I'm confused. Juan Soto's 2nd half OPB was .500! So much was made about the excruciatingly small percentage of PA's Harper had with men in scoring position, or on base, or whatever. But Soto already had more walks than strikeouts pre-All-Star break, and then all he did was post a 41-87 K/BB rate afterwards. And it's clearly not about old counting stats like HR and RBI, otherwise Harper's 86 RBIs might have been held against him. Reasonable people can disagree, of course. I just would have voted for Soto. And it wouldn't have been the least bit close.
Harper had a second half OPS that only 2 people have ever had in the history of baseball. It is not even close Harper ran away from the field. Extremely easy decsion.

I'm not a harper hater, but I do think Adam Duvall helped his team win more than bryce harper. then again bryce is one of the topped payed players so he technically is most valuable.
