Toughest video i've made yet, took a long time to make, edit and work out which boss should be ranked where. These are all main mission bosses and i was using dual swords throughout my first play through (which is what this is based on) - If you enjoyed the video giving it a like really helps me out. Also please comment below what were your top 5 hardest bosses as its interesting to see everyone's different opinion. Cheers

My hardest boss was Lighting Gods of Yomi since I was too stubborn (dumb) to use lighting stop. That's dlc though. Base game. Probably Yatsu-no-Kami. Though that's only on first play through. Great vid!

Thank you so much for your kind comment means a lot since this video took literally hours to edit and piece together. My list was based on first playthrough and tbh i haven't done any dlc yet... haha its clearly something i need to do as nioh 2 is an amazing game. Out of interest which boss would say is the toughest for you overall?

@@DRAKLOR_44 that's a tough one. On my rematch with Yomi I beat her. Though I used thunderstop and a blue summon. Yatsu I beat a bunch too. I'll get back to you after my Dream of the Strong playthrough. The DLC is awesome. The bosses there are overall harder than the base game's so I'd imagine if you were to make a new list a lot of them would probably be near the harderside.

Yeah i already beat Yatsu on the second play through quite easily, simply because i understood her mechanics but the first time was really really hard... she was worse in the beta apparently lol. I do plan to make a second guide when able, i did enjoy editing and piecing it together just a lot of work and not much feedback when you aren't a known youtuber.

(This first paragraph I just noticed is pretty much what you pointed out at Enenra, just made it there on the video) Hmm I really don't think number of deaths on first run should be a thing to rank bosses raw difficulty, even without considering build and playstyle differences among players, cause, you got a wider fan of options you may like more towards the end of the game, whereas you're more limited at the beginning, and of course, your own expertise and familiarity with game mechanics etc, for instance, I died many times to yatsu no kami at my first run, while I beat Otakemaru first try, however, with otakemaru I had whole Nioh 2 on my back, was way more familiar with little things like changing shortcut pages and using items way faster, I should have died several times to Otakemaru but used several quick change scrolls, I only carry one, but shinobi tools allowed me to use several of them, I ddn't have that option with yatsu, additionally, I did bother rolling my gear, optimizing it for my playstyle, while I was running pretty much standard just-dropped gear at yatsu, difference in damage dealt was huge, took me ages to get yatsu to low HP
Hardest for me... Toshimitsu Saito, that a*hole took me more than 50 attempts, main mission however... Kashin Koji maybe, I think he would've taken me a lot of tries if I didn't have quick change scroll, now the one actually took me the most attempts... Toshiee Maeda actually, I know he's generally thought of as a pushover, but I did struggle with him (plus wasn't using QCS)

Good response and constructive... truthfully my plan was to make a list about each difficulty whilst covering a lot of detail. Unfortunately real life got busy and time shrank a lot more than i would have liked. I do agree with your points about the gear, builds, roles, knowledge etc and having played the first one a ton i know that each difficulty past the first couple are actually challenging to some degree.
Koji was tough hardest 'human type' boss in the game, Maeda was the other who could be a pain unless you were fast and could dodge or used sloth etc to slow him down.
Anyway thank you for taking the time to watch my list, it was hard keeping the time down and editing all of the sections but i did enjoy the finished product. Btw did you also complete all the dlcs?

@@DRAKLOR_44 RL first always! completly understandable
To me, I think either Dream of the Strong (NG+) or the next one... I think Dream of the Wise? (haven't made it there) is where the game's ballance is actually focused, coming already being familiar with mechanics, like, you won't be dying as much because you can't find your god dammn elixir on your shortcuts, or died because you forgot to ki pulse
Difficulty is cranked up, not only stats but some new stuff is added in so it doesn't exactly match the prev iteration, for instance, first Gozuki now has a perma dark realm in it, Dream of the Strong actually feels a bit too easy so far, though in my case I did take my time to think of an optimized build and grind lvl 160 gear / roll lines even before starting the new cycle, so that might be why, but if this is just the usual, then maybe yeah, next cycle for base ballance, since I think that's also where you start to get orange gear, so yeah, once you have all these... yatsu no kami and other early game bosses really become a pushover, while I think end game bosses will still be pretty tough for us, would love to see new skills / combos for bosses on higher difficulties, heard they do change a bit, for instance, burst counterable attacks switch, but no idea about fully new different skills, that would refresh the gameplay for bosses like Enenra, gozuki, etc
Now am not complaining about this, is exactly what game shoudl be like for new players
Hmm I don't think I would consider Koji "human type", like, I get his figure is human, but the entire fight is yokai stuff, not talking about skills themselves, but what you can and cannot do to him, same for even Tokichiro just before koji (toki 2nd fight)... reason is, while tokichiro do still move like a human (koji is a bit of a mix), they do have dark realms, their ki bar and ki depletion system is NOT human like, meaning they can't be exhausted for a grapple, you can't counter him (as in weapon parry, which was a nasty surprise since I tend to use weapon parries against human bosses and didn't notice tokichiro's purple bar), neither can you grapple after paralyze etc, if anything, I would say Tokichiro is the best depiction so far of an actual shiftling fight in the game... human moveset, can counter you, unlike the guy at the end of Tengu's Disciple DLC, who's supposed to be a shiftling iirc but fight is pretty much... purelly yokai, I think it would've been interesting if they had made Tokichiro so that his ki bar type changed half way through the fight
I still haven't completed First Samurai DLC, the other 2 I have yeah, I will say that Ren Hayabusha is such a piece of... organic waste e.e
      Also great vid! :P

Lol yeah i didn't mean koji was human meant he looks it and is the easiest way to explain i guess he has magics and yokai in him so a real mixture haha.
In the Alpha demo Yatsu was apparently insanely hard to the point that they must have toned her down a fair bit but in the normal game yeah the early bosses on 2nd playthrough seemed very easy.
I guess what also made me do a list of the first playthrough is the fact that your character isn't op and you don't have things like sloth, qcs, etc so of course bosses the first time round are actually challenging because elixirs are limited, one hit nearly kills you and the boss mechanics are new.
Overall though i've loved nioh 2 way more than the first, i also haven't done the dlcs yet but i do plan to get them done its a fantastic game just wish they kept updating and bringing out new stuff tbh.
