Thanks, John. I think my humor is at its best when I'm dealing with the sex lives of animals (see Whiptail Lizards Mating). Knowing just how far to go without crossing the line into mere crudeness is the fun of it.
Yeah, well, this little movie is as good a way to discover my channel as any I've done. I had a lot of fun with this script, flirting with double entendres and the pretense of innocence. 😉
Oh, Angel, I got such a kick out of writing and performing that section about the male's ... member. I'm happy to know that somebody else just had fun with it.
Lovely, thank you! Just watched a pond full of these mating today (in the UK) but didn’t know exactly what the process was. It all looked like a beautiful dance. So thank you for your film and narration🙏
I gotta admit that I love writing scripts where sexual double entendres are appropriate. My all-time favorite in that respect is one that I did about whiptail lizards mating. I'm glad to see that the short I just posted got you to move over here and watch the full length movie.
Great and informative. Loved your narration - very dry and humorous. I spend much of my summer taking visitors out in a boat looking for wildlife for a charity and I'm always looking for ways to make observations more memorable and fun without being too graphic. Your style is perfect.
I enjoyed reading your compliment. Sometimes "straight talking" will get you in trouble, right? I had fun figuring out how to be salacious without stepping out of the bounds of propriety. I'd suggest you check out my movie about Whiptail Lizards Matng for more of the same style. Thanks for commenting.
Hi we are staying in Idaho near Henrys Lake, near Yellowstone. My first time experience and opportunity to photograph the Damselflies. We are in the area for about a month at Redrock RV Park. It was more fun than expected to find (see a blue blur) and try and photo the little Damselflies. Your video helps in many ways. Will try and capture more images during our stay. Think what i saw was the Northern Bluet, thanks to captions in your video. Have a great day.

A few appeared in my pond just recently, blue ones and green ones.it's nice to see them flying about hopefully they can get rid of those small mosquitoes in the summer😅
I saw a male on the flagstones near our artificial stream one day, and I decided to find out what he looked like in a macro camera. Amazing creatures! Learning about them was so much fun, and this is still one of my favorite movies. What part of St. Louis do you live in?
@@JoAlwoodBIRDSANDTHENSOME Was the male in this video the male you filmed? I like how close up you got. There are only a few close up videos of damselflies and dragonflies that exist. I think their eyes are lovely, although my aunt did scare me as a child by playing a Japanese horror film about a praying mantis. I decided to finally get over my fear of that movie by watching mantises and other bugs, and that's how I ran across your videos. Beautiful channel. Saw a video here in Japan about dragonfly mating the other day. Just had to see more. So...interesting how the male grabs the female by the neck, then she attaches her tail to his underside. Didn't know anything about the cleaning out process. But, then again, that's what human male penises do as well; like a plunger.
