    Over MSRP? You should never pay MSRP, period. What is the second word in MSRP, ..... Suggested. Yeah, let that sink in. Always negotiate below MSRP and have a percentage in mind before you start talking to a salesperson but just keep that information to yourself. If you love a vehicle there are always other options. It gets you from A to B. What options do you need in it, how many seats, how much room, do some research to see what other vehicles might check all your boxes.

No mark ups. I bought the last one the dealer had. Show room car. Low inventory. I played hard ball. I got subverted rate of 5.9, not 9.97. My payment is 342.00. I had 8200 equity in my trade, 20 Fit EX. Plus I put 2K down. Financed 20,500 after ext warranty. My loan now is 11,800 in 10 months. I’m paying extra principal. My fit payment was 330.00. I think I got a pretty good deal bc the Honda dealer across town wanted $34,215 out the door for the exact same MSRP $33,000 car & fees. Difference was they offered me only $500 for my trade in & they had a $1,999 add on window sticker on it & every new Honda vehicle on their lot. The dealer I bought from doesn't add a add on window sticker on any of their new Honda's unless you ask for something you want added from the accessory catalog!

      I will never buy a new year model for ANY vehicle, ever. It immediately depreciates in value when you drive off the lot, and yet you'll be paying monthly notes on it as if it's retained the original value. WITH interest. Doesn't make sense to me.

    • @casey6518
      @casey6518 22 дня назад

      @@rabd3721 That's your choice isn't it! But I'm 57 now & retired early at 55, this could be my last new car too. I kept my last car for almost 18 years to drive to & from work but now I will put an average of 5000 miles a year on the new one. I'm not worried about deprecation now because I don't trade cars that often now like I did when I was younger. This 2024 is my 14th new vehicle since my 1st new one I was given for my senior year of highschool. You keep buying your used cars in your life & I'll continue to buy only brand new ones like I have done my entire life so far. Not interested in buying something someone else decided they didn't want anymore for a reason. So deprecation really means very little to me if I'm not planning to trade anytime soon, besides my car will be paid off next summer if interest rates on CD's drop below 5% when it's time to renew a baby CD I have! I did put $10,000 down plus my trade so I'm not upside down by any means iny loan. Gotta spend my $ on something bc you can't take it with you if something happens, it's best to enjoy it while you can & a new car is enjoyable!

    Most of these are justifiable by buyers - simply by the fact that even overpaying; they’re still more affordable than the next model “up”
    Obviously, when people have a fixed amount they’re able/willing to spend. Whether a car is at, below, or above MSRP; they’re still going to go with that vehicle, because it’s in their budget.
    Other vehicles, like the maverick as well - have really, really excellent resale value - so it’s almost impossible to be upside down if you’re getting one under $30K.
    It’s also the cheapest hybrid vehicle on the market - while also doubling as a light duty pickup.
    Great vehicle, and dealers can get away charging more, cause it’s relatively underpriced, compared to similar vehicles.
    Still should overpay (you can order one at MSRP from almost any reputable dealer) - but it’s probably the best sub $30k vehicle on the market for value, and residual value after 5 years.
    Good gas mileage too…

    Meanwhile I'm interested in a Ford Explorer where I see some dealerships selling new ones ~$10,000 under MSRP. How common is it to see cars getting sold for around $10,000 below MSRP?? All jokes aside, I'd get Ford over some of the other brands out there. I've driven Ford and Toyota before and both are incredible brands.
