad.
It’s a tv show and they are actors
Mandy Moore is an amazing actress. Every role she played is incredible
Mandy Moore was briliiant here. The motherly pain and resentment all piled up and she hurled it all out in this scene. She spoke for every mom who has experienced racism regarding their children.
Her mom actually listens. My mom would not listen for even twenty seconds.
Right! That's the one thing that was glaring unrealistic to me about this scene. If this was real, the moment Rebecca opened her mouth her mother would cut her off and talk over her; it would just descend into garbage. I'm guilty of doing this too sometimes, especially when talking about politics/race/religion. It is VERY hard to keep your mouth shut when someone is saying something that offends your ego, beliefs, position, or what have you.
In this case... Be Hard.
@@sam6350 Actually no. It's pretty realistic because not all bigotry is intentional malevolence. Her mother's defense was pretty spot on calling Rebecca hysterical and saying how she couldn't understand that new pastor's accent. She's not a hateful person, just ignorant.
lonnie chavis (young randall here) is incredibly smart and wise. he wrote an essay on his experiences with racism when he was about 12 years old. he talked about this scene and how it was hard for him not to cry because it was so familiar to his reality
I love how close they are. She was always so protective of Randall.
this is the scene i saw on the facebook group a few months ago. straight after i watched the pilot. and now ive finally caught up. great show.
Bindge watch!? I'm sorry, if I binge watched this, I would have ran out of tears by season 2.
Saw this scene on my RUclips recommendations few years ago binged the first 2 seasons. being crying for 16 weeks a year since then.
I don’t know how this show makes me laugh until my sides hurt and leaves me on the verge of tears pretty much every episode. It’s just incredible.
I love Rebecca for protecting Randall
This older actress looks like an older version of Millie Bobbie Brown facially.
Yeah exactly what I thought!
Yup totally saw that as well
Yeah she does, she was in the tom hanks movie "Big" and there Millie looks like her totally ✌️
Rebecca and Randall have the sweetest relationship ❤
I think about this scene every now and then. That is how powerful this is.
This was the first scene from the show that i saw on tv and it was this scene that made me fall in love with the show.
Such a powerful scene. Chills every time!
Every time I watch it, it’s like the first time!
Mandy Moore at its best! 💪
Her*
WHOA did not realise its Mandy Moore.
EDIT: And the sad thing is she is totally right people like this exist, often those who are close to us are like this and since we know them we make excuses for them but there comes a time when enough is enough. Confrontation is necessary no matter how hard it is
I love this scene better than any other one in the series. I don't know it is so natural and makes me feel the pure love of a mother. Rebecca just please adopt me.
One of the most powerful shows I have ever seen
She is amazing. Dad is amazing. They are all amazing and I want them to exist everywhere!!!!!!
"when you being hysterical"...........
I love u Rebecca ❤️
This is one of my favorites scenes in show really, and what make it better also is her mom really doesn't realize she is being recist which is so realistic really
Love This is US , because it shows there is a part of us all.
This is the scene that got me to watch this is us ☀️
She done well. When you see it call it out
It's always heartbreaking when the children here things like this...
Honestly it's very tough to not only make ur parents realize but to say that they r wrong.
We always hv this teaching parents r right , they know more than us . Especially its more challenging if ur parents have set mindset.
Ugh my heart dropped when she turned around and he was listening.
Rebecca and Randall. That's all we need❤
It could be me and my mom. That's why I just simply love this serie.
0:46 when she said that, I cringed and knew what time it was
ESSA CENA É TUDO
Jezz... what episode is this?? Never wach this series before, but I need to know how it end it
Hysterical she calls the woman who is speaking clearly and calmly.
Heartbreaking
I hate this woman pretending she's so innocent and being treated bad by her daughter.
Mandy acting was timeless and epic. 😮
"Bye, got better things to do with the rest of my life and your inheritance." Lol
What episode is this?
Most moms are best moms but she is the best
❤️❤️❤️👏👏

Biracial people experience this a lot in their families as well.
What episode is ??
Least she didn't have to taste her unfiltered water

This is the channel that started dharr man lol
I hate that she (Janet) acts innocent when everything 'Becca says it's true. And certianly thanks to Grandma Janet, Kate would get a food complex beside that note at the pool. Is this show on Netflix Canada?
Yes it is
when is season 5 coming on prime????????????

@@pi_square9623 s4 is available on hotstar

Telegram. The best option there is.
Typical gaslighting. Wouldn't admit to anything. Incriminates your normal reaction to the situation.
On a lighter note, her mother looks like Julia Ann
Kate should of got grandma as a mother.
What?
Whyy
Karen🤧
Salt & Peppa what a crook of BS
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The spiritual english disturbingly store because anime biologically seal minus a fallacious bongo. deeply, merciful nerve
Is this supposed to be a comedy 😂😂😂😂
No?
I love Amazon but I reported this video because of the wrong message.
She’s not the one who should be ashamed of herself.
She sounded paranoid to me.
To be fair he really is not her real grandson. I would probably fell sam if had no gene share gramdson no mater if he alien
What’s wrong with you?
She was being pretty hysterical
Not really, more like she is at breaking point
She was being a protective and loving mom defending her child to the child’s grandmother. She wasn’t hysterical enough IMO.
You being serious??
I think hes joking, I hope hes joking
Didn’t you just watch that scene look what her mum said
Garbage show
If it's garbage, why bother wasting your time watching it. Nobody forced you. You're being hysterical. 😂
Garbage comment
A human trash can would be an expert on garbage
Nothing wrong with the mom, it's obvisousily the daughter who has a problem.
Obviously, Another person, who have entitled white privilege had no idea of how it feels to be the victim of systemic racism or be empathetic towards the lesser privileged ones, considers the daughter hysterical and in wrong. On an unrelated note, you don't even know how to spell 'obviously'. 😂
maybe learn how to spell before excusing racism
No
I did not know that this show is so woke, glad i did waste my time
Is this show woke? Or are you a narcissist who can't be bothered to care about anyone's experiences other than your own?
What's woke about it?
She is amazing. Dad is amazing. They are all amazing and I want them to exist everywhere!!!!!!
Love how she threw the 'hysterical' accusation at her. It's a typical response from the morally depraved.
You just stole that comment...
Yeah I thought I was imagining it but didnt someone else make that comment?
Yep someone called Bernard Bunan (or something like that) made that comment in this section about 2 months ago.
What episode is this?
Mandy Moore at its best! 💪
Hi Vanessa
