i've been messing around with the dupe glitch and trying to dupe stuff without going to the main menu so here is how it works
all of the steps in the video up to,
- Drop the stack next to the duped 'single' ammo/stimpack (anything thet stacks really)
- Quicksave and then pick up the stack or duped item, and Reload the quicksave and presto
- it should be duped without having to go to the main menu. wich is alot quicker 😁 have fun

It took a few tries to get the timing right, but I got it to work in the most recent version (v1.35 - 2024) of the PS4! Thank you for sharing this method! I can now have different receiver versions of the very useful Overseer’s Guardian!

You can also attach the storage to the vacuum hopper and make it loop around. Then you won't have to mess with the container

Yes! You can load the save you made right before exiting or you can just exit and load the exit save.

Tried this on PC, worked like a charm, I'm going to dupe a ton of ammo :) However, when the ammo contains stolen ones the conveyor splits them in two: stolen and non-stolen. So make the dog pick up the non-stolen one (it had more ammo in my case).

Works, thanks. It seems that stack duping works worse with some types of items (Power cores loading by one, while when you drop them their stack splits, some meds probably. Resources doing well, just should manually drop them on conveyor).
No problem! Sometimes stacks will not initially be all together though, yeah. Fusion cores in particular I've noticed split more often than most other items. That may very well be due to their differing amount of power left or something though. Maybe it technically modifies them and so splits them from the rest in the case of dropping them all. Whenever I have a stack splitting like that, I just put away all of the smaller amounts and dupe up the biggest amount. It stays as a stack from then on minus dropping/picking back up after duping.
So if you keep cycling through the conveyer belt you can dupe the same stack multiple times per save reset. Let dogmeat drop the item, rather than drop your stack put it through the hopper again. When you're ready, drop your stack and every individual item dogmeat dropped will have the dupe. when you save and reset you're laughing.
I figured something like this would be possible, but didn’t bother messing with it as even just duping up 1 stack gets you so much so quick haha. This could be more ideal / efficient for certain stack sizes or scenarios though so good to know 👍
This broke my game or saves. It crashes to desktop when I exit now. It worked fine one dupe at a time. Don't do this

@@johnirby8847 I've done it a ton since and without any issues. Sorry it messed up for you though.
@@DemonAsylum we've already fixed it and identified the problem. It can create an incorrect load order with certain items and doubles the size of the save file each save. If you are affected by this you'll notice insane save file sizes that go from 10 kilobytes to 100mb. This causes the game to crash on exit when it tries an exit save. To fix you can correct the order by editing the save manually or by going off somewhere, blowing yourself up, waiting a few minutes and then reloading the same save. You can then exit and notice the exit save is back to a normal size and then save normally after. Delete the old saves that have doubled size over and over. If you load one of the gigantic saves you will have to fix with the steps above again or you'll always crash on exit save.
Does stacking only work with ammo? Everything else I try will duplicate but only one at a time no matter the size of stack. I’ve tried radx, grenades, stimpacks, glass as examples.
Nope, you can dupe stacks of whatever you want. If something is coming out of the hopper 1 by 1, just drop the stack onto the conveyor belt yourself.
Thanks to this I can now actually use the Nail Gun from the Makeshift Weapons pack without having to run back and forth waiting to buy 10 nails at a time

I can only duplicate stacked ammo like .45s for example, but can’t place stacked fusions cores on to the coveyer belt, I place 10 on to the belt and they all come out in singles?

You mean when you put them into the hopper they come out as singles? If so than try dropping them onto the belt instead to see if they come out as a stack. If the issue is they don't come out as a stack at all than I'd recommend dropping them all, picking up 9/10 to put in a container, and then starting with 1 (max charge of course) to dupe up. Hopefully starting from just that single will allow you to actually form a stack from it. Mine are in a stick and working just fine.

If anyone’s dog meat is failing to fetch the item simply quick save quit to the main menu and reload. Works like a charm, duped a bunch of fusion cores lol
Failing as in not going for it at all? Haven't heard of anything where he fails to fetch, but at least it's easily fixed with a save / quit / reload haha.
I wish that aid items were stackable for more efficient duplication, for example putting 5 stimpak in separates them into 1 individual stimpak

This duping method isnt always working for me, when dogmeat drops one fusion cell on the ground i drop my stack of 61 fusion cells, and its dropping 2 stacks of fusion cells instead of one stack. google isnt being helpful and i want to know how to fix this.

