    I really like what you have done to this. I’m definitely learning some good tips from watching your videos. If I may… the image is leaning slightly to the right. Use the central pole in front of the entrance: you can see it’s not vertical.

    JC I follow your Fine Art tutorials from Barcelona, I try to highlight areas of the buildings by selecting parts of the structure, and I learn a lot with your contributions.

      Thanks Todd. I worked downtown for 19 years (7 WTC and then WFC). I used to walk by the Towers every morning.

    I saw another shot of that building recently and i immediately wanted to shoot it. Didn’t know it was in New York. It’s a architectural photographers dream !! Your shot is fantastic! I’m sure making that selection took forever. Lol. Thanks for sharing..

    Great video! The Oculus is a tricky selection. I wonder if using the object selection tool in Photoshop would have done a good job here?

      Thanks Vincent! I did try the object selection tool after you suffered it. First attempt was not great so I moved on. Maybe I should try again.

    Shocked that security gave you a hard time. Happens in my city Melbourne, Australia and when I visited NY I was in a empty grand central station and couldn’t use my tripod but it was ok to set up my tripod in Time Square where there were thousands of pedestrians 🙈

      Sometimes the rules don't make much sense but security people rarely deviate from the rule! Thanks for watching!

    Fascinating from start to finish. I especially liked the inside detailed shots, with the subtle light, contrast and tones. Next time we cross the Pond, I must try to get there. Thanks for the video, Jay.

    What a great selection of images Jay and the Oculus is one of my key locations to shoot when I get back to NYC. As security are sensitive to using any type of tripod, do you think you would get with using a Platypod plate. On my recent trip to Valencia, I used my tripod for about 90% of all my images and security had no issues with them which made a welcome change compared to other cities I have visited

    We have also Calatrava architecture in Athens and all over Europe. He has always the same style. Many cities don`t want his architecture anymore. It`s somehow boring

    • @JCImagesBehindtheShot
      @JCImagesBehindtheShot  Год назад +1

      I know that he is somewhat controversial. I am a fan but I know that not everyone likes his style. That is what art is all about, I guess.

      @@JCImagesBehindtheShot I like him too. He made nice stuff, but Europe is flooded with his architecture. It's just too much. That's why people are bored

      @@greeceinfocus I get it. I wonder if people are getting tired of the metallic Frank Gehry look as well.

      @@JCImagesBehindtheShot In Düsseldorf Germany we have such a building for many years. I like his style. He is different. The building you shooted in Vegas looks great. You are very good in architecture. But with NYC you have the right playground. Here in Athens is no interesting architecture
