This such a beautiful display of sportsmanship. So much so that Yale should immediately grant these kids favorable admission chances to their graduate programs 😂.

Might be the best March Madness story this year so far. Considering Yale won, I am now rooting for them so I can see the real and the backup Yale bands playing together in the final 4!
I saw the article about this. Had to come on here & say what a selfless things to do. Wish everyone would look out like that for complete strangers. Idaho band is made of some good kids.
Yale has a two-week spring break, and most students make other plans since the team is not a regular NCAA Tournament participant. But I have it on good authority that the Yale Precision Marching Band will make the trip to Boston for the next round if the team wins on Sunday.
I am a recent alumnus of the band. I do not know for sure what happened, but given how Yale’s Athletic Department has previously treated us, my guess is that they made a blanket decision on the matter without asking us. Based on my time with the band, we would have been very enthusiastic about the prospect of going, but the Athletic Department constantly makes head scratching moves on our behalf without our input.
Righhht as someone who worked at my Universitys endowment and saw how much money was donated to basketball.. pretty sure they should expand the travel budget to cover the fkn band .. ! Tragic misalignment in leadership
@@jamesshively I bet they wish they had prioritized the trip. GOOD PR LIKE THIS GOES TO THE VANDALS out of Moscow Idaho instead. Thanks U of I band players!
I’m still sick over the game, but this is a really uplifting story. It was great to see Idaho step up and close congratulations to Yale, y’all played a much better game than did my Auburn Tigers.
@@jamessimms415 Yale is one of the richest private schools in the world with and endowment of over $40 billion. There's got to be more to it than "it was too expensive".
Are you telling me a ivy league team can't afford to send their marching band to the March madness? I guess they're spending all of their money on equality
@@hanaj maybe you need to do a little research Yale said they couldn't afford the cost of shipping them all the way across the country plus the boarding room I guess they spent too much money on safe places equality and donating too much to BLM and the rainbow Mafia
The Yale students are poor, they can’t afford a cross-country trip like that. These students come from families that make only $300K a year. What do you think they are? Harvard rich kid students. 😅
Their protestations against the University for not divesting from fossil fuels caused the school to charter the band an all electric bus but the battery ran out with the bus now stuck outside Albany with a snowstorm tonight.
Yale alums are posting this everywhere. We appreciate you U of I!!!!
Im just a Pacific Northwest basketball fan - and Im all in for Yale today. GO BULLDOGS. Just feels right!

Thank you for playing for us, Idaho!!! ❤❤❤
After this im a yale fan

Even this BSU fan is sitting here wiping my eyes (onions, probably...). Pure class, Vandals! Let's go Bulldogs!!!
Im with you. 100 percent. Yale's gotta win. The Vandals are behind them all the way. So am I.
This is sportsmanship at its best

So cool and honorable. Thank you to the U of Idaho band!
Thank you, Idaho!
Great story. USA #1.
Way to go Idaho !!
Wow... just, WOW! So cool and well done U of I!!
That's an awesome story. Great job Vandals!
I will show to all my fellow Yalies so they can join me as new Vandals fans.
Idaho fans are yale fans now too
The University of Idaho is also the site host at Spokane Arena.
I hope they enjoyed the game and got to celebrate the win. SEC fan here but this was a good uplifting story.
I cant recall a feel good east AND west story like this - ever in sports. Its so great. And just super gracious of the Vandals.
Amazing story 😊
This is great! Why couldn't the Yale band be there?
Yale has a two-week spring break, and most students make other plans since the team is not a regular NCAA Tournament participant. But I have it on good authority that the Yale Precision Marching Band will make the trip to Boston for the next round if the team wins on Sunday.
Shame on the band. The basketball team made it, so they should have made it as well. Sounds like the band doesn’t support their sports teams at all.
They make their break plans many months in advance. Be considerate @@paulready8897

Outstanding!!!
Aztec fan here and I LOVE this. Makes the win over Auburn that much better! Go Aztecs!
Great story. Thanks.
This kinda thing gives me hope for the future!
Very very cool!
great story. superb job
Nice, this has happened many, many times, too many team, over decades
Still a nice story
First time Ive heard of it. Love that they got Yale tee shirts too! Great tradition just got greater. Lets go Bulldogs!
That so nice. Thanks!😊❤
I'm surprised the obvious question wasn't asked, why couldn't the Yale band come to Spokane?

Auburn fought hard. As an Aztec here I was really hoping you guys would lose so we wouldn't have to face you. You're a good team.
Super cool
That’s really cool…props to them
Such a great story!
Yale should be embarrassed, with their endowment they should have made it happen. Thank you to the Idaho band that was gracious enough to help out.❤
Way cool!
This happened 2 years ago. What is going on at Yale?
Yalies don't like Idaho. Too conservative for them, and not woke enough!
They're spending all of their money on safe places inequality and probably supporting BLM and the rainbow Mafia
Ok BUT WHY COULDN’T THE BAND BE THERE?
Why couldn’t they send the band?
I wonder why their band couldn’t travel?
Likely airfare, hotel, & food expenses.

no one in yale band thought theyd make the tournament so they all went to programmers camp on spring break
Very cool. But embarassing on Yale's part for letting spring break almost mess their chances.
Sounds like Michigan one year in the 80s.
Great job, U of I! Shame on Yale administration. You couldn’t tap into that endowment to allow the band to go?
Yale’s band could go. They have more than enough money
Well done UofI
A private university with an endowment of billions of dollars couldnt send their band to the tournament. Way to go U of I.
I am a SEC fan but as a Bama guy, happy to see Auburn lose. Roll Tide.
My question is why Yale could not get the band to the game. When last I checked, Yale has plenty of dough.
They had the dough, so they outsourced to Idaho. Kind of like the reality of the business world. 😛
All that and no telling why the band couldn't travel?!?
Too busy protesting. Yale is quite busy.