A lot of the time if you have an item doing that, if you drop them all and pick them all back up, they'll return to one stack. If not, just ditch whatever the smallest amount of them are and work with the larger stack size. Glad they returned to one though and it's working for ya :)
5/26/24 can confirm that this dupe will work with Valentine as your companion on ps5. (Couldn't find dogmeat, so I figured give it a shot)

So could you do multiple stack duping of different items constantly so like with the bullets but also then dupe stimpaks after then save. Would that duplicate them or mess up the dupe
I would assume it work still work as while duping that different second item / stack, you wouldn’t be interacting and in turn interfering with the first item / stack. You’d do the glitch with one item / stack up to where you save / quit, but instead would do another item / stack. After that continue the glitch as normal to make visual > reality.
@jaypenter6718 I already showed that in the video and that isn’t what he’s asking about. He wanted to know if he can do that method multiple times prior to saving / exiting / reloading so that he can dupe multiple stacks of different items, but without saving / exiting / reloading every time. I replied to him now though explaining that I see no reason why it wouldn’t work.
I wouldn't with some items but I've already left a comment explaining how to fix the corrupted save on this video. Stick to one stack per load

Does this duplicate armor or weapons with mods? Like if you were to dupe the combat rifle you’re holding, does it duplicate the attachments as well? I’m trying to find an easy way to outfit my settlers without having to modify each weapon
Unfortunately no. It will provide you with a base version of the weapon. However, couldn't you get a unique / legendary combat rifle for instance (assuming the perks carry over to settler use), dupe that, and give it to them all? The alternative seems like what you said, modifying each weapon. At least you wouldn't have to worry about lacking the base weapons or resources to do so though LOL.

I found an improvement with the ammo dupe. Instruct dog meat to stay near the container that the ammo is put in. Then proceed with the rest of the method. Works 100% of the time.
I wouldn’t say it’s objectively an improvement, but for some it might help. I often don’t have him too close to the conveyor (since he’s just naturally doing whatever), and I can still command him to come do the glitch successfully all the same. Also, having him close can mean him grabbing it too early which essentially fails the glitch so you have to try again. Thats why I almost prefer having him a bit more away. That and I don’t want to command him to come near the belt over and over either haha. That’s just me though. Some may prefer or have an easier time keeping him close each time.
@@DemonAsylum that's fair. I kept having issues with dog meat grabbing the items too soon, so placing him there helped with the timing. When given the command to stay, it leaves the command prompt up while working with the machine. Once the item was just about to leave the middle conveyer, i was able to then instruct him to grab the item. Seemed to help with the timing.
For some reason the saw blades and the modified baseballs wont stay on the conveyor belt or go in the conveyor storage. Do you know if there're any solutions or are those the only ammo types that can't be done with the duplicate glitch
Edit: I even tried dropping them myself and it still won't work.
That's strange. So even if you put them on the belt yourself, they go to the end and then what, just sit there trying to go in, but they don't?

Just tested and that worked for me too. I also tried quicksaving and afterwards NOT picking up a stack before reloading the quicksave. Didn't make the other stack stick. So weird how picking the OG stack up AFTER quicksaving and then reloading the quicksave that again took place PRIOR to picking up the OG stack, makes a difference. This game is fucked LOL.

When I do the single item trick it works fine, but when I do the stacked ammo trick, after dogmeat drops the single ammo, I can't highlight the ammo or pick it up, it's just stuck on the ground like some permanent stain. Weird.
Try doing it in a different spot. Maybe the textures of the ground where it's dropping are buggy. I for instance have had times where he drops it and it just goes through the ground a bit below lol.

As for duping other stacks with this, yes, you’re probably not doing what all is required. I’d recommend going to the part of the video where I dupe a stack to make sure you’re doing it all correctly.
I can't do this method with Stimpaks. I've tried drop in cabinet, in convey, drop on elevator and nothing, they keep dropping 5 or 6 stimpaks and even if i pick them up and dropped again, it's the same. The RadAway function all the time.
For anything that comes out of the hopper in single items rather than a stack, drop it on the conveyor belt yourself so that it is in a stack as it should be. If they split up, whatever is the largest stack they drop in, use that and just store the rest in a container in case it's messing with the others. So if you have 11 for instance and when you drop them all on the ground or conveyor belt it does so in a 6 stack and 5 singles or whatever else for that matter, keep the stack of 6 to work with and put the rest in a container. If you're saying that you have 10+ for instance and they ALL drop in singles as well as wont go into a stack when you pick them up than maybe try starting fresh with just 1 stimpak in your inventory and duping that up.

@NeroxEditz There's a much better and faster way to dupe crafting materials. This method works best on armor, guns, stackable non-crafting materials, etc. Tons of tutorials on YT for the crafting mats

When I put a stack of stimpacks in the bureau the stimpacks start appearing one after another instead of the whole stack
If you have a stack of items that comes out of the hopper that way, don't bother using the hopper. Just drop the stack onto the conveyor belt instead. Enjoy.

