I remember this when I first played this on an Atgames console (It was a Japanese famicom version of Blue planet software's that had the controls modified so you won't screw up trying to clear 25 lines to move onto the next speed level) and When the do do-do do part comes, I sing: "Kalinka, kalinka, kalinka moya! V sadu yagoda malinka, malinka moya!" This version inspired me to create an easter egg for an upcoming series (I hope) known as Kyivtrix where you must clear 30 using the S, T, O, L & I Tetrominos & a U pentomino but appart from the future series, that legends unit had difficulties with some of the buttons: the start and C button could not even respond, hope the new version of the home console legends ultimate fixed this problem cause this song reminds me of the first time I even owned Tetris* (Some of Korobushka could make you think Kalinka has the same notes but they're 2 different Russian songs) *Tetris: Axis (3DS, 2011-2012)
It's because Japanese people doesn't have L in their Language, and since this is a Japanese incarnation of the Russia-developed game, it is spelled Karinka.
@@chantalpinero7240 The same thing happened in the Tengen version, which is strange considering that version was made in America. Also, another example is Crash Man in Rockman 2 being called Clash Man.
To me, this is most iconic song in all of 8 bit Tetris, next to the Type B theme in the Game Boy version!
This game gets an original sound is catchy i cannot stop learning

The fact Nintendo didn’t release this version if Tetris in the U.S.
There were some legal shenanigans involved.
Also it's not very good compared with the version that we got.
This is my personal favorite bgm in this version of tetris... But it's mislabelled in game when it's supposed to be kalinka not kaRinka
