I did a test pob and damage easily goes over 1m without any gear, just picking 123 nodes, which of course isn't optimized but it's definitely viable, with well rolled gear it will be a banger
This is good, but each spark cast only hit one time each 0.6sec, doesn't matter if you cast 20 projectiles, only 1 will hit the same mob per cast, so, if cast speed is slow doesn't matter how fast the projectile goes. Proj speed in spark is very good for QOL purposes like mapping and to improve dps in small arenas, and yes, can help dps since the projectile can hit more times in the window of duration of skill (std of 2s), but at some point is useless all the speed if you don't have those attributes(cast speed, duration)
If you check the footage they used to show of the returning proj. gem at exilecon, you can see that the projectiles from both frostbolt and arrows from the bow skill they used went through the player after returning. I would assume spark would work the same.
Hello, nice idea with spark! Would you happen to have a configured POB for your manaforged arrows build but with standard items per chance? Also I remember on one of your streams you talked about breakpoints in the manaforged arrows build, but I can't find that stream, could you list the most important stat breakpoints, like attack speed, crit chance or whatever else is necessary for the build to be good? Oh and one more thing - does Widowhail scale the "bow attacks fire an additional arrow" from 1 to 3, or how does the 250% work with 1 arrow?
I have to say I'm a skeptic to the idea, especially with widowhail. You are giving up *alot* of damage in the search of proj speed - getting more proj speed isn't magically more damage, you still need other stats. In my experience 3x+ proj speed feels good and 4x+ proj speed feels amazing, the thing is this is achievable with typical caster weapons using other means. Medium proj clusters are extremely strong on spark and give you access to a bunch of proj speed and you have access to a lot of other proj speed speed sources such as proj speed mastery, anointing for proj speed, ashes, alt qual b+s with enhance, alt quality haste, wand suffix, faster proj support - the list goes on. The reality is you can get plenty of proj speed (as much as you have with the widowhail setup or close to) on a decent investment char without having to give up your caster weapon + shield which you can 5-6 mod pretty deterministically. If you are spending the amount of money in that heiro pob you could make a cracked aurastacker that will break the game just as much. If you wanna do 6k delve then its a slightly different story, but still. Past a certain point you are making a mockery of the game and it doesn't matter. Then you come to problem of speed for a typical spark guy. Bow movement skills are terrible. If you aren't leap slamming with good attack speed or shield charging then you need alot of movespeed for movement to feel good just running around with a bow (we are talking like 200%+ movespeed, ideally more). Not to mention the potential defenses you are giving up. Additionally, your estimations of hits vs proj speed in your example are disingenuous in my opinion. Past a certain amount of proj speed the amount of hits you are getting is more due to the area or arena you are fighting more than anything else. Tripling your proj speed doesn't magically give you 3 extra hits in reality. For this reason when I'm comparing spark builds I look at the hit dps of 1 spark and the proj speed and compare that (assuming 1 duration wheel with mastery on the tree) between builds because multiplying your dps by an arbitrary factor is going to lead to extremely misleading results. Slapping a "mirror tier" pair of weapons on a build that solves proj speed with widowhail and a quiver and then comparing it as such is asinine. The reality is a build using a sceptre (more likely wand) similar to what you made in POB will also solve proj speed. Also, if you are playing spark then you should be playing tilesets that play to sparks strengths, doing this alone is going to make a spark build feel better than having half the proj speed you have and innately lowers the value of proj speed because you are far more likely to get multiple hits anyway. I'm not saying proj speed is bad - as I mention above I like 3-4x proj speed personally, but its not the whole picture. In conclusion I'm a non-believer of this setup compared to just playing traditional setups for the average build - the only interesting thing about this to me is the budget factor of it, as widowhail is cheap, but you are extremely reliant on your quiver and if you want something really good you are probably going to have invest similar amounts. The idea is cool though. Maybe on some insanely expensive chars with corrupted widowhail and perfect triple synth quivers with insane amounts of movespeed it can hold a candle to a caster weapon setup.
What about the Havoc tech of using Soulthirst? It doesn't contradict much of what you're doing, but it scale your cast speed to the moon. Which your quiver bow tech won't do anything for.
The difference between 100% proj speed and 9999999999999% proj speed is zero dmg difference… u shoot 12 projectiles with 1 cast the whole purpose of projectile speed is to make sure atleast “ 1 “ spark out of these 12 sparks hit the target every 0.6 sec till sparks disappears which is guaranteed anyway with decent proj speed so u can add 1000000 projectiles 1000000 projectiles speed and dps won’t go up by 1 dps
You can also corrupt Widowhail for lvl10 Faster Projectiles Support and put Spark in bow, another 60% proj speed and some proj damage.
Whats the process?

Use you brain to delete this dog poopoo. Mean bitc ass