I'm having the same issue with bloatfly larva dog meat will drop just one I'll grab the stack drop it and then save and load then it's still just 1 started fresh with a new larva and still the same problem not sure what I'm doing wrong I get all the other glitch to work but not this one

Works with anything including radaway, yes.
As strange as it sound this duplication glitch is hit or miss for shotgun ammo. I only successfully duplicate it 3 times so far while for other ammo types like 38 round and flame fuel it was a success each time.
Any chance it's something on your end? I've personally duped most ammos including shotgun ammo and have had no issues at all.
@@DemonAsylum Turn out i did successfully duplicate shotgun ammo everytime but most of the time the ammo is invisible so i need to look carefully where it is dropped by dogmeat.

They stack. You may have to drop the stack on the conveyor rather than using the hopper though since the latter may spit them out 1 by 1 instead.

If anyone’s wondering, duplicating items past 25,000 the game doesn’t really have a number to display when you load back in So it’ll look like two individual items, but they’ll all still be there, but anything over 70,000 and it won’t work

You can indeed! If you put them in the hopper than they'll come out 1 by 1 though so just drop your stack of them onto that side of the conveyor belt and then do the glitch as per usual with stacks of anything.
Bro almost forgot 😂I boosted my specials to 29 and 30 😂 using the survival mode and also addictions and then used the book glitch 😂 my carry weight is at 600 no perks yet 😂

The version NUMBER is different, but the update is the same. We've seen this before with multiple games including from Bethesda for PC vs Console version numbers. No bigee. So yes, this works on PC too.

It must either not actually be installed or maybe it's bugged and needs to be reinstalled. You have access to it all right away so I don't know what else it could be asides from that.

I can’t this to work dogmeat just stares at me like I’m an idiot then barks he doesn’t try and retrieve any item i tell him to fetch it when it hits halfway and he doesn’t move until it’s sucked up
Even if it's been sucked up for like 10 seconds, he can still get it. Maybe try having him go for it even a bit sooner. Just make sure he isn't so close that he'll get it prior to it going into the storage.

@@DemonAsylum a way to make this even faster is if you put the items directly in the hopper and if you click the quit option instead of quick save then hit continue instead of load (if you haven’t found that out already)

The Contraptions Workshop DLC as mentioned in the video, yes.

Yes it works on all systems!
Does it work for comics?
It does, but based on my testing it does not give duplicated effects from such. So if a magazine gives you a 5% boost to something and you dupe it to get another, picking it up will not give you another 5%. While there may be 10 Grognak The Barbarian magazines for instance that all give the same 5% effect, all 10 of those magazines have separate item IDs within the game and so seem to only be able to apply their effect to your character once.
Any way to do the duplication without dlc?
Dogmeat duplication (picking an item up right when he does) is still possible, but it's a bitch to get the timing right and also doesn't seem to work with every item. Could be that the timing is just more strict with certain items versus others, but even if so, it still makes those more difficult ones seem near impossible to do it with. I'll be doing a video showing it off for anyone that's curious, to prove that it is in fact still a thing, and of course so those without the DLC that want to, can take a crack at a dupe for things they otherwise can't get a lot of easily or physically can't get more copies of at all.

Not sure what happened but the glitch stopped working for me, everytime the ammo reaches the hopper dogmeat stops fetching it.
Still having issues? Just make sure that you're correctly commanding dogmeat and to grab the item as well as before it gets too close to entering the storage. Even for me he occasionally just stands there, but that's just him having janky command mechanics to begin with I feel like. Not specific to this glitch or anything as the same issue can of course happen outside of it.

