It's one of the best shows I've ever watched, though I have to admit that nostalgia might play a big role in why I love it so much. The show is very well written, acted, and scored. The long narrative format allows you to really get to know the characters and enjoy their progression over time. Plus, let's be honest, Lana Lang is quite fit! If you enjoy superhero stories with a strong character focus, "Smallville" is definitely worth your time. It’s much better than a lot of the shows today and it only gets better as it goes along, peak seasons being 2,3,5,6,8 and 9.
Seasons 1-5 are the best seasons of Smallville for me. Without giving away any spoilers, the final seasons were a little darker in tone than I cared for.
