Yeah Zote is no bars the hardest boss. I was really expecting Radiance to be an absolute beast after fighting Zote's final form, but it Radiance was a push-over compared to Zote.

TBF, You're not rlly fighting the hollow knight as much as the hollow knight is fighting the infection inside itself. The fact that they're able to regain control of their body temporarily and attack themselves is already insane.
Okay, I'll give you that Hollow Knight isn't that hard... But easier than False Knight and Flukemarm?! No way. I actually died a few times to Hollow Knight, but never to those two. Also Grey Prince Zote wasn’t nearly as bad as Grimm.

The dream shield deals the same amount of damage as the nail and takes around 10-15 secs to recharge so they’d have to be checking their map for 3-4 minutes. If their nail was any lower setting then OP here is most obviously lying. They are still probably lying even when having the pure nail. They likely just stood next to the crystal guardian knowing that they could do such an exploit related to the boss fight.
That’s the thing you won’t stand there nearly long enough to do this by accident. By the time you have a decent nail upgrade to actually accidentally do this you’ll probably have already killed the enraged crystal guardian.
They are canonically female because the Hunter's Journal entry for Traitor Lord says he turned against his sisters. In a group of three females and one male you would call them lords. If they had individual names I bet they'd be Lady W, Lady X, Lady Y, and Lord Z. The only iffy part is whether or not the group name would be changed after the only male left, and both Team Cherry and I seem to agree that the name would stay the same.
I found Dung Defender to be one of the easiest bosses. He was just a damage sponge with easy to dodge attacks, but that's just my opinion. Edit: Since everyone is saying “bUt WhItE dEfENdEr” Id like to tell you all I beat WD on the first try using a full minion build

Grimm (normal and NK) are just Memory, Nosk however is very erratic. Eventually I cheesed Nosk but my gameplay style is rarely "Whats the easiest way to fight this" but learn it's moves and where the openings are.
Radiance is pretty straightforward. Unlike something like Galians sycthe bounces or Zotes mid air shifting slams, all of Radiances moves are straightforward and easy to understand. They aren't easy, but I definitely died more to Galian than Radiance. I made it through all of deepnest with no nail upgrades because i had yet to find the nailsmith. So my experience with galian was extremely difficult. I'm really suprised by how all the boss order lists on ytube have so many "nice opinion but you're wrong" comments about a game where you can experience all these bosses in varying orders.
I want to erase my memory about this game just to experience it for the first time again. This game is beautiful and is definitely my favorite game of all time.

Galien was indeed trivial. Even with a coiled nail (thus raising his health accordingly) I still found him to be a non-threat by just spamming Abyss Shriek with the appropriate charms equipped. Really, almost all the dream warriors can be completely trivialized with spell builds.
I really think this is the kind of game where you really should at least try all the different play styles. There are fights designed with different things in mind, and limiting yourself to just nail combat or spells or face tanking or sharp shadowing is a great way to turn an otherwise fun boss battle into a tedious struggle.
I went into the Gallien fight *scared* on my Steel Soul run, and then literally just stuck my nail in his hitbox for the entire fight and ignored his attacks and he died way before I did. He's not got a lot of health, and his actual hitbox moves really slowly.
Very interesting to see your thoughts on the bosses. I really like watching these videos since the boss difficulty is completely subjective for the most part

RIP White defender- In a stupid fucking secret floor that doesn't give any indication of being able to break No Eyes- Stone sanctuary, everyone first sees it without a lantern, no one ever returns even with a lantern Markoth- Edge of the kingdom's edge, too edgy for everyone, and the locations of those shadow gates are so darn difficult to remember Radience- For being ranked lower than fucking Galien
Xero was actually one of the easiest bosses for me because I figured out that you can go off of the raised platform in the middle to heal and he wont follow you, so as long as you hit him enough to gain focus you never have to worry about dying.

That’s the thing though Gruz mother will probably be one of the first bosses you fight and you definitely can start to recognize patterns once you get to dung defender and flukemarm. That’s why I love the game so much, it let the player feel a differnce in skill when they play. Lots of games it feels like you just progress, but hollow knight challenges you and let’s you grow to the point where you need to get instead of pretty much watering down fights so everyone can play. Also if you expect this game to be simple, that you won’t die, or always know where you are this game isn’t for you. Honestly I just want to rant about how good this game is to somebody.

