Super soft black paint on a giant offroad vehicle that will never leave the streets...
Vibration. It keeps popping up every time I watch a review on Griots G9. I got one for Christmas anyway. I’ve never used a polisher so I’ve got no previous experience to compare it. I’m glad you mentioned the vibration. I trust you more because you did.
amazing review Im buying a polisher right now and this is the one!!!!!!!
How do u like it so far?
404 not found just got it in a few days ago I like it !!
Even though I will never buy a Griot's product, I appreciate the demo.
Nice work!
Happy to hear that you liked the video!
May have gotten a bad G9, but mine stopped working after 2 months. probably used it 3 times. I think it was the cable connection point. I returned to Griots for a full refund. During my use of the G9, I really liked it. Easy to use, well balanced. I switched to a 5" plate and pads. It knocked out medium to heavy scratches well even with it's 9mm throw. Recommend Griots correction cream. Wish mind didn't give out.
You should have let them replace yours man ..... I love my G9 and I use these pads with it ~! ruclips.net/video/aUOnrLz9u_M/видео.htmlsi=un-EzSEb26QlvoHw
Ta ta ta ta you make look easy.
Great vid!
So is this polisher a DA?
Yes it is
I now have a G9 and was wondering what buffer I should get to compliment the G9? I have a BMW K75C, A 05 DODGE MAGNUM, and lastly a 99 Tahoe 4 door which I believe will shine up beautifully with the proper equipment. Thanks for helping a noob!
Happy to hear you are enjoying the G9! This unit is great and you can certainly polish an entire vehicle using it. If you are using 5" or 6" pads with the G9, pairing it with a smaller unit (i.e. the Griot's Garage G8), would be a great option as you can use it to target smaller, hard to reach areas. If you need any other suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out via our site here (www.detailedimage.com/Contact/).
Why would you need a second one if youre only doing personal vehicles ? I think one should do the trick for you. I do cars I sell and I use a DA and Rotary. Only got the rotary for deep scratches and really faded paint. But im not pro so maybe with a better DA I wouldnt even need a rotary. But im not 100% sure. But i think one is all you would need for personal use.
How would you compare it to the shine master 15 mm Pro version 2.. shine Master looks overall more professional built tool.?
I’m curious to find out as well
According to this video. The G9 was his choice ruclips.net/video/LHsiGGiP2PA/видео.html
Thanks for the info. What chair is that you are using? Thanks
from his kitchen table 🤪😝
I would like to see a video comparing the G9 with the ShineMaster M15pro.
I think they are the same? Maxshine is the factory who produce the products for griots garage
Here ruclips.net/video/LHsiGGiP2PA/видео.html
M15 pro is junk stall on body lines bad
Try and review the newer g15 if u can, thank you!
G9 having some issues ,my G9 stop working while I was working on my car and I see some other detailed having same problems,I also post video on RUclips, well griots replace new one I didn’t get chance to used yet let’s see
I read it was a problem with the cord. What was it for you?
@@xxdemonshitxx my G9 code is fine,my G9 stole lot and lot of Vibration lol well I got replacement still second had a problem too so I just don’t wanna deal with it
How come your Fast Correcting cream have more consistency? Mine is very diluted
Consistency can change slightly from batch to batch, but if yours is very watery I would recommend shaking the bottle thoroughly. If that does not help, how was the bottle stored, how old is it, etc. If the bottle was stored in a garage or somewhere that sees high heat or cold, that is not good and can change the products consistency. Always store the item at room temperature and away from direct sun.
I’m confused is this a DA polisher? Why do they call it something else
Random Orbital and Dual Action units are the same units with the same type of backing plate motions.
@@DetailedImage thank you!
Any noticed bad vibration?
He mentions vibration in the video, I’m assuming all vibration is bad?
@@jpan7071 well you have some vibration you can tolerate and control or out of control.
the truck is gleaming and shiny before you started.
John - This truck was thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated before any polishing was performed.
this G9 stalls out while using it.
The G9 is a long throw unit and not a forced rotation, so it will stall if you use too much pressure or do not have the pad level. You want to work on your technique and allow the polisher to do most of the work. Using a longer throw unit does take some getting used to, but after finding that sweet spot the G9 is a fantastic entry level unit.
The people who own these cars amuse me. Detailing an off-road truck is mindless if in fact it's going to be used off-road. These trucks aren't suppose to be trailer queens. The only thing you need with one of these is a pressure washer to get the mud off.
Cleaning, polishing, and protecting is great for any type of vehicle, whether it is an off roader or pavement queen. In terms of off roading vehicles, protecting will allow you to remove dirt and grime easier than if the paint was not protected. Plus, if you are going to protect, why not remove imperfections to leave the paint looking its best.
My friend calls the trailer queen trucks, "Mall Crawlers".
Your information if helpful. May I offer a public speaking tip? Watch your own video and count how many times you say umm or ahh. Work to get those out of your presentations.
Okay, I'm not the only one who thought that right away. 👍 A public speaking coarse will point that out real quick.
Join a Toastmasters group if you can find one near you. There are also courses from time to time that you might find that are not too coarse.
I was thinking the same thing on older videos.
Love this guy, and DI though. I'd love to see him take his public speaking to the next level. He's so, so close.
Quit saying um. It’s so annoying
G9 = Fail. The stop spinning is so sensitive that it will only polish big flat panels
All long throw polishers due have the tendency to stall if the backing plate is not flat. This can happen with the G9 or the larger, more powerful Rupes Big Foot units. I have found that tweaking my technique and utilizing the power of the unit (avoiding unnecessary pressure) allows for great results in less time.
Due to the price point I wouldn't buy this machine personally. I am a novice user and just wouldn't make this kind of investment right off the bat. There's other machines on the market a lower price point that can get novice users started. After more experience (for me personally) I may consider this machine. Good video.
Ricardo- I appreicate the feedback brother- what machine have you liked so far?
@@DetailedImage I purchased the Harbor Freight 7in variable speed polisher. Works well and for the price you can't beat it. If it ever dies I'll consider a Griots or something similar.
That's your loss dude. Lifetime warranty for 150 bucks. Could never go wrong with Griots. Ever. Best costumer service you will ever find in a detailing company. I've used this machine personally, it's AMAZING for the price point. There is nothing even close to this. Nothing.
Ricardo- totally understand- i think the griots might be one to consider if you are ever in the market for a new machine.
@@DetailedImage I bought my First Polisher at Harbor Freight...a Month later....I bought the Griot's 3" Polisher(previous model)....there is night and day difference between the 2 brands.....and just this week, i have now ordered the NEW G8 Mini Polisher...I mainly polish motorcycles so the smaller unit is more suitable.... I have a question tho: seems many professional detailers refer to Griot's Polishers as Great for beginners....Am I missing something? I am just a weekend warrior on detailing....What makes other Polishers better or more suitable for professional use?
