    Anyone who appreciates the game of baseball should be able to appreciate the amazing player that Bryce is and the amazing season that he had. Tatis and Soto will win their MVPs in the future without a doubt. But this was Bryce’s year. He deserved it.

    As a lifelong Phillies fan, I HATED Harper when he was in DC. He was the archenemy and I thought he was an arrogant asshole haha. But the more I watch and listen to him, he just seems like such a humble down to earth dude. Well deserved Bryce, Philly loves you!

    Regardless of what team you like, you gotta respect Bryce man. He plays the same so hard in a way it kind of reminds me of how Griffey played. Bryce plays every game like it’s his last, laying out, smacking against the wall, giving everything he’s got in every baseball opportunity he has. Well deserved Bryce.

    Damnit I love Bryce Harper!!! I love his passion and ferociousness on the field. Getting emotional like that shows how important baseball is to him, and shows how much he loves the people around him.
    It’s an honor to see him play and how he carries himself.

    MLB always uses "team is contending" argument for their convenience. It doesn't apply for Trout or Harper.

    I'm confused. Juan Soto's 2nd half OPB was .500! So much was made about the excruciatingly small percentage of PA's Harper had with men in scoring position, or on base, or whatever. But Soto already had more walks than strikeouts pre-All-Star break, and then all he did was post a 41-87 K/BB rate afterwards. And it's clearly not about old counting stats like HR and RBI, otherwise Harper's 86 RBIs might have been held against him. Reasonable people can disagree, of course. I just would have voted for Soto. And it wouldn't have been the least bit close.

      Harper had a second half OPS that only 2 people have ever had in the history of baseball. It is not even close Harper ran away from the field. Extremely easy decsion.

      @@jasonfranklin2925 he didn't deserve it on that stat alone. This is probably the most undeserving MVP award since 1942 when Joe Gordon won the AL MVP. I'm not hating on Bryce, I love him and wish he stayed with the Nats. I'm glad I get to see him come back on a regular basis. The guy will be a hall of famer one day and will win a few more MVPs, but he didn't deserve this one.

      then again bryce is one of the topped payed players so he technically is most valuable.

    There were SO many better candidates than Harper.... He was only hot towards the end of the season while there were at least a HANDFUL of players that were CONSISTENT all season. They wasted this award this year....

    Bryce did deserve the MVP and I’m happy for him, but I personally believe there were 2-3 other players who deserved it more. I’m happy for him, but yet again I fail to understand what the voters are thinking.
