This is bringing tears to this old man’s eyes.😢 My little dog LOVED takin short rides in our Ural’s sidecar, and her tail was always wagging like a helicopter rotor. She was 17, and flying high! She just got her wings 2 weeks ago, and this will be my first year riding solo without her. She was a broken rescue when we got her, but she loved going places, anyplace, especially with Dad in the sidecar. I hope she finds a sidecar over that Rainbow Bridge. Sweet Dreams, Little Girl….. 💔
Unfortunately there is no bond without the pain of lose. I'll take the pain and the bond any day of the week. Take care hope your still out there doing it.
Also glad to see the safety straps you use to secure him to the tub. Think he likes it. Thanks for your videos. I actually laugh out loud watching Buddy and his new adventures.
I stumbled across this video as I was looking at sidecars to add to my Thruxton so I can take my doggo along with me! This is one of my favourite videos ever! It just warms my heart to see how much you love your riding partner. Our dogs are special.
I just adopted a great Dane. I lost my pitbupl puppy and I ride a 2002 Heritage Softail and a 2016 road Glide. My 2002 I am putting on a sidecar for him. I Love how you care for you're boy. I don't know you but I love man.
I was wondering what the banging noise was until I can see his tail wagging. Such a happy puppy. He looks so comfortable. Thank God you got a real dog and not one of these things as small as a cat. Real dogs are good companions good guards for the house and your stuff and mellow compared to those neurotic little puff balls
That is the right thing to do. I trained my little dog to ride on the back of my Indian the same way. Got her used to the box, then the wife comforted her will I rode up and down the drive.
LOVED this video! VERY excited to see you guys are here in Australia! Would be keen to learn more on sidecar usage etc. My English Mastiff would LOVE this!
I had sold off my old '05 Ural Troyka after it had set unfinished out in my garage for years. Just purchased a new to me '05 Ural to replace it with. All of my rescue dogs had previously grown up in the hack and took almost no training at all to adjust and love riding in it. Sometimes I ran with as many as three dogs riding with me as my hack monkeys. However, my Bichon and my Standard Poodle I presently have now are both hesitant to get up into the tub, which means some training is necessary at this point. I Have not removed the seat to give them more space yet and I was hoping to not have to do that. I can ride them about in my back yard to get them used to it. I still have to put in some harness setups or leashes to keep them onboard, but that is not an issue for me to modify and do. I really am relearning myself as to the maintenance and care of my Ural Tourist, as it is different than the Troyka I had enjoyed. I am back into riding these steeds and will enjoy myself all the more once my hack buds get trained properly. It is amazing as to how much I knew about these Urals has escaped me over the years and that I now need to catch up a bit. Nice video. If I could only get my wife to help train the dogs by riding like that on the fender. She would have one of those brown shorts moments if I even suggested it to her. ;-)
Yeah, she already loves riding in our Jeep with us. Our only issue will be giving our Great Dane, Moo, seat time in the Ural when our 9 year old daughter isn't home. Lol
I want to find or build a sidecar for my dog. She currently rides sitting on my lap with paws on tank. She loves it. Been riding with her almost 2 years since she was 10 weeks old.
Eh mate, love the video and want to get an Ural really bad. Got two 40-50lbs doggos, Small Border Collies. Was wonder what's your boys height when standing on all 4s and his weight. Wanna get an idea on if I could get both of em in the sidecar. Dealers won't exactly let me test it. Haha
Hi , Buddy is about 35kgs (77lbs) , I take the seat out and have a padded board that I fit , then he has a bit more room, So I think your dogs will probably fit with some mods.
@@CreakyRider Absolutely fantastic! Thanks so much for the info. As well as the awesome videos you got on the Urals! Keep it up mate & have a beautiful day.
When my idiot dog gets loose because I have bad legs I have to follow him with the Euro sidecar outfit I get strange looks for people see me chasing the dog through their yard. When I catch up to him I usually just tie his leash to the luggage rack where he can't get out and I just take it back to the house.
Hi Yes Buddy is doing well , he's 10 years old now . We have new little mate for him , Teddy , but Teddy is not keen on the sidecar so Buddy stays home to babysit.
I know this is a year old, but how hard was it to add the side car? And how hard it easy was it to adjust for buddy? I'm asking because of like to get a set up for me and my dog, we travel a lot and we're really interested in getting a set up similar to yours. Thx
The bike is a Ural , so it had the sidecar attached already. The setup for Buddy was easy , he’s a very easy going dog , he’ll do whatever it takes to get a walk in the bush.
Awesome your dog is well trained , my dog is 10 years old , he came to sidecar training late , he has no road sense and would jump out if he saw a wallaby or rabbit.
This is bringing tears to this old man’s eyes.😢

Thank you for help adjusting my best friend to the sidecar. You my friend are a great animal person.
Excellent, looking forward to doing the same thing with our cattle dog.
My Ural arrives on Wednesday… I can’t wait. An old Retro Classic so should be fun
Awesome , enjoy !

Just great Kieth. A man and his dog "Buddy". Looks like he was enjoying that ride. He will let you know how much next you ask him to come I think.

Nice vid. Would be good to see more detail of how you rigged up the "extended seat" in the front section of the side car.

I like the Millennium Falcon on the sidecar.
Gardner or Doohan could not do better. Both are the best I've ever seen. Now my Lucy will be a World Champ!!
I should have said, your mate is Doohan Fine!!
Such a lovely video! We are hoping to train our next pup to ride in a side car, I hope he will be as good as Buddy one day 👍💕
Thanks , good luck with your puppy 👍

Good stuff , I think most dogs will get used to it , but my little mini Foxie , Milly, didn’t like it.
Great video, thanks for making it.
Can't wait to get mine going and taking my buddy for a ride!
Great video. He needs some doggles to protect his eyes.
Yep , they have just arrived , I'm trying to get him used to having them on.
@@CreakyRider get him a hat or beanie too or just something which protects his ears
Pig and I have done hundreds of miles together. Hes my best mate.
Good stuff , I hope Buddy and I can do some bigger trips soon.
My boy hopped in the first day and was like ok let's get going
Super, enjoy your videos. You are living the life once in my life I would like to have :) Super cute dog.
Another great video.and my dog and I watched and liked this.
As soon as monsoon season stops, here in Upstate South Carolina, we plan on doing this with our 3 year old Great Dane.
A Great Dane ! Wow , he will be huge in the side car 😀
Yeah, she already loves riding in our Jeep with us. Our only issue will be giving our Great Dane, Moo, seat time in the Ural when our 9 year old daughter isn't home. Lol

Thanks 👍
Love this

Love that harness, who makes it? Just setting up my sidecar!!
I think I got it on eBay somewhere.
Great video...👍👍
Thank you 👍

In my experience there is no problem at all getting dogs into a sidecar, it is getting them out of it is the problem.
Great video! What kind of harness is that?
It’s a tactical harness , I think we got it online somewhere , I probably fell for a Facebook Ad or something 😄 but it’s come in handy.
@@CreakyRider It's a nice harness!
Is he still with you?
I can't stop thinking about travelling with mine, but can't afford a sidecar atm.
Hi

Hi Keith, with the riders screen are you looking above or through the screen when riding?
A bit of both.
I look ahead over the screen and down through the screen.
The screen sort of deflects the wind up over my face.

It's a 2020 model. 10000km , so far so good.