Not both patched or fully anyway, but rather either to a degree or with what's working having rough timing windows. Either way, yes, bringing 2 different glitches together to make the fastest, easiest, and generally just best duplication glitch for any items that the game has ever had haha.
Why would they even bother patching an exploit that people are enjoying on a single player game? It doesn't effect a single person other then yourself!
@DemonAsylum One day we might be able to get back to the beautiful simplicity of shooting Varla stones at a 45° angle with an amount of arrows equipped equal to the desired number of the item you want to produce and watching them burst into existence like some sort of dimensional piñata. 🎉
Seems like this doesn't work with 5mm ammo. I put the stack I have of them into the container and instead of just moving the entire stack across, it splits them up into dozens of little stacks made out of 10 bullets. This is super unfortunate as 5mm is the one you'd need a ton of the most for the Minigun. For reference, I already have a stack of 25k bullets I'm putting into the container. Maybe it's too much for it or something because I've tried another ammo type, that's just a stack of 600 something and it worked.
For anything that comes out of the hopper like that, just drop the stack onto the belt instead. Then do the glitch as normal from there. If when you drop it, they come out in multiple stacks, pick them all back up. If they then still come out in multiple stacks, just use the biggest one and store the rest in a container. Enjoy!
@@DemonAsylum Yea I tried putting the big stack on the belt right away (you suggested that in another reply here in the comments) and it actually worked. It was kind of a pain to get the timing right for Dogmeat to pick it up but I managed somehow. For some reason tho, it seems like I can't duplicate my stack any further now. I got a 100k bullets stack now (it doesn't state the amount of bullets anymore for some reason when I put it down) but when I get Dogmeat to fetch it and he gets me that one bullet, the stack in the container is just 37k and not the previous 100k... Not sure what happened there but I don't think I wanna risk losing those 100k bullets like that.
@@wolfbrigade8042 I appreciate you taking the time to check other comments and also am glad you got it figured out. As for the dupe getting wonky, yeah the game handles those higher numbers of stacks pretty weirdly and poorly. Given that, you may have to be careful with how you go about duping up to a million for instance. Not that duping to such an amount is even necessary, but I know many would still like to and so you just have to be weary of the risks haha.
doesnt seem to work for copper for me, transfers the copper one at a time out of the container rather than as a stack
Anything that does that, drop the stack onto the conveyor instead of having it come out of the hopper. Then just do the rest of the glitch normally.
Working for items - not for ammo stacks for me.
Works just fine for stacks too. Did you watch enough of the video to see when I did a stack, how it differs, and the added step required?

I just tried again and dogmeat just howls and doesnt do anything, i tried doing it to the .308 but worked on the .45 ammo
Might have to do with your timing or not correctly / fully clicking on the ammo box when it's going down the conveyor belt. Definitely works for .308 all the same as .45 for instance though.
All other glitches worked for me 😂 just that darn .308 ammo, gunna try again later

Makes me wonder if any companion would do or so long as they weren’t TOO slow. The window of time for them is pretty long though honestly so probably wouldn’t be much of if any concern.
Cait and Piper were far to erratic in patching, were either too fast or were wandering around too far away to reach in time, strong pretty much refused aha. With Valentine you have to make sure your guns holstered and you don't look at them after commanding the pick up, even if he misses it he will sometimes still pick it up way after the "window"

Yeah only reason I didn't use dogmest was because I triggered the quest after breaking into kellogs house and stopped doing that quest line, so I couldn't grab them. When I said valentine would pick up way after I'm talking a 5 sec gap between the item reaching hopper Inventory and him doing his lil' curtsey animation to pick up, buuuuut it seems harder to trigger as if he's too close he can pick it up with a bugged animation where they pretty much shrug and pick it up
note: it does not work with the new 40 mm frag ammo
In what way exactly does it not work? I personally haven't tested it myself so can't back anything up regarding it working for that or not. I'll have to try.
@DemonAsylum for some reason when the item falls out the storage to grab it, it completely disappears or its there and you can't pick it up. It's probably because it's a new item so it's buggy
Somehow I'm screwing this up and only getting one bullet.
At one point? When you dupe it you are initially only supposed to get a bullet. It's what you do after that makes it turn into the full stack. All shown and explained in the video. If something outside of that is going wrong though than lmk.

Not only was this patched, but if you tell dogmeat to fetch from the bin. It destroys all except 1. Tried with 6 duct tape. Ended up with 1 duct tape. Reverse dup lol
Not patched at all lol. Literally was doing it just a bit ago. If you want to dupe resources in particular though than you should use this dupe as it's much more ideal for them - ruclips.net/video/6iBqeEVOL2E/видео.html Again though, the dupe in this video still works 100% as well.

@DemonAsylum it wasnt me it was the dog he was picking shit up to early or not at all it was very unpredictable but i mean it works better without it in my case you also didnt need the generators to hook up to both parts of the conveyor you just needed to use 2 small ones and hook it up to just the hopper but again its your tutorial im just stating what worked for me 🤷♂️

If you can find a way to pin dogmeat in place near the end of the belt, cause telling him to grab something will unwait him
you can tell him to take an item from anywhere on the belt then look at him so the other talk options appear (be close)
wait for the item to enter convayer storage, look away & he'll drop the item.
You can get him to do multiple items at once (unstacked) by looking at him you just have to wait for him to stop barking, best to do the third item after what you took for him the finish

This doesn't work on PC. Dogmeat just looks into the air.
Works on all systems just fine. If you mean he does that when you command him to get the item, you’re 100% sure you’re correctly commanding him to get the item before it ends up in storage, and it happens literally every time, than it sounds like he’s just bugged on your save.

Make sure you're actually clicking on the item going across the conveyor belt and make sure it's not too close to it going into the storage either. Even while doing the above he occasionally ignores my command, but that can happen with anything while commanding him. Nothing to do with this in particular. Good ole dogmeat.
