I notice that you now have your tyre pressure gauge mounted on the handlebar. How have you managed to mount it?
I have since mounted it on the windscreen , the first one failed after a while , they are cheap ones. I think I'm up to my 3rd one now and it's working well.
ha ha ha.. you guys are awesome.
Enjoying your channel and your misses has been welcomed by my misses! I have shown her this video and she thinks we could do the same over in WA. Thankyou. Jim n Karen. Kalgoorlie.
Good stuff 👍 you must have plenty of places to explore up there 👍
another great video and adventure mate 👍
Always best not to aggravate the wild life 😲 could ruin a good day out. Great to see an outfit gett'n around. Cool vid cheers
good stuff ride on creaky rider
How has the reliability been on your bike ? Do you do your own maintenance ? Great ride !
I’m up to about 17000 km, I’ve done all the maintenance myself , just filling the schedule in the manual. No problems so far 🤞
@@CreakyRider Thanks ! safe riding....
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Good afternoon. I want to ask you a few questions regarding motor oil. 1. Do you experience oil consumption during operation? 2. If yes, then how many liters per 1000 km? 3. At what intervals do you change engine oil? The manual says 5000 km. 4. Why do you use mineral motor oil instead of synthetic?
1. Do you experience oil consumption during operation? No , it's not using any oil yet , I'm at about 17000km 2. If yes, then how many liters per 1000 km? Zero 3. At what intervals do you change engine oil? The manual says 5000 km. Yeah Ive been doing it by the manual , next service at 20k I might have done a few shorter intervals early on to make sure all was good. 4. Why do you use mineral motor oil instead of synthetic? It's old technology so I just use the old mineral oil. The Bike is reliable if you look after it.
I would swop this GS here for a Ural just like that given half a chance , I had one an 03' Dalesman that I should have kept .
Maybe get a side car put on the GS ?
Is your bike not driven on each wheel?
No , my bike is 1 wheel drive 🥲
I have my XT660R for 10 years and I still love it. Did some test rides on new adventure bikes but I’ve decided to keep my XT660R. It has a single cylinder, only 170kg, it’s better off road than most newer adventure bikes and I don’t need more than 48hp off road.
Yeah that’s right, more than enough power ,quite ok off road and can cruise on the highway to get back home 👍
Oops forgot to ask. One of your background tracks was great. Just after the causeway crossing. You used to provide credit. But not on this one. Mind telling me the artist? TIA.
Yeah it’s a good tune, it’s free music that comes with the editing software I’m trying out. “CapCut” I’m just using the free version.
@@CreakyRider Your audio sounded better. Is that to do with Capcut??
Yeah , maybe ? I used to use "Normalise" on the audio in Powerdirector , but in Capcut that is a pro feature so I'm just using the free version and adjusting the levels manually.
Hi Keith. Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to day 2.
Back with the Ural, great stuff.
amazing... upgrade to a head cam or dash cam itll be more stable and a better viewing angle for viewers! abit like itchy boots YT channel
Holy Sh!t Creaky, I sure wouldn't want to be driving let alone riding that track at night, mate great trip thanks for sharing 🇦🇺😲👍that creek crossing is the best camping area. Just found ur channel and subscribed, gotta love our amazing Country. Did u know if u grab a hanfull of wattle leaves, scrunch them up with some water, it makes a really lovely soap.
Thanks , wattle soap , I’ll have to try it. 👍
@@CreakyRider no worries, hava good one
Awesome vid.
My first trip to Hill End was in the early 80's and it was magic! The road in was as rough as guts and corrugated dirt with Roos everywhere. Thanks for reawakening some nice old memories mate.
It's a great place , you step back in time there.
Love your videos. I bought my first Ural about a year ago (2015 that blew the right side throttle body in June - good luck fixing it) and my second a few months ago (2023 Gear Up). Every time I go trail riding I think to myself, just like Creaky Rider! I am curious about the rack you have on the front of your sidecar? Do you have a link to that by chance. I want to do more camping out on the trail.
Thanks the front rack is off a harley , I got it on ebay. Just search for "Tour Pak Pack Luggage Top Rack Motorcycle Fit For Harley Touring Street Glide"
I want to do something like that. Thanks for the video.
Interesting road is an understatement as last time I drove it it was very steep and rough but you could have done it. National Parks strikes again.
We are a couple of lucky blokes with a pair of nice misses. Karen I enjoy seeing other couples enjoying our sidecar adventures. Jim n Karen over in Kalgoorlie WA.
Yeah , it's good fun to share the adventure.
Well done Keith. A trip to remember. Always more memorable to share it with a "significant other". Impossible to forget hey,😂😂
Gremlin Bells only work if they're gifted to you. If you buy it yourself, it won't work...
