    Do you think unfinished manga has had an impact on how the industry approaches the well-being of authors?

      Yeah I remember watching it back in high school days. It just hits different. I never knew the author passed so that made me even more sad and nostalgic.

    Sayonara Miniskirt was on hiatus for five years due to the declining health of the Mangaka and is supposed to be getting a new chapter in April. Fruits Basket was not almost finished after the Mangaka broke her dominenet hand and had to learn how to draw with her non-dominent hand. Than there is HunterXHunter. It should also be noted that Muria had the ending to Berserk planed out all the way back in the Eclipse storyline.

      I haven't heard of Sayonara Miniskirt, will definitely be checking it out. I did know about Hunter x Hunter but I didn't feel like dragging out the video so I may make a follow up covering the ones you mentioned. Thanks for the info and for watching. ✌

    Kaze No Stigma.... it has a 24 episode anime series and the author of LN & Manga... Takahiro Yamato died on July 20, 2009, the story remains incomplete at twelve volumes (2002-2010).

    Even if these series go unfinished, I only wish that notes or a summary of their original vision would be released or would have been written down so that we can see what they wanted to see as a finished work.

    • @richtaku
      @richtaku  Месяц назад +1

      I agree. Fortunately some authors think ahead and may write down notes or pass on this information to a close friend as to how they want the series continued after their passing.

    Another underrated manga you might want to check out is "Beet! The Vandal Buster," it went on hiatus due to poor health of the author. Not sure if the author has recovered or not but that series should have had an anime series. I think it was about to start the endgame arc when it just stopped.

      Thanks for the recommendation, definitely will check it out! Reminds me of Vegabond since that was also near completion from what I recall.

    I wasn’t gonna read berserk, cause I didn’t wanta read 60 something volumes and not get a finished story after all that, but once I heard his best friend was going to continue it I started to read it. It’ll take me a while, since it’s gonna cost me over hundreds of dollars to buy, but I’m excited to see how it’ll turn out!

      The best friend is carrying on his work but it's obviously coming out slower than it normally did but the artwork the story and everything feels the same The best friend is doing a good job keeping his friends legacy going

      Yeah I have to hand it to his best friend for keeping the manga still going and doing his best to carry on his legacy. Mad respect.

    Biobooster Armor Guyver has been on indefinite hiatus. Not because the author died (that I know of), he just stopped. So we will probably never get an ending to that one.

      Oooh, I never heard of this one. Did some research and I see it went on "hiatus" in 2016. Very interesting. I couldn't find a reason as to why either. Thanks for sharing.

    Being a weekly manga artist is like voluntary slavery. Working yourself to the bone for what they would probably earn on minimum wage unless their series becomes really popular.
    Japan as a whole needs to fix its’ work culture. It’s one of the richest countries in the world but also one of the most miserable.

    • @richtaku
      @richtaku  27 дней назад +1

      I agree. The country on its surface is beautiful and clean, but there are a lot of things happening behind the scenes which are very disturbing and leading people to live unfulfilling lives. Overwork being one of many. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common trend in the manga industry.
