You guys are very careful, always adding insert clips of what parts need to be repaired on what huge cars. It alters our view of what is repaired. Very informative. Thank you for going the additional mile for us.
I reckon his new toy has already paid for the R&D cost, development, CAD company (Karen?) designing it, getting it cut out and Kurtis' labour building it. Now it's all *PROFIT!!* Nice!!. 👍👍
Wow! What a brilliant setup you have made for your business, it’s clearly a very valuable addition. Good on you two for finding ways to streamline and improve your enterprise!
Shop made tools for the win... Being able to retain the x and y for the the eye using the welding stand made short work of that part of the reclamation, and a nice bit of multi tasking to be more efficient... Thanks Karen and Kurtis, also not forgetting Homey
Let me interject. A lot of people may not understand the full extent of the service that you provide. 1> savings on purchasing new parts. 2> savings on freight charges 3> savings on down time (customers lose a large amount of money in most cases for every hour that their machine sits, not working) It's a no Brainer. Turn around time is got to be the most expensive. 4> The customer can actually watch the process on RUclips. They can view the professionalism as well as the ingenious methods that Curtis professes. Not to mention all the expensive machinery that takes regular maintenance. Curtis is always updating his machines as well as techniques that he alone has systematically introduced. His knowledge is vast and his work ethic is unsurpassed.

I love it when Kurtis says something like "my heavy duty machinist jacks" and opens a box to reveal a tool that 99.999% of the world's population has never even heard of, let alone seen. 😆
He's what Snap-On has tried to be for years......There's a tool for everything!!! Yes there is and Kurtis not only owns most of them all his tools and gadgets are well maintained and treated with respect.
Very common in the machining world, kinda common in mechanics as well but they're just called screw jacks and they're not a fine thread like machinist Jacks
@@donnienicholson6062 Honestly, the love and care he showed towards that SIP jig borer (and the fact he drove 13 hours to get a set of tooling for it!) shows me that he is a true connoisseur of machinery.
I still can’t believe he doesn’t have an apprentice. So much knowledge that needs to be shared. I heard him say he can’t find reliable help, such a shame that so few want to work with there hands now.
The problem is in australia at least it actually costs the business a fair chunk of money to hire an apprentice, not just wages but it'd the fact that in reality if done right an apprentice will reduce Curtis's output in supervision time and education
Don’t think I’ve watched any videos of the honing machine. I’ll have to go back and see what I can find! Once again we get to witness Kurtiss’ knowledge and work for perfection for his customers and Karen’s amazing ability at filming and editing! Thanks guys!
Hi, guys! It's great to see the tools you have created and acquired being put to use on your paying jobs. And it gives your customers the luxury of working with a trusted "one-stop shop" they can rely on to quickly service and restore worn hydraulic cylinders and other crucial parts with a quick turnaround. Brilliant. 22:00: I think those are the pigs I sent to Homey a couple of weeks ago. Hope he enjoys! Have a great weekend guys and see you next week! Cheers.

Hope you recuperate quickly. CEE is the perfect place to recuperate! Enjoy Kurtiss’ perfection, Karen’s flawless filming and editing and of course Homeless taking care of security and safety!
Hey mate, we're sending you wishes for a speedy recovery from your surgery! Fun fact, Kurtis had back surgery to remove his tailbone many years ago after a work injury, some idiot setup a broken chair that Kurtis went to sit on and fell, he had back pain and issues for 2 years before the surgery. Normally I find unboxing videos inane but homeless nailed it right there.
I made bore welder many years ago to eliminate having to set up and break down of the line boring machine. It was essentially similar to your boring bar but had the feed thread cut into the bar itself and ran in bronze bushings and a fixed nut. Threads were left with a large flat at the crest, mitigating wear. A 3mm pitch is optimal for layer buildup. Driving the bar was done via a simple gear train with an idler acting as a clutch which also allowed manual rasing and lowering of the bar using a hand wheel. Wire feed was an old mig welder wire feeder and the spool was also attached to the bar top so everything went around with the bar. This arrangement eliminates the wire flicking caused by the wind up using a fixed spool and rotating contact tip. Cut off wheels make excellent draught excluders simply held up to the bore bottom. They also create a pool of shielding gas in the bore which is good for arc stability. Side benefit was not havng to constantly cut new wire liners.