My wife bought it for me , it seems to be working so far...
@@CreakyRider That's good, you'll be safe from Gremlins then! 😁
currently I have a 1996 tourist 650cc I cruise around 60-70kph as the engine is happy at that speed. I've hit 100kph on a slight down hill. currently have 7000km on it something around there as mechanical issues there are oil leak from the gear box, final drive is kinda shaved, and right cylinder need valve adjustment as the engine idles there are clicking sound ( once you hit the throttle it goes away )
Good stuff , same here for top speeds , it likes 80km/h , and isnt using any oil yet , the final drive is a worry , but I keep an eye on it , so far so good.
what a scam that was
its ok officer im going to bunnings
gladys said its ok
had my ranger 2 years tractor bility is amazeing
You can check the temperature of the cilinders with a laser temperature gun (don’t know how they are called in English). You have to make sure though that you can set it on measuring metal. When you are done with your cilinders you can use it in the kitchen. 🙂
Thanks for the review. Have you any idea about the oil consumption?
It doesn't use any oil , so from oil change to oil change I havent had to top it up at all. I do change the final drive oil more often than needed just to keep an eye on it , but engine and gearbox doesnt use any.
@@CreakyRider Good to know! I am considering to buy one myself. I think they are very fun to ride.
A good sense of humor will get you a long way.
Yes it helps , on our final day riding home we ended up with a sidecar full of water , so a sense of humour is a must 😂
Re that narrow dodgy crossing. All you had to do was get a run up and fly the chair as you got to the narrow bit.
Exactly what I had planned , but was vetoed by the sidecar monkey 😂
Good to see you back ,it's been a while.
nice ride Keith.
Great presentation. Much appreciated. You make me proud to be an Aussie. Your lack of bullshit and no unwanted crap will possibly not be appreciated in more countries than just Australia.
Thanks for the comment , much appreciated 👍
Mines 2014 done 50000 miles ace bike done everythink on it love it
What bar bag is that?
It’s a handle bar bag from a pushbike , there are lots of different types of.
How long before you can begin to relax when starting to ride a combination? Am 100 miles in 😮
Good question! I’d say about now you realise it’s very different and wonder what you have done 🤣 But don’t worry , just take your time , stick to back roads and enjoy. It gets easier.
Hi Keith, I have a 2023 GU and it handles itself very well in slippery conditions ( Recently been on a very muddy Swallowtail Pass and Slippery Araluen Rd). I've looked on eBay for the Harley rear rack, but none of the displayed options seem to be suitable. Do you ahve a link to the one you bought? Thanks Chris
Good stuff 👍 If you search for your pack top rack you should find one . Try this link www.ebay.com.au/itm/364685139095?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=kRiChmEpTx-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ziqlMw4MSDK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
vac gauges are way better .... carbtune is far from accurate
gday Kieth , what toe in are you running on yours ?? , in the process of fine tuning mine , its nice to have some datum points to work off . cheers Mark,
I adjusted the lean out , but I e never touched the toe in, it’s tracks pretty straight on a flat road and the tyre wear is even so I haven’t bothered.
She's a ripper mate👍🌊🏄
nice ride, im enjoying my new to me 2020 ural , almost carbon copy of your , even same colour.
Good choice! How many km on it ?
@@CreakyRider 30000 it was called ulian and owned by another youtuber called ural bug. only fault so far has been 9 busted spokes in the back wheel, apart from that its in good order . im getting used to riding it and the dog loves it.
Nice bike.
nice ride guys, ive just got myself the exact same year, colour, ect ural cant wait to do similar adventures down your way , im based in warwick qld , but there is a lot of nsw i want to explore. might see you on the road some day. like your vidios well done.
Congratulations on your Ural 👍 Many great rides ahead 😃
Love this
I'd love to buy one but I have no idea where to start with the other gear like helmets and jackets etc. Being able to talk to one another seems great!
You should go for it 👍
We loved watching your 3 day adventure you really covered some beautiful country. My wife and I are envious and can’t wait to adventure in our new ural. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching , I hope you have fun 👍
I like the Millennium Falcon on the sidecar.
Stunning area up top there mate and loved ya bikies 😂
Hehe , thanks , I'll start getting hate mail from Harley riders now :)
Good to be out and about isn't it. We rode our Ural yesterday over some terrible roads in beautiful scenery and my arms and shoulders are, mmm, complaining. All the very best to you both!
Yeah the Ural can be a good workout , it's nice to hit some smooth roads at the end of it. 😆
Greetings from the UK. Yet another great episode of your adventures. Congrats on the 1K.
Thanks , enjoy your summer over there 👍
Nice ride .... thanks, from Ocean Shores Washington State U.S.
Thanks 👍