Probably the most outdated list but still my favorite. I'll always hold this in a special place of my heart because it's what made me go back and play past the first area of HK.
Gotta say, I wasn't interested in this game at first, but this video probably convinced me that I'd love it, as it looks very similar to Cave Story, a game I recommend you try since I think it may be right up your alley. You could even do a boss ranking on it. (Just saying though, if you do try it, get the 3DS Eshop download version (not the 3D one) or the PC version, with all of the extra content.)
This game is a MASTAHPECE. Not joking around one bit. Excellent soundtrack and animation, great gameplay, deep and interesting lore and a perfect atmosphere and worldbuilding. It's coming out for the Switch, in case you have one maybe you should wait for it. I'll buy it again for sure, this game deserves all the money in the world.

For the false knight fight a breakable wall will come right above the left entrance when he throws his tantrum for the first time so you can go back to the false night with it and once you kill him, you can kill the top of the weapon he smashes you with the entire fight

I'm still kinda confused about that. They are called Mantis LORDS after all. I think that the title Mantis Lords includes the Traitor Lord, who is male, but the other ones are female.

In defence of Gruz Mother: yeah, she’s no match for any halfway decent platform or Metroidvania player, but for very new players she’s a nice simple challenge to break them in to the very basic boss mechanics. For me, this is the first 2d platformer ive played in years and was SHOCKING at first, so I died more to her than Dung Defender, Hornet 2 (beat them both first try), the jellyfish things, the dream warriors or Broken Vessel due to my inexperience. Beating her gave me some confidence, and encouraged me to go forward and ‘git gud’. This is now in my top 2 non-Zelda games of all time and I want to keep on getting better. I think she was a good way of breaking in new players without dumbing down the overall experience for veterans as she’s an early boss
A list of a person's opinion on how hard a boss can't exactly be better than another person. With how much adventuring you can do without being forced to fight a boss and unlock more masks, soul, charms, upgrade your nail, and sword techniques etc., it's going to vary

In all honestly I just had to know what you were going to say about Grey Prince Zote, cause I just knew you would basically say everything that I felt wasting my life on this "fight". I died way too many times, when much harder and cooling looking bosses took up less of my time. It's just that feeling of satisfaction when finally defeating him. This boss is insulting, plain and simple. It insults you and it knows it. Great list by the way.
Fun fact: I found Gruz mother significantly harder than false knight, had to abandon fighting the boss after the first couple tries. I went and first tried the false knight and beat hornet before I remembered it existed while back tracking. My brain deactivates if a boss moves with the slightest bit of urgency and I couldn't react to anything she did.

They are called Mantis LORDS after all. I think that the title Mantis Lords includes the Traitor Lord, who is male, but the other ones are female.

In defence of Gruz Mother: yeah, she’s no match for any halfway decent platform or Metroidvania player, but for very new players she’s a nice simple challenge to break them in to the very basic boss mechanics.
For me, this is the first 2d platformer ive played in years and was SHOCKING at first, so I died more to her than Dung Defender, Hornet 2 (beat them both first try), the jellyfish things, the dream warriors or Broken Vessel due to my inexperience. Beating her gave me some confidence, and encouraged me to go forward and ‘git gud’. This is now in my top 2 non-Zelda games of all time and I want to keep on getting better.
I think she was a good way of breaking in new players without dumbing down the overall experience for veterans as she’s an early boss

A list of a person's opinion on how hard a boss can't exactly be better than another person. With how much adventuring you can do without being forced to fight a boss and unlock more masks, soul, charms, upgrade your nail, and sword techniques etc., it's going to vary

Flukemarm is easy if you stack magic charms and use the scream spell. You can spam it so much and the cleanup is like one or two swipes.

In all honestly I just had to know what you were going to say about Grey Prince Zote, cause I just knew you would basically say everything that I felt wasting my life on this "fight". I died way too many times, when much harder and cooling looking bosses took up less of my time. It's just that feeling of satisfaction when finally defeating him. This boss is insulting, plain and simple. It insults you and it knows it.

Fun fact: I found Gruz mother significantly harder than false knight, had to abandon fighting the boss after the first couple tries. I went and first tried the false knight and beat hornet before I remembered it existed while back tracking. My brain deactivates if a boss moves with the slightest bit of urgency and I couldn't react to anything she did.
