I like your choice of hubcaps ! They look great on rallys! I prefer the rally gray paint. So far you’re doing great! If you can keep going a little at a time and not get burned out, you’ll go far! Thanks for sharing and working to make it a better car
Nice work on the Nomad. The bigger head screw in the correct mounting hardware. Distilled vinegar and a touch of salt works real well at cleaning up rusty parts. Try to tap the slides up and down till they free up. I think the sliver looks the best on the old Ralley wheels. The liftgate gets twisted from the torsion bars on the hinges, yours my be a little worse due to it being up for so many years. Sometimes you can press in on the top corners of the liftgate and it will close a little better. Later Buddy
Thanks, Don I think I’m gonna follow your playbook and try to keep it as original as much as I can. I really like your cars and how you put them together so I’m using your builds as my benchmark!
My strangest find in a car: My first car was a 57 Chevy 210 two door. I got it in 1968. There was a problem with the rear drivers side window rolling up and down. So I took the door panel off to fix it, and I found a 1951 Silver Dollar at the bottom of the door cavity. Not sure how it got there. Also I use white cleaning vinegar to remove rust, a lot. And my tip on getting rusted / stuck bolts, nuts, and other parts lose is to spray them with a product by Sea Foam called Deep Creep. If it still won't loosen I spray the part again and let set for 24 hours. Then I spray it with a product by CRS called Freeze Off, and try to loosen it again. Never failed me yet. Love your channel.
I used evapo-rust and it’s reusable and it works great ! Soak it for 24 to 48 hrs and brush it off and wash it with water and it look really good ! I’ve been using it on my 55 ! 😃🤙🤙🤙
I use vinegar all the time for removing rust. Normal white vinegar works good, pickling vinegar is better but cleaning vinegar with 10% acid is the best. Keep the container covered all the time, it can be used over and over again. Takes 24-48 hours, then rinse off with water. Do not thin out the vinegar, use it straight. I've cleaned up 95 year old parts, they came out like new.
Coming along good. I just got my 56 Nomad out for her first drive in over 5ish years? Been doing some upgrades to make it more reliable and it's finally getting there. Felt good to drive her. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next to get yours going. One piece at a time and eventually you'll be surprised you're there. Keep up the good work
Less is more on the wheels for me. Needs a chrome trim ring. Dont think tyres are correct. A letter tyre or white wall. Are you keeping the original paint and vleaning it up. But blowing in bottom light green. That would look cool. Id make it run for a season with cleaned up paint. Get running gear correct. And enjoy. 👍👍
i think that motor can only be front mounted because the motor has no provision for side mounts also the heads and valve covers had a stagger bolt pattern
I believe you are right. That’s how they came so that’s how I’ll put it back. One thing is for sure that motor is not gonna make enough horsepower to break anything lol
@@RhinosRestomodsI was 17 when I bought my 56 . The 265 had plenty of go,but it broke a piston ( a common thing back then ) I swapped in A 64 327 . I only needed to drill the pads in front to fit 265 front mounts .😊😊
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks, it’s a little surreal for me. I always wanted a Nomad, then it just worked out to be!

I think the dark green with the cap would look good.
I agree with you. I will definitely at least do one wheel just so I can see what it would look like. Thanks for your input!
Just be you and keep doing what you are doing. The Subs will come with time. It's all good to me ! I'm going with the dark green look.
Great update Randy. I think dark green on the wheels would look really good with the caps. Keep up the good work your making good progress. 👍😎✌️
I agree with the dark green. I’ll at least try one wheel to see it. Thanks for sharing!
Cool update brother. You are getting good at theae videos, kept me entertained for 17 mins 😊
Vinegar does nice at cleaning rust off. ✌️
I’m glad you guys talked me into this. I’m starting to have fun with it now! Thanks for the support!

That's the plan! Except for this freezing cold I feel like I’m making progress a little at a time. Thanks for watching!
Dark green on the rims would be sharp
