- These fuel injectors CAN be cleaned and saved when they are serviced properly. We do not use low pressure port injection flow benches. We test at high pressure and this is a video showing the process.

I bought a used set of index 12 injectors from a guy off market for a reasonable price then sent them to injector rehab to get cleaned, tested and regenerated. I had one fail testing which is the gamble you take when buying used injectors. The ones that passed though I installed in my car and they operate flawlessly. Highly recommend them for this service and the price is very responsible compared to the price of buying a brand new index 12 injector.

@@InjectorRehab I knew exactly what I was getting into even just buying used injectors and I hope everyone else does too. There's no guarantee that they all will even work without issue. Just because someone says they are good doesn't mean they actually are. I'm happy with the result I got from your service on mine though. Now i'll see how long they last.

Hi. Do you have to do something after cleaning the nozzles and installing them in the software? For example, reset engine control unit adaptations? Or something else ?
Great video. Are you able to explain about the regeneration of the piezo stack? Does that mean that leaking / out of calibration injectors can be fixed? Also, that injector was used in the N53 eninge as well, which was (unfortunately!) sold in Europe.
No these injectors can not be fixed. Only cleaned. If it’s broken it’s not reparable.

Few questions. is there a minimum mileage range we should consider removing them and sending to you for cleaning? Maybe at 50k miles?
you say the injectors need to be "serviced properly", is there anything additional that we need to do to service them? Fuel injector cleaner? Or do you mean sending them to you for cleaning is the "serviced properly".
We don't have a set mileage, just when you notice issues. Properly meaning at high pressure like we do, not on a port injection bench running low pressure.

Just as an FYI, the same injectors are also for the n53 engine, but with a different part number. The n53 did not reach the us market

Do adjustment values change after all this? I’m talking about the values that are coded to the dme when injectors are changed.
No coding does not change as it is not disassembled like a diesel injector would be, which would require coding. Being ditty and not flowing what the coding is telling the DME is part of what causes the issue. Flowing incorrectly is basically the same as entering different coding.

Sorry if I missed it but will this address leaking injectors? I'm a bit confused since most N54 issues is the leaking right and I thought those had to be internally rebuilt. I watched the whole video and not sure how cleaning them helps the leaking in any way?
It does address it, in some cases, hence why we say on our website about the success rate and an entire article around managing your expectations where we explain that there should be no expectation that this is some magic potion. This is not a diesel injector. It can't be "taken apart".
@@InjectorRehab Thank you for the reply. This is interesting... it looks like there is only one company out there (GB Remanufacturing) that truly does rebuild them. I wonder if they just cut it open and weld them back together? Unless they have some kind of special industry secret....
@@JackRR15 no. We work with GB every single day. We have the same equipment. I can guarantee you we've done more of these than GB. We do it for the public, GB only does it for one other reseller. I would assume their description is different of what is being done than what the reality is. Assuming you are talking about FCP Euro as that is the only company GB does these for.

@@JackRR15 The confusion might be coming from them selling remanufactured index 12. They are taking cores and what is salvageable they are able to sell as rebuilt. You sending your set in for service, there is a chance some of those cores would not be good. However, they are your cores. FCP supplies GB with cores, takes their chances on what is sellable, and they sell those. We also have them on our site for sale when we are able to get good cores. They are not easy to find and are only getting harder over the years.
i think my index 11 is clogged. misfires like crazy and car shakes. would this help or does it have less chances of the service helping than if it would be leaking?

@@ItSpooling_ What was the question? Ultimately, you want the injector to operate like new, correct? That's what the service does. No matter what the issue with the injector is. We cannot tell the outcome until we actually do it. I'm not sure how you want the question answered or what your question is if that answer is not what you are looking for.

Index 1 injectors are known to be pretty good. They were never recalled. So is it worth sending them in?

@InjectorRehab in your professional opinion is it a good idea to clean them if they are still working well. Could cleaning them have adverse effects on their function? Or do the later versions have the bad particulate filters that's get damaged?
@InjectorRehab I currently have 220k kms on them and they don't seem to have problems.
@@alexmedia7421 they typically have good results. They aren't very common, so the in depth explanation causes more confusion than it's worth. It's one of those inside secrets where, if you know, you know

@@InjectorRehab Good point but the coding of those injectors basically tells the car the slight variations in the flow rates and whatever other metrics apply to these injectors. I assume those values would differ after a reconditioning done by you? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@gster109 I dont follow your logic. DME is coded for injector 1 to be coded for X, injector 2 to be coded for Y ect ect... They are removed, cleaned, Piezo stack regenerated and everything is back to new standards... Injector 1 is put back in to 1, injector 2 is put back in to 2... What would you code? The number printed on the injector didnt change. The only reason you would need to is if you didnt keep them in order, right? Either I am missing your point completely, or you are missing mine. Either way, the answer is No. You would not need to recode an injector being used in the same cylinder it was removed from after being serviced.
@@InjectorRehab The coding process takes care of differences in flow rate of each individual injector. After you recondition them aren't those flow rates going to differ from when they were brand new, even if it's a minor or negligible variance? The reason to code is not necessarily to tell the car which cyl it's in but rather the flow rate tolerance/variance from factory.
@@gster109 Yeah exactly. So how would bringing an injector back to its original specs or as close to them as possible require coding that the DME is already set for? The injector would be pulled and sent to us because its not performing as it should be. The computer doesn't know that.... so how would getting an injector that is out of spec, back to spec, require coding? And no... we arent altering them from when they were new. Which is exactly my point of them requiring being cleaned and piezo stack regenerated back to new.
The "which cylinder" was saying if you pulled an injector from the same cylinder and put it back in the same cylinder how would you code it differently than it is already coded for.
So, just test and report back to customers. U don't fix them if bad?
No, Did you watch from 8:09 and on??? Those that are able to be fixed are fixed, reported and sent back.....
@@InjectorRehab I see. I thought to fix, u have to disassemble, I guess back flush will work too. I guess that is how they refurbish them. After your test and "repair", would the calibration number change?
BTW, have u seen people in China intentionally erase and change the index to 12 and randomly put in some calibration number? Because I have done some DME injector calibration programming and the DME rejected those calibration numbers.
@@derekkchung they, like every other Injector, are a sealed unit and cannot be opened.
China does all sorts of stuff. They can't get port injection knockoffs right, don't know how the hell they would get Piezoelectric right.
Each Injector would get a report back with all the flow information.
@@derekkchung🤔🤔 so basically go buy some really good fuel injector cleaner and pour it in your tank and fill with according gallons. Then rev your engine hard and heavy like right up to the redline. Feather the throttle occasionally. Do this until fuel is half of what you started with. 🤏
