    Cool to see so many sidecars. I have a 1988 Lowrider with a RHD sidecar, had it for 34 years, it is great fun and I've always wanted to set up an off road sidecar. The Ural looks like fun. Don't see that many sidecars on the roads in Melbourne.

      I'm sure your Harley would go great off road. A friend in the states took a vintage Harley across the TAT which is mostly odff-road. There's a writeup on ADVrider here www.advrider.com/f/threads/just-another-tat-ride-report-on-a-harley-dirtbag.910213/page-6

      That's ridiculous!!!! In Australia I prefer the winter months because it's not so darn hot. I have good riding gear and heated grips. It does get cool here, especially in the region where Ural Australia is based. They're in a town called Uralla...quite coincidental. Two years ago I rode back late from a recce and the temperature dipped to -4 BUT -34 is a whole other thing!

    Absolutely love this ride!
    Wish I had a group like that in New England!
    The next time someone asks me what it’s like to ride a Gear Up on the highway, I’m going to show them this clip at 13:10 😂
    Quick Question for those of you (us) that ride with our sidecars on the right!;
    Do you keep freaking out about the approaches these machines are making (the lack of clearance!!!), only to remember that these sidecars are on the LEFT?!?
    Geezuz, that’s disorienting for my old, little toy brain! 😂

    Не пойму, как пользоваться кик-стартером когда коляска расположена слева? В новых мотоциклах Урал есть электро стартер, но получается, в случае его поломки, завести мотор кик-стартером не получится.

    Hi Greg, this is has nothing to do with your fantastic video but I’m after a bit of advice, having ridden solos most of my life, I’m looking to purchase a a new Ural sidecar, question is what model should I be looking for , I know it’s a wide open question , I live on the mid North coast NSW & have some great tracks , I’m getting a bit old I feel for my enduro , so anyone that can give me a bit of advice would be appreciated thanks Marty

      Hi Marty, sorry for late reply, I've just got home from MotoGP. I've had 3 Urals. Started with the CT, then the Ranger and now the 2WD. All bikes have been great, I love the 2WD. Just bear in mind that these bikes first came out in 1939 and whilst they've change a lot, there are still pretty agricultural. They will take a beating BUT there is a limit. Check and change the oils regularly, go over them and check for loose nuts and bolts after any long or rough ride and they'll last a long time. I love them and spend more time on the Ural than any other bike. I ride off-road 90% of the time, ride slowly, see a lot more, don't start screaming when I come up to loose sand and am enjoying my riding very much. You can load whatever you want when you go away, including a 12V fridge to hold the cold beers. A good day off-road is a 170-240km ride, any longer and I'm starting to ask a little much of the old body!!!! Probably the best thing I did was a course with Jon Taylor at Ural of OZ. An excellent course and worth every penny. Do the course, it will save you A LOT of puckering moments. Side cars are NOTHING like riding 2 wheelers, when things go wrong it happens fast and the correction is normally exactly the opposite of what you'd expect!!! Ural Australia run ride days where you can test ride the bikes, call Mat of Clare at Ural Australia and they'll book you in. You'll probably notice from the video the average Ural owner is a little on the old side and not very attractive...don't let them I said that! They are an amazing group of people and most importantly they are out there enjoying themselves and not sitting at home grizzling about the world. I get as much of a thrill riding my Ural off road as I do on my adventure bike. Do a test ride with Ural, do the course and get out there and enjoy yourself. Hope this helps.

When I pass people on the side of the road, they look at the bike, smile and wave, I can tell they want to be where I am. We are a lucky group of people.
